Two ways of governing Japan as seen in the classics: "Shirasu and Ushihaku"

- In the two books, the Kojiki and the Nihon Shoki, the two concepts of "shirasu" and "ushihaku" appear as ways of governing a country.
On the surface, these two words seem to have similar meanings, but in fact they represent completely different forms of governance.
These two concepts are not mutually exclusive;
rather, we believe that in an ideal governance, these two aspects would have complemented each other.
"Shirasu" does not simply refer to a method of governance, but symbolizes the community spirit that the Japanese people have cultivated throughout their long history.
The idea of the people and the country coming together as one and building a society through fair judgment and mutual trust is still very useful in modern society.
It is also an important guide that shows how we should learn from history and build a society for the future.
