It was completely understandable Melissa, that you were doing a parody on Mike, as your girls made it OBVIOUS you were doing a parody, because they were laughing the whole way through it. I totally agree with you, Mike about using your brush for the stain, and I love that crossbuck door you've made for your shooting cabin. Quit underselling your abilities! No need to feel ANY insecurity about your carpentry skillset, as the cabin project AND your wood shed project both are living proof of your praise-worthy skill! The same holds true about your felling trees! All the observers who are critical need to shut up and sit down! You've always PROVEN how capable you are, so breathe easy knowing your fans love seeing all of your accomplishments! It ain't a board and batten style door ya built.... it's a crossbuck style door. 😀
Two compliments: 1) I love that door!!! 2) Your editing skills are tremendous. I can imagine how long it must take to put one of these videos to bed. Your dedication to making these videos shine is greatly appreciated.
Up here in Minnesota Mike, we have the 48 hr rule on new tool purchases. If she don’t see it within 48 hrs you’ve had it forever. Lol but we also have the three prices you paid, the price you paid, the price you told her you paid, and the price your going to pay when she finds out what you really paid.lol have a great day!
Mike that shooting house, I mean deer blind, dang it, I mean mini cabin is looking fantastic! I built my first one last year and and absolutely enjoy being spoiled in it!
Hi mike enjoy your channel. Im a contractor carpenter for the last 32 years thought I’d give you some tips about the door. From what I saw you never used any glue on the door my suggestion would be any polyurethane base glue it’s awesome for outdoors screws will loosen in the corse of time. Do to moisture and expansion and contraction The other thing is your boards if left at the thickness of 3/4” tend to warp. So when glueing another board to it from the other side stabilize it. This other boards can be glued in diagonal which makes it also look very nice. Cheers. And keep up the good work Dave. Montreal.
Mike, you should cut the door in half on the center board to make it a Dutch door , that way you can open the top part to let more air into the cabin on those nice days , BTW , the door looks awesome nice job.
💥 Melissa didn’t think you could build a door? You mill your own wood, you built the mini cabin, you built the shed..... And you get a “I’m pleasantly surprised!” Put those pool dreams away for a few more years. *Keep on tractoring!* 👍
Sorry for clogging up your comments with a second one.. Your sense of humor is great and funny! My family is constantly knocking each other and wouldnt want it any other way. I think some people have no sense of humor and look at my family like we are crazy and mean. We all love each other and just like to keep things fun. And Mike if you are going to buy something new, make sure you hide the packaging and dirty up the tool a little bit. I am famous for buying stuff in the past when my wife is traveling or on vacation with the girls. My best purchases were the suv BMW and the large screen tv. Hard to hide those items! She reminds me everytime she leaves- dont buy anything! Still married after 31 years !!
Good looking door! Better than anything you could buy and a lot sturdier. With a little common sense and a positive attitude there isn't much you can't do...great job! 👍🇺🇸🇺🇸🇺🇸
If one cannot tease and laugh with loved ones, then they must lead a pretty sad life. I enjoy the joking, kidding, and making fun of one another. Life is to short and we are not guaranteed another day, so make the most of each and every day.
its to bad that there are always going to be 'haters' out there. if they don't like what you do they can go where they will be appreciated - like you-know-where!!
One of the first things I ever made was a outside door for my garage. 28yrs later, still hanging tough. Yours will too. I thought Mrs Morgan imitation of you was spot on & hilarious...
Don't feel bad Mike, my wife would have caught the fact that I had a new Dewalt tool just as Melissa did in your case. My explanation as always.....tools and tractor equipment enables me to work smarter not harder.
Mike that door will fit just fine with the cabin décor. It will sure keep the critters out. Melissa you are doing just fine with your new channel. Do not worry over any negativity just send them to me and I will take care of them.
Mike & Melissa - You're right Mike, she doesn't miss much. Busted again. But hey, every project needs a new tool. That's always been my motto. Love the banter between the two of you, and the impression of Mike you did a number of videos ago was great. Like Bob Purs says below, "Some people are just too uptight." Blessings to you both, and to the family. Hi to the Hunt man. Love that spicy chicken.
nope she didn't miss it loved the response Mike had that for awhile LOL and Melissa most of us loved the skit ignore the haters and take joy in knowing that everytime we hear Welcome Back Mike Here... we will be smiling about your impression of Mike still laughing keep it up love both channels GOD bless
Door looks fantastic! Have to say, I have a full blown wood shop along with CNC Router and there is no way in the world I have enough patience to take on and film all my project. You do exceptionally great work. Shows you are not just a hard working family but you think through things before starting. Keep up the great videos. I know I enjoy watching.
Could have fooled me,rookie. That is some beautiful craftsmanship, Mike!! It’s all about having the right tools, Melissa. As a cop, I understand good-natured joking, ribbing, and sarcasm. In my circles, it’s called love.
I love the humor😂 those who don't have their panties in a knot. You guys have great followers ignore the few jerks. Door looks great Mike and congratulations Melissa on the 10.000 subscribers. Glad to be one😁
Good morning to the Morgan’s, great video Mike and Melissa. Good looking door 🚪 Mike, you made it look so easy 👍👍. Thanks for sharing with us, always get a kick out of you two and the way you play, you have fun with life and each other’s antics! Fred.
I absolutely love the door! I would like my husband to make one for our livingroom someday ♥️ By the way thank you for sharing our video. You guys are great :)
Hi Mike, that door came up really nice, I'm sure you will hang it the correct way round , with the side you just stained being the inside of the door and the top of the top cross brace on the opposite side from the hinges, for support, with door opening out at the mini cabin. Having said all that, I'm sure you have it all planned out in you head anyway. I love your channel, I look forward to your's and Melissa's Off the Leash post every day. cheers Gooday Hunter.
Mike your door is beautiful! Great job! If you want to insure it stays square and warp free add some exterior carpenters glue to the joints between the cross braces and it will stay straight and square for years!
I like the colour of that stain . It look looks like the colour of a gunstock stain . Great job on that door . I'm impressed . Why spend money on a door when you can make a nice door . You saved the money by not buying a door and bought a sander . Smart . It's great when doing projects around the house . It gives you a reason to add to the tool collection .
Mike....Next door, please glue every joint and all contact surfaces with a highly rated indoor/outdoor Glue, water based is fine.....you are doing great on the door...
What a time for a video on making a door, that's my next project for a closet in our basement, I'm going to try put on barn door slider. Thanks John Mangas
Nice door Mike - It will be nice to see the door hung and how it holds up to the elements. That said, it wasn’t that long ago when people built everything they needed. Let’s face it, we didn’t always have a Home Depot or Lowe’s within 10 miles where they have everything in stock. I try to refrain from telling UA-cam creators “how to do it” because I might learn a different way. I am not much for finish sanding either. I like what you are doing - until next time - cheers
The homemade door looks great and is more appropriate for that application than a residential door as long as wood movement was taken into consideration when measuring.(Green will shrink, KD will expand) Keep in mind, the hinges go on the side where the bracing meet the upper and lower rails. This coming from a shop carpenter.
Watching you plan, lay-out and build that door. If you never built one. You definitely have had instruction on how to build things. So you can say I am a carpenter along with whatever else you do.
Love how quickly you changed the subject about the new sander, Mike. That’s a skill I, too, have mastered when it comes tools, chainsaws, guitars, guns, and various other things my wife thinks I have quite enough of. “How many do you need?” “Just one more!”
The mini cabin looks really nice!!! In the past I have made window units and doors and I cant seem to keep the weather or bugs out. The door may eventually warp on you as it takes in moisture and dries over and over again. I guess it depends on how tight you need the mini cabin to remain. The doors looks much nicer then my purchased steel door. Great job!
Looks awesome 👏 😎. Mike don’t used a roller on your cabin you will be picking a lot of fuss on your wood if you do. You get better stain absorption if you brush it and more even color . I worked in a paint store for more then 20 years. Your doing it right.
Mike, When we made barn doors all that cross bracing, which you did such and excellent job of fitting in place, would be the inside of the door. The smooth side goes on the outside for the best water run off. Also it seems that you haven't tilted your window sills for water run off either. But I do like the colors. Can't wait to see the little wood stove put in.
Mike I got such a kick out of your response to Melissa regarding the sander. “I’ve had it for a long time at least a couple hours “ I had to show my wife this clip because I say that same thing to her as well. Love your videos.
Very impressed with the door build . I thought it was funny when Melissa ask about the sander that you had for a little while which is the same thing I tell my wife .
Hi Mike,Melissa love your cabin beautiful door. I drew a picture of your door from the inside so my husband will do that to a storage room he just built two days ago . Blessings
Hi Mike. Super video as usual and a great job on the mini-cabin door. Looks very good. A couple of tips for the future if I may be so bold. If you need to use clamps to pull home the T&G joints its a good idea to use an off-cut to gain a packer with the correct profile to protect the clamping area. ( I take the off-cuts and cut them lengthwise to give me protection fot both profiles, I cut them about an inch away from the profile). Some profiles are quite delicate, this protection prevents the cramps from bruising the boards and causing a problem with the next one. You have probably done some research as you have the styles, the rails, and the braces pretty well proportioned the diagonal bracing is best fitted under compression rather than tension, so from the hinge side bottom to top at the closing side. Many will say it doesnt matter. Were you not tempted to split the door making it a stable type? Great job, great video.
Great job Mike looks fantastic you gave me the idea to build one for my Shed .. oh by the way my wife's the same way with my tools I buy them and tend to hide the for a period of time and slowly bring them out and use them she will say where did you get them I say oh gee had that for a while .. lol also i received a great reply to something i posted on her channel made me smile she actually Said something to like old me .ask her if she would say hello in a video if she can make my year. Again thanks and stay safe
Really talented trim carpenter told me once that the nails in things like this are there to hold it together until the glue dries..... but this door looks awesome!
Mike, great job on the “all weather indoor, outdoor door” as described by Melissa. I know it didn’t cost $200 but how much was the sander? Haha! I do the same! The best tool is the one at hand, small brush or circular saw. The GREAT outcome speaks for itself. Glass half empty types will comment as they are, glass half empty. Teasing without anger is just good fun! 👍 That’s all folks.
It was completely understandable Melissa, that you were doing a parody on Mike, as your girls made it OBVIOUS you were doing a parody, because they were laughing the whole way through it. Melissa if you didn't notice, Mike saying If I had a Table Saw ...
That's a hint of the next toy , coming to the Morgan's.
Hope you get your Pool !!
Mario Wickel More toys! Yes! And look at the 20-volt chain saw too!
The door is perfect! And I burst out laughing when Melissa discovered the new sander... and Mike’s response was classic! Thanks for all you do guys!
LOL she doesn't miss much, way to change the subject Mike ….." Look at this piece of wood , its all jacked up".... lol to funny . The door looks great
Never sell yourself short, Mike! Everything you have ever built has been exceptional!!!👏👏👏
Nice work, Mike. That's better looking than any store-bought door.
Mike that shooting house, I mean deer blind, dang it, I mean mini cabin is looking fantastic! I built my first one last year and and absolutely enjoy being spoiled in it!

Nice!!!!!!! You two are naturals. I LOVE the humor and light ribbing...
That door is beautiful, and perfect style for the cabin. Great seeing family working together. Great video!
AWESOME MIKE!! The Door Looks Great!!
Melissa Love The Smile!!👍👊
You were right! She knew that sander was new in a heartbeat. Sharp girl!
💥 Melissa didn’t think you could build a door? You mill your own wood, you built the mini cabin, you built the shed..... And you get a “I’m pleasantly surprised!”

Nice job on the door. Looks better than anything you would buy at the big box store. Enjoy the humor. The women don't miss much.

Great idea on how to make a door. Looks good.
Have a day.
One of the first things I ever made was a outside door for my garage. 28yrs later, still hanging tough. Yours will too. I thought Mrs Morgan imitation of you was spot on & hilarious...
Don’t worry about the haters Melissa, they are just jealous of the relationship that you and your family have. God bless and keep up the good work.

This opens up new doors to the talents of Mike Morgan...way to batten down the hatches...if you never try you,ll never know
The snarky banter is a great part of the videos! Keep it up!

Better than a store bought door...GUARANTEED ! Matches the structure. Great price point also.👍💯🇺🇸
How do you guys do it all? I’m starting a new channel and it’s about what I do everyday but it still takes a lot of time. You have a great channel!!
Melissa didn't believe you could do it. I had confidence in you Mike. God bless
Door looks great. Glad you thought of building it yourself. Have a great day.
Door looks fantastic! Have to say, I have a full blown wood shop along with CNC Router and there is no way in the world I have enough patience to take on and film all my project. Melissa your sense of humor cracks me up! Who wouldn't like it reminds me of my family😁 Mike the door looks good
LOL! “She don’t miss much”. Just like my wife!
Were still waiting for Mike to do a good impersonation of Melissa ? Two very good channels, thank you Morgan family. Stay safe & healthy.

Good morning to the Morgan’s, great video Mike and Melissa. Good looking door 🚪 Mike, you made it look so easy 👍👍. Thanks for sharing with us, always get a kick out of you two and the way you play, you have fun with life and each other’s antics! Fred.

Mike, don't minimize your wood working skills, these skills we obtain by doing!!! I am a master cabinet maker.
I like the colour of that stain . It look looks like the colour of a gunstock stain . Great job on that door . I'm impressed . Why spend money on a door when you can make a nice door . Mike you are a DIY genius. Extremely
Nice to hear a Melissa compliment Mike on his door project.
Nice door Mike - It will be nice to see the door hung and how it holds up to the elements. That said, it wasn’t that long ago when people built everything they needed. Love your videos. Nice door. The only thing I would have done differently is added glue.
The homemade door looks great and is more appropriate for that application than a residential door as long as wood movement was taken into consideration when measuring.(Green will shrink, KD will expand) Keep in mind, the hinges go on the side where the bracing meet the upper and lower rails. Nice job Mike! Your new sander was discovered in record time !
Watching you plan, lay-out

Hey all, Peter here from Northern Ireland, love your videos, keep up the good work 👍
Good job that door looks really nice and thumbs up Melissa you really don't miss much , great job guys keep up the good work and Hunter , "Have a Day"
The best king of the hill episode I've ever seen. Nice door!
Don’t let them bother you Melissa some people complain about everything we do the same at our house Keep up great work
Your video was fabulous Melissa! I love it when pretend Your Mike! ❤️👍❤️
Mike all that matters is that you and Melissa like what you are doing and how you do it,and the rest is just noise and wind.
Nice work,Mike. I watched this video right after Melissa's baking video. Have a day!
Don't worry about the "haters" and other crabby people. It's what families do. . .that's one thing that helps families bond.
Nice door Mike and like how she brought up the sander but also knows the dewalt tools are good purchases
Beautiful job with the door. Thanks for sharing!
Great job!
Wow Mike, I don't think you could buy a door that looks any better than that. Like it a lot.
Thanks so much
Pro tip: Next time dab a little stain, paint, glue etc on the new tool. Bonus if you can use something from a past project. Instant vintage!
AWESOME! Good morning. Have a fantastic day and weekend.
Looks awesome 👏 😎. Mike don’t used a roller on your cabin you will be picking a lot of fuss on your wood if you do. You get better stain absorption if you brush it and more even color . I worked in a paint store for more then 20 years. Your doing it right.
One major challenge to making a door like this is to make it on a flat surface so it doesn't have a twist . Looks great , nice work .
For a first crack at making the door, you did a very good job mate. Nice sander too.
If I could paint that fast i wouldn't mind it so much!Love the door ,beautiful work!
Nice looking door. You never forget your first time Mike
Easy now....lol
Mike, When we made barn doors all that cross bracing, which you did such and excellent job of fitting in place, would be the inside of the door. The smooth side goes on the outside for the best water run off. Also it seems that you haven't tilted your window sills for water run off either. But I do like the colors. Can't wait to see the little wood stove put in.
Mike I got such a kick out of your response to Melissa regarding the sander. “I’ve had it for a long time at least a couple hours “ I had to show my wife this clip because I say that same thing to her as well. Love your videos.
Excellent job Mike. An inspiration.
greatest intro ever
Thank you, that's very sweet!
Well done. I'd be very happy with that, especialy as it was a first timer.
Your woodworking skills are very good. Nice project that will look great on the mini cabin!
Great job on that door Mike! You were right Melissa didn’t miss the sander!
Carpenter or not the door looks good Mike! Keep up the good work!
Good work !!! You should be proud of your work !!! Screws may be a little close to the edge , but good work !!!
Really talented trim carpenter told me once that the nails in things like this are there to hold it together until the glue dries..... but this door looks awesome!
looks pretty good for a first time
That is a very nice door. Will be much better than a store bought one.
Great job Mike. Have to have the right tools
