My sets (Lion Knight's Castle, Yellow Castle, and most importantly, 12V train tracks) cannot be mounted on MILS plate and I am not into building a city with modular buildings. Its modular feature has no value to me.

One important color you never mentioned is white. A lot of us wanna do a Winter Village, THEN change out our display for the City modular Buildings. I have come to the conclusion that to find the true best cost is to calculate the price per stud, vs per piece. Like for example, the 4x4 plates have 16 suds, divide that by the 9cents and you get a more accurate price to figure out if you want to use larger plates. A 6x8 comes to mind.
MILS is definitely the best way to make a diorama tho. I have a bay window that is just calling out to be used for this.

It's less than 14€ in pieces (for a 32x32 area) in my case; I use 4 of those 16x16x4/3 technic bricks (which I buy from Lego) and 12 technic pins (cheaper on bricklink but I have thousands so I'm good lol)
Do I find 14€ cheap? Not really but, considering I'm gonna put 200€ or more worth of lego on top.. yeah I think it's worth it xD
I do not use these big blocks (or at least not to cover the whole baseplate) when I wanna build anything bellow sidewalk level, obviously.

Should anyone stumble onto an old LEGO element gold mine.....
    Beware of the Samsonite bricks!
Some age well, except for the clutch/grip.
Somewhere, the chemical vs decades make the brand of bricks
sort of de-gas or shrink. A real explanation like that exists.
Use all the "fill" of whatever for a build, just watch the older
brands of Bloks/Bricks, the things could be an investment and
    building hell trip.

Off-brand baseplates have an odd tendency to not quite be measured right, but using compatible bricks like GoBricks is a great idea for the actual bricks in the middle of the sandwich since they tend to have a much tighter clutch than lego.

How do you pick a good buyer from brick link I’ve been buying mines from Lego and it has been really expensive the four by fours are like $.20 apiece and the 2 x 2 bricks are I believe $.15 apiece

    • @LittleBinsandBricks
      @LittleBinsandBricks  2 роки тому +1

So I put in what I am looking for, 2x2 brick for example and then I select used (unless you need new but not necessary at least for the insides of the mils plates, then select quantity you want, then select more options and add in US (unless not in the US) and then search! I put in 600 used and came up with .06 brick, dark purple. Now if you need a certain color, you’re at the mercy of that color but you can first select the color before putting in the other parameters. 4x4 plates I generally want new and right now they are pricey for basic colors as you have seen. Bricks bricks and brick cash are your big sellers. Hope this helps some!

Yea it’s changed a whole lot in price over the last year. Inventory has gotten used up and like everything, prices are going up. As nice as it is… if you aren’t taking them to a convention or wanting to do a ton of electrical stuff, I think they are fine the way they are. To be honest, in some situations, using mils is a bit of a pain! You really have to want to build in rows.

Sister, I am starting back to LEGO after nearly 25 years since having last played with LEGO as a child. I've already bought a few Modulars (Daily Bugle, Assembly Square, Police Station), and viewing pieces on LEGO Official Bricks and Pieces, buying 65 of 2x2 Bricks, 8 1x4 Technic, 8 2x3, and 64 4x4 Plates runs more around $30+ dollars! So I don't know where your finding these cheap prices of around $6 to build a MILS Plate is BS! I am looking at the cost of the available parts this moment (Only Best Seller Pieces Available right now as Standard pieces is currently unavailable/Closed) being around $30+ Dollars, and yet i am STILL going to be converting to MILS as it's that big of a difference to your city and the move-ability of your city!
