Nice shave man! Props for trying it! I think it goes to show that a slick lather is more important for a good shave than a super cushiony lather! With good technique of course haha
Hey Matt! Thanks so much for watching. Always appreciate you man! Yeah, had to give this one a go since this puck has been doing nothing but collect dust in my medicine cabinet. Guess I’ll have to keep it around instead of tossing it lol. I agree with you, “cushion” is definitely a metric that’s not really important when it comes to shave soaps. It has nothing to do with how a soap will perform, it’s more of a personal preference (as a soap snob like myself 😂). Hope you enjoy your weekend my dude!
Decent looking lather from that PAA shampoo puck. I have heard of some shavers using hair conditioner and also Sorbolene cream (Glycerine based moisturizing/barrier cream) but they don't tend to make lather, I don't remember trying them myself. Actually I use "failed" shave soaps/creams in the shower for shampoo/body wash (although I don't really need shampoo👴😂) rather than toss them away and any unwanted good soaps I will normally PIF to members of the local FB group (I also do a collection consolidation purge every now and then). Luckily I rarely get Frag burn from shave soaps. Have a great Weekend Aaron🤟🤠🤟

Definitely better than my experience with Williams mug soap haha. Interesting that some people use that hair conditioner. I suppose it gets the job done well if it’s all you have around. It’s slick, and that’s really all you need for a passable shave. Interesting to hear that you use your failed shave shave soaps in the shower. I’m gonna need to give that a go sometime! This puck has just been collecting dust in my cabinet for like two years, so I’m happy to be getting some use out of it again. Surprised at how well it worked out. I think if this was the only choice someone had for a shave soap, they could get by with it. It was certainly better than my experience with Williams mug soap. Have a great weekend and take care!
I have that shave soap and I love the scent! I wish I had gotten two tubs. Great shave! I will need to break mine out and have a shave with it! I hope they do re-release it again!

@@justlinscott4077 thanks so much :)! Will do! I think one of the big shave southwest soaps is still available. I sampled one of the aftershaves and it was awesome. But with PAA so much comes and goes. It sucks. The inventory is constantly rotating. But big shave East definitely deserves a re release.

Usually expect any bar soap, skin cleaning soap, shave soap, hair shampoo; to serve well for wet-shaving purposes. That is "usually". The one thing that may be a problem, depending on how it is for any individual person, is any post-shave irritation. Lather may be poor, or fair or good, but what really is critical is the presence of irritation from use.

A soap is a soap at the end of the day, it's just the high end shave soaps have a lot of lubricating/skin food ingredients added. Hope you have a great week!
