As someone who just got a tslim pump, I’m in love. It’s still crazy to feel how light and small it is

LOVE my TSlim! I got it 3 months ago and have never looked back. I used to have Medtronic which I wasn't a fan of. A1c has gone down. I LOVE how it is integrated with G6 and BASAL IQ. It stops giving me insulin in the night if I go below 80 and the best part is I don't even wake up, it suspends insulin and then restarts it. I've had no lows since BASAL IQ. I have an alert on if I go below 70 which hasn't happened since BASAL IQ.
We are getting this next year when we are due for a new pump! We are on the animas vibe

I have a question for everyone I am a 14 year old girl who is not diabetic. I want to be a pediatric diabetes educator, a endocrinologist, or a diabetition would any of you guys actually get treatment from a non diabetic?
??? None of my doctors, endocrinologists, nurses, etc. have ever had diabetes. You do not have to have a disease to understand and treat it. How many cancer patients are treated by doctors without cancer? My endocrinologist tells me what to do. But I still doubt him because I know he does not have diabetes and therefore cannot really know what I am experiencing. What the doctor says is correct, but I still and will always doubt it. Can't be helped. My Minimed 670G pump trainer was diabetic and used the 670G pump. That was very helpful because she knew the technical aspects of the pump and really living with it on a daily basis. She made suggestions to me that can only come from being diabetic and using the pump. That mattered. But not overall treating of diabetes.

I have had Medtronics pumps for 20 years but have been looking at thenTslim and the Medtronics 670 g but they’re are a lot of complaining about the 670g and I love Dexcom 6
My last pump was a Medtronic and it malfunctioned. But I’m working on getting the t-slim and I’m so excited to try it out

Could you please do a video/ review of the pump? I have a Medtronic pump which uses batteries. I'm not sure how I feel about the pump needing to be charged. I would be so scared it would die on me and would have to disconnect it to let it charge :/
Don't judge a book by its cover, but you can definitely judge a pump by its box. And I will say the TSlim must be amazing haha. The box is so professional looking lol
Even thiugh its not yours and your just doing a trial base. Will you be showing a set up of it and what you would do to start it. And if you have any Pro's and Cons on this one compared to your current one. It does look neat
Just received T:SLIM X2 pump , watched couple of your videos before on-boarding to it. Little disappointed tconnect app in the phone is still not available. But it is ok. Dexcom gives reading and we can always use computer to upload data. Looking forward to it.
I'm about to make the jump to the tandem pump in the next few months. I've been with animas before and now i'm with Medtronic. I hear a lot of pros about tandem, can't wait to make the jump in june, hopefully!

The T:slim insulin pump is new in my country yesterday and I’m getting it in a few months.
I am sooo happy with my T:slim x2 I am totally excited about the G6 update and the possibilities of future updates.
I have the tslim x2 I love it. I’m so thankful to have it. Hope you enjoy it and you get yourself one as well. It’s an amazing pump and I love that you can also get updates for it as them come out another plus.

Great video thank you! I'm also not knowing which pump it's so hard! I was liking the DanaRS pump due to it being Android and trying to get it to a closed loop which I find interesting! I've setup AndroidAPS but no pump to go with it :-( so glad your getting your hands full! :-)

What insulin goes in Tandem? I am going to this pump from Medtronic MiniMed. I use Humalog.
Hmm I like this pump, I’m just not sure about the battery thing. God forbid I’m in a situation where the battery is low, and I don’t have access to a place to charge. Like say power outages, or traveling in less developed countries. I would feel more secure it there was an option to have both the charging function and battery function. There are some pretty small batteries out there that won’t really cause an increase in size of the pump. With this I can use battery in case of emergencies. I would put them in my home emergency kit, the car, and in what ever bag I’m traveling with. My family lives in Texas, and I’m just thinking with the 3-4 day power outage they are having, what would happen to me if say the power goes out and my pump only has like 50% or less battery. It only takes my a couple of hours to get really sick without my continuous basal flow....
I'm curious if it was 75% charged why wouldn't it turn on?

I’d go with pump. I recently switched from the Animas Vibe to the Medtronic 670G and I am not at all happy with the choice. The pump is great in the way it suspends before lows, but there is no comparison between Dexcom and Guardian. Dexcom is INFINITELY better. I’ve used the 670G for less than two months and wish I had given the T-Slim a longer look. I’m stuck with it for the next year! 😱
Absolutely hate this pump. I wanted to return it but missed the 30-day return because doctor kept canceling my appointments due to COVID. Now I'm stuck with it and can't use it. It cost me so much money and doesn't work well at all. The tubing leaks around the insertion site and s horribleI went back to using my old Medtronic pump.
Hi, Danica! I love your videos. Can you please tell us about your experience with the Tslim pump? I was thinking about going with a T Slim but I have heard others say that all their insulin needs had changed because this pump delivers insulin differently.
Congratulations on the pump! I've been T1D since Oct. 2014 and just recently got a CGM for the first time (Dexcom G6) and I'm planning to get the T:Slim X2 since it has the software update to work with the G6 and, in early 2019, will get some artificial pancreas type of software update as well! I talk to my Diabetes Specialist on Thursday to talk about moving forward with finally getting a pump.

Oh my, this looks amazing! 😍 It only recently got CE approval in the UK, I hope clinics start prescribing them soon! My Medtronic pump is so big and clunky, not great for running, this looks a lot more comfortable

You should definitely check out the Dana RS. With its ability for a (hybrid) closed loop it's in my opinion without competition.
The Tslim x2 has had the basal IQ update released. While it's not a true closed loop it's as close as it gets.

My daughter has T1D and she wants the t :slim because she doesn’t like giving herself insulin and doing finger sticks and you have a really cute dog🙂
For what we pay for these things you’d think the box and all the accessories would be a lot nicer
I’m 14 and I have the animas vibe. I’m not due for a new pump for another 2ish years but i got really excited about the Medtronic 640g and 670g. Recently my hospital told me that I’m probably changing to the Tslim but I really dont want to 😥
Just got the new dexcom yesterday. Put in all went well didn’t think I needed to test blood sugar. Went to bed feeling sick. Tested blood sugar was 420...dexcom said it was 130. Was up till 3am...called dexcom, they said it was faulty so they are sending me a replacement. Put a new one in and it seems to be within ten to thirty point difference.
My son is on the T Slim. He loves it. Very easy to use. A charge lasts 5-7days.

I ❤ my tandem pump. Just an fyi though... the gauge for the insulin is about 40-50 units off so you'll always have at least 40 units of unused insulin when you change cartridges. I always draw it out with the syringe and put it back in the vial.

Julie Anderson all you would have to do is when you are changing your old cartridge and take it off the pump, take the syringe and needle that comes with the tslim cartridges and stick it in the white fill hole but instead of filling it you want to do the opposite and extract the insulin that is left over in the old cartridge.

Omnipod is battery powered
I have the previous model, the Tslim G4. I have had it for 2 years with only 1 malfunction. The x2 will be syncing the Dexcom g6 anytime now. I have recharged it anywhere and everywhere. I have used portable chargers, wall chargers, USB port in my friend's car, etc. Thanks to the belt clip, I wear it everywhere. I will even tuck it in my cleavage. The one thing that prevented me from choosing omnipod is the amount of insulin it holds. It holds 200 units max, and I need my pump to hold at least 300.
I just got mine. Training via computer on Tuesday so I've been checking out videos and getting familiar. I've worn a pump and a CGM for years but Medicare won't pay for the brand I've been using. They will help with the Dexcom so that's why I'm switching. Learning new tech gets harder as I get older but I can do it. The videos will help.

You will LOVE Tandem tslim x2 insulin pump!!! I have used several pumps over the years and this is by far the best pump I have ever used! It is light weight and it is charged like your phone!
The screen is fantastic too! You will be able to get updates on the pump when they are available! That is HUGE because the pump will never be outdated but updated! 😉. It was fantastic when the Tandem paired with the Dexcom CGM!

Thanks danica for the video! I just got the Tandem t:slim X2, I have my training session in 2 weeks (it should've been earlier but Covid made me have to delay the training session). I'm on insulin injections right now. The pump will hopefully make my life easier and will make it a lot easier to manage my blood sugar levels. It sounds easy to learn with it being a touch screen. The part that I'm worried about that sounds complicated is changing the cartridges every 3 days. It will take getting used to but once I learn it, hopefully it will be a piece of cake!
Cool pump and with the basil iq it's really worth it. I wont consider it because once you go tubeless like the omnipod it really gives you that freedom that you dont get with tubed..especially when you have the Dexcom G6 used with the Omnipod Pdm
Is there any way to power the pump down?
Can't say I'd be much of a fan of sitting next to a power outlet for an hour every time my pump went flat. Much prefer the ability to change a battery cell and keep on moving. And with such a large "apple inspired" touch screen, you'd hope that the battery on this pump not only lasts longer than a few days or doesn't deteriorate over the course of 2 years (otherwise you're going to be stuck on MDI if you ever go camping in the woods)
I have noticed absolutely no decrease in battery life over the 2 years I have had my Tslim G4 (the previous model). I charge it as much as possible, but at a minimum of 5 to 7 days. With the Android cable, I am able to charge nearly anywhere and everywhere. When mine malfunctioned, I called up support and by 11 am the next morning, my replacement was at my door.

I'm in the process of getting my tslim X2 pump right now. My insurance is covering it 100% so once my insurance approves the claim I'll be a user of this pump. I'm so excited!

You will LOVE the Tandem pump! I have had mine for one year and it is FANTASTIC! The screen is color and easy to see and very easy to get to the information to make changes etc.....
It is lighter without the battery! I do not have any complaints about it!
Hopefully the Tandem pump will pair with the Dexcom G6 in the near future! But it pairs with Apple IPhones!

Jen M. The Tandem T:slim X2 pump will hopefully pair with the Dexcom G6 in the near future! I got the Tandem T:slim when I was using the Dexcom G5 and they paired together! I have the Dexcom G6 paired with my phone until the FDA approves pairing with the G6. Do you use the Dexcom G6? If not, take a look at it, for sure! It is SO fast and easy! It makes a BIG difference in managing your BG’s! I hope that you will LOVE the Tandem pump!

Hi, I’m looking into getting the tandem. I was just wondering if you can charge it while it is attached to you
My son was on the Animas. And when it was discontinued I toyed with getting the TSlim and even called the company but they couldn’t match the Medtronic trade in offer. Also the charging was a deal breaker. It take all of 5 minutes to change out a battery. But to be off the pump for an hour or two to have it charging cannot be all to safe. And what if you are traveling in some foreign country. Now you have to buy a European voltage adapter.
We charge our daughter's while she is in the shower or riding in the car ( while its on her hip still). It charges pretty fast and the battery has a good charge life. We really love it.
Same. I charge mine while watching tv or on my laptop while it’s still connected to my body.
I wish I could try one out to see if I like it before I switch....

To get a pump, you must get a prescription from your physician. After that, you can contact tandem directly to arrange insurance coverage and payment.

I’m thinking about switching from a Omnipod to Tslim. There are so many things I dislike about the Omnipod. I think I’d like the T-slim a bit more. I just don’t know where to start with switching?
If you're thinking about switching, call tandem diabetes directly. They will hook you up with insurance coverage, payment, supplies. If they can't fulfill directly, then they will work through their distributor that is covered with your insurance.

Pretty, cute and shiny doesn't mean it operates properly. For the purpose for which it was made. I'd settle for ugly and accurate.
I've had a T Slim for four years and I have no complaints. It recharges quickly. I'm looking forward to to the 2x also for it's predictive abilities;)
