The mechanism for moving the crawler's legs is genious! When I first saw the pictures I didn't even notice it.

Neither did I! I got the set thinking it was ok so I bought it (mainly for the mini figs) when the instructions told me to move it I was shocked! My dad said he didn't like it cuz it was to much like a real spider LOL
The minifigures are the standout of this set for sure. It's cool that we have a new comic-based Spidey figure, and the Vulture and Sandman (alongside their builds) are pretty cool as well. Though I'm especially glad that Spider-Man 2099 is finally now in Lego minifigure form.

@@crazyhamburgerproductions1542 I know it costs more for the print and this is the first of it's kind. The white spiderman 2099 is better in my opinion but this one is still really good like the infinity war iron spider, but better than the comic iron spider.

Wow the spider is cool. I think they did a good job on the spider man spider walker spider thing that walks just like a spider walks in real life as a spider would walk. The spider has to be my favourite part of this spider man set. SPIDER.😀

I wanted this set for the figures alone, especially Spider-man 2099 but you really sold me on the spider mech, the crawling action is fantastic and it looks decent, better than other vehicles we've gotten before and better than many other brick-built spiders. I love the Vulture wings and I love what they did for Sandman. A very nice set for sure!

The movement of the spider build looks awesome! Just, why does Spidey need a Spider Vehicle?... The minifigs in this are definitely the main attraction for me, but, the build is not bad at all.

Oh that’s an easy answer. This spider-man is based off the All New Spider-Man storyline of comics where he basically was a CEO of his company and turned into a Batman like hero for a bit using vehicles and whatnot and having a snazzy spider armor suit which the minifig for this set is based off of. As well as the vehicle that comes included. He uses it in a couple of issues.
When Doc Ock stole Peter Parker's body and became Spider-Man he had a private army that included quite a few large spider mechs.
probably something like the problem a while back lego had with star wars minifigs, they have to have an actual set, they really can't sell standalone minifigs (outside things like keychains) because it technically could infringe on the toy figure rights.
This is one set were the action function makes the set far better than what i actually thought it was. Not much for gimmicks but this here makes the set much more desirable in my books. Well done Lego!
Wow, this is a much better set than I thought it would be! I wasn't expecting much and when I saw JANG post the review, I was in no hurry to watch it. However, this is in the territory of "must buy" for me, now.
when they give Spider-Man vehicles it always feels weird but the way the legs move on this is awesome

I wasn't at all interested in this set (Spider-Man doesn't need a vehicle) but man, your review sure changed my mind! Two perfect Spider-Man figures, an amazing Sandman figure, and a great Vulture figure. All that and the brilliant Spider Vehicle mechanism! This is so well designed, Kudos to the Lego designers that worked on this set!
I certainly agree with you Jang. This rendition of Sandman is by far the most accurate in Lego form.

A much brighter response than I expected! I'm glad the spider is so nicely designed, but it really is hampered by being a Spider-Man vehicle. Pete doesn't need those blue and red machines.

I dont get this theme it’s Spider-Verse, All New All Different, and the Ultimate comics but anyway this is a great set definitly gonna use that Spider-Crawler for Peni Parker.
Why not use the spider mech for Peni Parker in the Venom mech vs. Spiderman mech?
I'm gonna use the Spider-Mech from the Venom set for my Peni Parker, and the Spider-Crawler for my custom Superior Spider-Man.
Ben Tanner because the Spider-Clawer looks like the Sp//der than the Mech (The mech looks more like the japanese show).
The Spider-Crawler is one of the best spider-man vehicles that LEGO has made imo. It feels more inspired and fitting to the spider-man character than a Spider-copter or a spider-cycle

I think the mechanics in this set are fantastic. But I don’t particularly like the vehicle I don’t really think Spider-Man needs them but anyway great review! I enjoy listening to your thoughts
One of the best actionfeatures i've seen in a while.
I'm gonna be honest, at first the vehicle looked like one of those 90's 'superhero, with some random bulky accessoiries and vehicles with overly bright colours' actionfigure things. (that i'm secretly quite nostalgic for) that bumps up the price of the minifigs.
But seeing it in action, like you said, turned all the way around. GJ Lego and nice review Jang.
Now that's a super cool set! The Crawler is much better than can be seen on the box, and the minifigs are very cool, Sandman is quite spectacular if you ask me, really well done! And that Spider-Man 2099 is impressive, very unique! And Spidey himself is also very nice, in all, I'm sure people are going to like the playability of this set, a win in my opinion!

The spider mechanism is spectacular! However, I agree with most comments, Spidey doesn’t do vehicles. It will be much better to include buildings for display or play.
All of the upcoming LEGO sets are so freaking awesome. I’ve never been so excited for a mass release of sets EVER. This year looks great for EVERY theme. To ninjago, lego movie 2, and even city. Man, my wallet is going to be so empty.
If only the crawler weren't built in such toyishly vibrant and clashing colors. I want a spider-crawler that looks a little more like an actual spider.

When I saw leaked pictures for this set I was almost sure it would be 50-70 with how much lego sells some sets i will buy it for sure ( when it comes out in my country that is which is summer )

JANG, just so you know, the print and symbol on the torso is different because that is not Spidey's classic suit. Its based off the Spider Armor MK IV suit that peter wore when he was the CEO of Parker Industries, however the suit was destroyed by Dr Octopus in later comics. I have a feeling the Spider Mech, Spider Cycle and this Spider Bot in these sets were all inventions produced by Parker Industries as well
Lego should have added boost functions for the spider crawler imo

Very cool looking set, but I've always been confused by the need Lego seems to have to give heroes like Spider-Man or Superman a vehicle when they are more powerful and mobile without it. What advantage does a spider-mech give Spidey? I'd very much rather more detail given to a villain, or a play area depicting a bank to be robbed, or a street for fighting.
The one thing that I dislike about the set is how much the spiders back part with the launcher doesn’t stay on

I managed to pick this set up for half off at my local Mastermind on Black Friday. I mainly got it for the villains and Spidey 2099 minifigures, but the crawler ended up surprising me a bit. I really like the way the limbs move but the actual colors on the thing feel a bit too "this is a kids toy" for me to display sadly, so I'll probably be scrapping it for parts and building a black and trans-neon nexo vampire looking version.

The spider crawler has a very technic build. I'd say even Bionicle level of cleverness.
Rahsaan Footman technic designs are much more clever than bionicle's tbh

unless you have read the Spider-Man 2099 comics you would know that his suit is actually black they even say it in the
story all the time like "get that guy in the black suit". it's because back in the 90's blue would not contrast well with the other colors and it would be hard to see him, so they made a excuse for the story saying because he lived in the future is was really neon so it would make the suit look blue and the black would be the color of the suit while the blue was the shadow not the main color as most people thought, anyway there's a fun fact for you all

im happy that lego can reedeem itself. maybe they can make a comic iron man line of legos. But i doubt it because a comicon exclusive iron man already done that and its quite rare so it'l defeat the purpose of having the rare minifig

For 40 dollars I came here for sandman. But looking back at Lego marvel superheroes 2 I also came for spiderman 2099. Wish it was cheaper

I really wish they'd do more set pieces for Spider-Man, like the bridge and the infinity war set. The vehicles don't ever really make sense...I know this is kind of a derivative of the vehicle Spider-Man used at the beginning of his 2015 run, but idk. Feels kind of wrong.
