The €160 price for the Interaction Extension works out to $207 CAD (Canadian dollars). A basic starter set is down to $85 CAD. If I bought both, I would pay $292. In addition to the power components, the Power XXL set also has pieces that I want, but don't have, such as the small clear platforms, 3-way vertex and fancy curves. Let's say that I value those extra pieces at $50. That would make spending $350 CAD on the Power XXL set reasonable for me. Unfortunately, it looks like it will be at least $75 more, given the rumoured $330 USD price ($427 CAD). Ravensburger may be testing the limits of GraviTrax fans with these prices. In any case, I'm looking forward to seeing what the GraviTrax community does with the GraviTrax Power components.
Given that the $330 USD price has been announced in several of the press articles (see video description for links), I'm going to suggest that the least expensive way to buy either the Power XXL or the Interaction Extension is purchase it from one of the European Amazon sites. At least I know Amazon.de ships across the pond. Even with the extra shipping, it should be significantly less. The going exchange rate is approximately 1 USD to 1 Euro. www.amazon.nl/Ravensburger-Interaction-Elektronisches-Kombinierbar-Produktlinien/dp/B09T5RVSGF
I had the XXL Park for 210 euros, so I think that it was valuable as my son always needs more tiles, among other things.Considering « normal pricing », I think you would be right. Thanks for the job, it must have helped a lot of people.
Yes, all of my recommendations are based off standard pricing. But when a deal can be found, that’s great! Especially in Europe, more deals can be found. 👍🤠
Obviusly the extension set. If it is too much expensive always can purchase elevator and "electric moon" by separately for 27$ and give "power" to your tracks with out a expensive waste😁
The Start and Finish accessory comes with a trigger as well. I normally recommend buying the Interaction set from Amazon (.de) because it's usually so deeply discounted on that platform there that it is still worth the extra shipping cost. Then get your starter set parts by buying one of the many regular GraviTrax starter sets.
Hi, thanks for your video, as it made me realize the Power Switch set was not worth it, so I exchanged it for a launch set. Quick question: at @2:53 you are saying the target arena is nice as the base can be lifted up to go back into the launcher, but I don't see exactly how... would be interested as I guess it would be a nice way to get an infinite loop?
You can pick up the rimmed insert of the target arena out of its base. It’s an easy way to lift the marbles en masse and then roll them out the insert’s entrance/exit back into the launcher. Like pouring a cup of tea. For an infinite loop you need either the Power Elevator or Lever.
@@MaskedMarble oooh nice, ok, got it! Now, I also got the Elevator, but I am not sure how to properly connect it to the launcher. I get there is no "official" way and it would be more of a hack?
@@MaskedMarble yes, I was simply wondering how to connect anything (not only the elevator) to the launch element, which is made to be fed "by hand". I have not seen (yet) videos showing how the launch element could be placed *after* (or under?) another one. But I am sure there are ways, maybe with rails that have holes ofr instance.
@@cedricsimonakafrozenjazz You can make your track drop marbles in the top of the launcher. Use an o track or the top half of a flex tube, or a vortex. Then you can make an endless track.
Thanks for the great video. My son wants the power pieces. We already have a couple sets. I will probably get the stater XXL set because we need a small clear platform. Any tips on other ways to obtain that small platform? Seems really hard to find, most sets have the large one. Thanks.
Check out my video on GraviSheet. In that video’s description is a link to a Google Sheets spreadsheet that contains all of the GraviTrax set contents side by side. In the Set Contents tab, scroll over to the column for the small clear platform, and then scroll up and down to see which sets it is in. It is not in the XXL set., but is in the Power XXL set (Ravensburger lost its mind naming 2 sets the same name.) The spreadsheet also contains many track codes which can be loaded into the free GraviTrax app for building instructions.
YW. There was a sale on the Speed set for $51 earlier in the week, but seems they took that down. Maybe it was a price error. That set has 2 small platforms.
The 2 POWER sets I have seen in the US are the Launch, and XXL. But buying the Interaction Extension from amazon dot de (German Amazon) and shipping it overseas was usually the most cost-effective means of buying GraviTrax POWER. The Lever and Elevator have been available insividually, as well as Start & Finish and Swtich & Trigger. Not sure what the vertical one would be? I have not seen the POWER Switch starter set for sale.
@@MaskedMarbleI just gave my son the power launch and just just bought the power xxl from Amazon for $154 today now I need to figure out what none powers sets are best he wants more pieces
More POWER pieces, or more basic building pieces? If POWER, you usually can't beat buying the POWER Interaction set on Amazon (.de) for €85 plus €25 shipping, which is less than the $140 it costs from Amazon (.com).
If your son is 10 or over (or has good manual dexterity), take a look at GraviTrax PRO Extreme Starter set for $86 (here's my affiliate link to that set: amzn.to/3Z6NB2j). I have a review of it at ua-cam.com/video/OccztLsNGUs/v-deo.html.
I wouldn't mind having 3x Dome Starters, so I can fire off 3 different directions / tracks. I hope there will be a way to buy these without having to get the controller (which you only ever need 1) and even the triggers (which you probably only need 2).
Good point! Unfortunately I don’t foresee a dome starter being sold without a controller. I could see how 3 triggers could be useful with 3 dome starters, each pair set to their own channel.
@@MaskedMarble oh wait - is there a channel switch or something? Like, if you had 2 controllers, could you program the red buttons to each activate a different device?
All the power elements except for the elevator can be set to a choice of 3 channels. For example, pressing a red controller switch or having a marble go through a trigger set to the red channel, will activate all the dome starters, levers, and switches set to the red channel.
@@MaskedMarble Ah bummer haha, I hoped for a second that you could have "different" red/green/blue channels, as to give a use to a second (or third) controller. But it sounds like red is always the same red channel, and if you had 2 controllers, they wilo do exactly the same thing. (I was hoping to have one controller set to 3x dome starters, each on a different r/g/b channel, and then another controller set to 3x switches on separate channels, etc.)
