Dear Inbal... I should have written this at least a couple years ago, when I first found you here performing Mister Bach's Cello Suites and preludes. I have seen and heard a variety of cellists, professional and amateur, many of them overly-theatrical or playing too many of the pieces like they were road races, perform these suites over the past six decades. But never in my life have I seen and heard anyone play these so-very-lovely suites with as much emotion and "heart", or with so lovely a touch, as you have. I have a particular love for this Allemande, for his prelude to Suite No. 1 in G-major, and especially for his Prelude to Suite No. 3, which you played so beautifully for that private gathering at around Christmas 2019. I cannot possible count the number of hours that I have spent, in complete bliss, watching and listening to you perform these beautiful works, over and over again, by the amazing Mister Bach. And I would bet that, if he is able to look down from Heaven and see you perform his works, he must have tears of joy in his eyes. Thank you so very much for sharing with all of us this so-beautiful music, and for your superb Masterclass tutorials, which have taught me so much about this beautiful instrument and your techniques for bringing out the beauty of it's sound. I am an "amateur" pianist, but am now learning a piano adaption of the Prelude to his Suite No.1. Not so easy. 🙄😊 Me ke aloha mai Hawai'i... 🌈🌴🌹⚘
@@Inbalsegevcello I play this on violin from time to time - I use this interpretation as a guide, but my playing nowhere near the way you perform this of course! I do dream of being able to convey as much feeling in the piece as you can do! Maybe one day...
A year passed, I discovered your Bach's Allemande rendition by accident - yet since then it took a life on its own imprinting such wonderful emotions in me and now it has become a most listening journey every time I get the chance to do so. Thank you so much Inbal Segev for giving us your enormous talent and vision of Bach's work. Cheers !!
I'm a hobbyist classical guitarist in NYC and I just sent this to my teacher. btw ms. segev I also loved the mini documentary about your recording of the Bach cello suites. it was just wonderful ☺
Thanks for keeping us sane (well, mostly) with your gift of great talent and providing the grand Manhattan backdrop! I have been playing cello for 2 years and it’s wondrous journey of diligence and progress. Bach is the mountain top!
"Hi, yes, I'd like to report a leak in the roof of my penthouse, about 3 metres back from my window". :-D Beautiful playing as usual - thank you for posting.
Bach would go crazy if he saw this video.. his music being played on top of a building in New York. The world must have changed so much compared to the 1720s, where he composed this suite.
Although I don't much care for the visual setting, I very much admire this beautiful performance. The tempo seems to me to be perfectly judged, which is not always the case in this allemande. (With hindsight, I think that my own performance on UA-cam drags a bit)..

@@Inbalsegevcello One of the best performances I've heard to date, as sensitive as that of Pierre Fournier, nothing less, you are very inspiring, bravo!
Two years later just look up Bach Suites for solo cello. Six suites consisting of 6 movements each, 36 “songs” in total ranging from a few minutes each to a bit longer. Total masterpieces for cello. If you’re talking sheet music, check out IMSLP online.
..an amateur horn player here, trying to put “transcription” for my single horn in F (handed from my son ten years ago) and watching at her ten min playing AB in repetition in “quasi adagio con tranquilleza” tempo.. ten minutes of breathing, tooo much air, hey, it is not for horn, not for voice… trashed the music… hysterically got it back!. Playing, yes. Yes…
Well... if you have a problem with this beautiful recital by Inbal, then let me suggest that you go find a recording of a far-lesser cellist playing it in an echoey concert hall or some sterile sound studio, if that would make you happier. 🙄

Such Inspiring and beautiful playing! Thank you Inbal!
Exquisitely played. What a beautiful piece of music.
This is such a dreamy, beautiful piece. So perfectly interpreted. Inspiring and elevated. Thank you so much. 🙏🏽❤️🎶😍
Somehow sad and melancholic too. This allemande is my favourite piece from these 6 suites.
An amazing performance! This should have gotten a lot more likes!
Thank you TheOneRaf😊

Wonderfully profound, free yet disciplined, amazing playing with rhythm formations. Always feel where the main beats are.
One of the most exquisite interpretations of this piece. Thank You.
Hi Sinbal, I wanted to congratulate you on how you deal with your Bach that transmits serenity and joy👏👏🌈🌹
Thank you so much!!
Inbal, your playing is so beautiful. You make that cello sing with so much passion. I am glad I stumbled upon your channel on youtube.

Beautiful 🌹❤️ 😎
Everytime I see your video, I get lost in your beautiful looks and peaceful music.
Wonderful!
I'm learning this piece for the first time. I really appreciate this recording in particular the thick cello sound and upbeat tempo.
This music is unreal.
So beautiful! My favorite by far.

Wonderful
The million dollar question is: How can this video have only 40K views?
Not many people listen and can appreciate J.S. Bach's music these days. Perhaps some find this music too complicated. I don't know.

Haha must have been my endpin
This is just fantastic. I just sent you an email regarding your cello work. Hope to hear from you soon!

So beautifully done. At this point, my teacher won't let me go past the 3rd Suite.
The 4th, 5th and 6th are very hard. Apart from snippets here and there I have not taken them on either.
Astonishing

Of courseeee it was registered in the roof of a skyskraper

why you didn't choose the violin?
Why didn't you choose the cello?
Your endpin might be damaging the waterproofing on that roof, ya know...

I’m speechless. Photoshopping a rooftop video with a studio performance; smh, ...is this what one must do to make a “parnosa” in the music ‘biz’-? 😥
