For people using iphone and facing this issue. I did change one setting and now this problem is solved for me. Go to settings>Accessibility>Touch>Call Audio Routing>Select bluetooth Headset here. It should be on Automatic in default settings. You need to change it to Bluetooth Headset.
@@AnkitKumar-yx1mv Tried this as well then shut off Bluetooth and restarted iPhone. Problem still there. other suggestions. Didn’t resolve the problem.
Tried all 4 suggestions. None worked. Can play music, listen to videos yet when a call comes in and routed to Bluetooth AirPods I hear no conversation yet caller hears me fine

One way I got to know today- Dial a call and let it be picked by another party. Then just + volume button. Make sure your bluetooth is connected.
