Okay I'm a guy and I love romance novels and I don't care about anyone. I loved how you explained your tier ranking and I can listen to your voice for a whole day and not get tired 😍.
I'm SO gonna start reading Birthday girl as soon as I watch this video! Everyone is always talking about this book on "Romance Booktube" but... 😱 I'm very convinced that I have to read it now😍
I am loving all the romance content recently! birthday girl is really calling my name 👀 but I’m saving it for December smutathon because I know it’s gonna be a quick read. and LOOOL Ice planet barbarians really was THE surprise of the year for me. Also I totally agree with you on the hating game and red white & royal blue! I’m sooo happy you introduced me to well met, but I’m so nervous about the second book, I’m really putting it off...Riley I really loved this video!! So many romances to add to the list 💗 (yikes that was a long comment sorry!)
talia hibbert’s indie books deserve so much more hype! merry inkmas is god tier imo and i loved radiance too.... but umm, i have barely read any of these authors so i think i need to play catch up.
Chloe Brown is just so great for the chronic illness rep. It was like a comforting hug and someone saying I see you. Also I still have Red as one of my fave leading men. But agree her other works are 🔥🔥🔥
Of this list I’ve read: The duchess deal, birthday girl, the kiss quotient, romancing the duke, josh and hazel’s guide to not dating, the hating fame, red white and royal blue, well met, beach read, get a life Chloe brown, the unhoneymooners, the wedding date, confess, the deal and November 9. I agree with almost all of your rankings except I’d switch josh and hazel and the unhoneymooners and I’d move well met down to where is the flavor and get a life Chloe brown up to pretty legendary. Totally going to read your other 3 in the top since we seem to agree. This was so fun! 😃
the tiers are highkey hilarious, I am living because of that 😂 also I just gotta utter a very unpopular opinion right now cause we are all here for that, aren't we? so I recently read Beach Read - I didn't love it at all and that made me really sad cause I know how many people adore it. I gave it 3 stars, it was fine, but where was the flavor is what I'm asking?
It's so sexual and I told my sister the title because she asked and I didn't know it would be so sexual. I just wanted to tell her how descriptive the first few sentences were, and a few pages later, I read about her worrying about sex and the guy having a sexual-related job. I always find some way to put myself into distress 😔
Definitely agree with the student-teacher trope being scandalous to me years ago but now that I've read Birthday Girl and Credence I realized how innocent I was back then. 😅 Loved the meme rankings 👏🏻
I am feeling as though you explain Talia Hibberts' book exactly what I was thinking. I feel like for me there is always something lacking with her books. Maybe I should read more of her independently published books. I read Guarding Temptation though, and I still felt as if the characters were disconnected somehow. I don't know what it is, but I just don't . . . ever connect with her characters. I guess it really is all about preference. I think I would have ranked many of the books similarly.
I haven’t read all of these but here are my rankings: • I would switch The Unhoneymooners and Josh and Hazel • Radiance - ok, I loved the romance but I didn’t like all the court politics (and I’m not a huge fantasy reader although trying to get into it)… I’ll put it in “pretty legendary” purely for the incredible respect those two have for each other. • Completely agree with The Kiss Quotient • The Hating Game - I understand why people love it but I would put it in “where’s the flavour” • The Duchess Deal/Series - I’m conflicted with this one because I loved the first book but didn’t really like the second. Haven’t read the third yet. But The Duchess Deal was the first historical romance I read which I wasn’t sure I would enjoy so I will put it in “pretty legendary” • Get a Life Chloe Brown - agree with where you put it, I thought they were very cute as good pals but I wasn’t rooting for them to end up together • Ice Planet Barbarians - Read this one very recently…. I mean, it was fun. I’ll put it in the “I am living” category • Red White and Royal Blue - going in the “I don’t hate it” category. Did not really like it but I didn’t abhor it • Beach Read - I’m going to put in “she’s the moment” because it’s my favourite romance I’ve read this year, although I agree with you in that the feeling has faded away a bit over the months. I think I would need to reread it to see if my feelings stand. That’s all the ones I’ve read! That was fun haha
Birthday Girl has been on my wishlist for a while. Can’t wait to read that one. Well Met, Christina Lauren’s books, and even The Kiss Quotient...good, but not my favs. I think Kiss Quotient was the highest rated out of those for me and looking back I would probably give it like a 3 star. Those just haven’t stuck with me the way they’ve stuck with others. I seriously don’t understand why people call Well Met a hate to love romance. I feel they were more annoyed by each other more than hated each other. 🤷🏻♀️
I 100% agree with you on Chloe Brown. Idk if you've read Dani Brown or Eve Brown yet, but they are 10x better in the romance department. The chronic illness rep (and Chloe) are incredible but the rest fell flat for me. Dani Brown is in my top 5 fave romances of all time now!
A Girl Like Her if you want to start one of her series! Guarding Temptation if you want something quicker! Or Mating the Huntress for a fun paranormal!
Absolutely agree with the colleen Hoover books I actually find it crazy that her top 2 ranked books are my 2 least favourite of hers! There are so many better ones! I've not read birthday girl but just read the synopsis and omg it sounds SPICY 😍
I also like the “earlier” Colleen Hoover books too but then, I stopped for good because of the Never Never Novellas - which are just totally money grab. Also, any man who is concerned with his GFs period is a winner (I’m saying this, and I’m gay) and I might read that book!
Yes, please read more of the Reaper's series! I actually DNF'd Reaper's Property on my first read because of the names, but the next books in the series were so good I was able to go back and actually finish it lol. It's definitely the weakest of the series.
See I didn't really see the hype with The Duchess Deal. None of the characters or the setting felt partcularly developed, wasn't my thing. Want to give Ice Planet Barbarians a go, it just sounds a lot of fun!
I haven’t read any Tessa Dare. I believe she’s historical romance and for some reason I’m just not drawn to pick those up. Do you have another recommendation?
I agree that Penelope Douglas is the queen of taboo romance, and that Mariana Zapata is really good in slow burn romance (Kulti ughh). Castle Ever After series is also gooood. But I notice that I really have some problems with traditionally published romance. didn't like The Hating Game (they're so childish and the whole thing of hating is just ridiculous and shallow-really, he didn't smile at me and the she hates him instantly?) Red, White, and Royal Blue also sits in the middle for me. As a gay person, I was kinda insulted by the progress of the romance. It tries to be so realistic and idealistic. And the hate to love progression is a bit lousy. Talia Hibbert is so phenomenal! Jasmine Guillory puts a bad taste in my mouth as well (arghh i even made it to Party of Two). Beach Read is a refreshing read! Colleen Hoover is a hit or miss. CLo alsooo. Just curious, do you read romantic suspense? There are also a lot of hidden gems in that subgenre.
this is the most fun i've ever had watching a top tier ranking.
I think that Chloe Brown and the unhoneymooners are very hyped! I felt very underwhelmed by them 🥱. Great video as usual 👌🏻
I feel so bad because I've been struggling to finish Get a Life Chloe Brown sooo much😔
"Then I read these 2 books and I realized I hate straight men" 😂😂😂 This. Is. A. Mood.
Riley channeling Megan with the memes
Dude, Riley, you look so FREAKING pretty in this video like that EYELINER omg and that LIP COLOUR *chef's kiss* perfection
omg yes!! Someone else that's read Transcendence! I bawled like a freaking baby when i read it
😂😭❤️
the ending
Also, LOVING how your she's in the moment are LEGIT romances, not women's fiction marketed as romance
I love your tiers! This was such a fun ranking video, very entertaining and just pleasant to watch xx would love to see more of these
Okay I'm a guy and I love romance novels and I don't care about anyone. I loved how you explained your tier ranking and I can listen to your voice for a whole day and not get tired 😍.
I'm SO gonna start reading Birthday girl as soon as I watch this video! Everyone is always talking about this book on "Romance Booktube" but... 😱 I'm very convinced that I have to read it now😍
hands down the best tier memes i've ever seen
Your ranking names are fricken *chefs kiss* phenomenal
Your categories are GIVING ME LIFE 🤣😍
Also totally agree about Beach Read. Seriously I'm on board with all your feelings 🙌🤣❤
'it's an automatic no for the love interest being named horse' EXCUSE ME WHAT??
I am loving all the romance content recently! birthday girl is really calling my name 👀 but I’m saving it for December smutathon because I know it’s gonna be a quick read. and LOOOL Ice planet barbarians really was THE surprise of the year for me. omg i can't wait to see what you think of birthday girl!!
I'd love to see a video about your favorite romance books by authors of color! (if you haven't done so already)
Love this video, love this book ranking, love your reviews! But now I have to read Transcendence. Oh boy.
I love this video! I think it’d be really fun if you did this with the books you’ve read with the lowest amount of ratings ☺️
talia hibbert’s indie books deserve so much more hype! merry inkmas is god tier imo and i loved radiance too.... but umm, i have barely read any of these authors so i think i need to play catch up.
Chloe Brown is just so great for the chronic illness rep. It was like a comforting hug and someone saying I see you. Also I still have Red as one of my fave leading men. But agree her other works are 🔥🔥🔥
Enjoyed the video , you have got that charisma girl!!!
I already love this video based solely on your category titles
Omg I remember your reading vlog when you read Josh & Hazel! You were so mad at that ending!
You should do this type of video for thriller or fantasy genres! Such a fun and visual video with your reviews
Hi. I'm new to romance novels but I'm struggling to find some good books with poc main female characters. Anybody have any recommendations?
Yay! Nobody ever talks about Radiance! I agree...it was perfect 👌🏾. Just finished the third one this AM and OMG....soooo good
OMG I loved the memes for naming the tiers 😂😂😂 I just added a lot of these to my TBR
I loved this video!! I bought Radiance immediately lol, I'm already 30% through and it's HOT AF
Great video! I need to try one of these!
Mariana Zapata is another diverse author on your list. She’s Hispanic. I enjoyed this video was so fun 🤗
Of this list I’ve read:

Fun 😂! Really enjoyed this and more books for my TBR!

This is literally how I feel about beach read
Well, Riley has talked me into buying a caveman romance. 😂
definitely do it! it made me feel so many emotions i was just crying for no reason it wasnt even sad it just warmed my heart sm 😭
This is so much fun to watch. I loved it so much!
Will always use that ranking from now on hahaha
This video was amazing and now I’m going to make sure I read all of those books that are the moment
The kiss quotient really is the moment 😍
It's so sexual and I told my sister the title because she asked and I didn't know it would be so sexual. I just wanted to tell her how descriptive the first few sentences were, and a few pages later, I read about her worrying about sex and the guy having a sexual-related job. The best tier titles of any tier ranking video.
Birthday girl is one of my favourites ever. I have reread it so many times haha
I think you’re right about Jasmine Guillory in that most people I’ve met who like her books aren’t huge romance readers and prefer women’s fiction
Definitely agree with the student-teacher trope being scandalous to me years ago but now that I've read Birthday Girl and Credence I realized how innocent I was back then. 😅 Loved the meme rankings 👏🏻
I love your categories, I can see why you and Meg are friends haha
The Off Campus is one of my fav series 🤭 I love them so much. Also birthday girl is 🤩🤩😍😍
I am feeling as though you explain Talia Hibberts' book exactly what I was thinking. I feel like for me there is always something lacking with her books. I really wanna pick up one of Talia Hibert's books. Which one do you think is her best?
A Girl Like Her if you want to start one of her series!
Guarding Temptation if you want something quicker!
Or Mating the Huntress for a fun paranormal!
@@RileyMarie_ I will add them to my wishlist ASAP! Thank you for the recs!! ❤️
I used to love the CoHo books but I find they are really hit or miss for me now. She’s still one of my favorite humans though lol
Absolutely agree with the colleen Hoover books I actually find it crazy that her top 2 ranked books are my 2 least favourite of hers! There are so many better ones! I've not read birthday girl but just read the synopsis and omg it sounds SPICY 😍
Coming in to say that Transcendence is one of the best books even outside of the romance genre and it’s a tragedy that more people don’t hype it up.
I also like the “earlier” Colleen Hoover books too but then, I stopped for good because of the Never Never Novellas - which are just totally money grab.
Also, any man who is concerned with his GFs period is a winner (I’m saying this, and I’m gay) and I might read that book!
I’m new to YA and NA romance and I loved Frigid by Jenifer L Armentrout
Oh come through with the Trinity the Tuck quote
Dude, if you liked Mariana Zapata, please read Kulti. It's amazing
Yes, please read more of the Reaper's series! I actually DNF'd Reaper's Property on my first read because of the names, but the next books in the series were so good I was able to go back and actually finish it lol. It's definitely the weakest of the series.
“Then I read these two books and I realized I hate straight men” relatable
Also, these tiers are perfection 👌🏽👌🏽👌🏽
Yes Radiance! Yes Tessa Dare!
Lukov with love!!!!!
what elle kennedy books do you like?
the outlaws series, it's a post-apocalyptic romance and its so good!
@@RileyMarie_ Thank you! I actually loved the series w/ The Deal, so I was curious about what you DO like by her. I'll definitely check it out :))
You should read Zoey Draven’s warriors of luxiria books 👌🏾
Confess and November 9 was my breaking point for Colleen Hoover too! The love interests were so infuriating
BEST VIDEO EVER!!!
Kind of weird that the two Colleen Hoover books that you seemed to be the most against were ranked the highest haha
We all cracked up over you say “moaning horse.”
girl, I love CoHo but November 9 is her worst book. I haven't read it in over 5 years and I STILL get ragey when I think of that hero LOL!
i am so happy that i found your channel xD I am loving to find all these books
Omg same with the two CoHo books 😂
See I didn't really see the hype with The Duchess Deal. None of the characters or the setting felt partcularly developed, wasn't my thing. Want to give Ice Planet Barbarians a go, it just sounds a lot of fun!
I haven’t read any Tessa Dare. I believe she’s historical romance and for some reason I’m just not drawn to pick those up. Do you have another recommendation?
Anyone who puts The Kiss Quotient at the top has TASTE.
Horse! 😂😂 Yeah, I wouldn’t be able to take that book seriously lol

these categories and the memes I'M DED
As someone who loves the Ice Planet Barbarians series, you have sold me on the caveman romance novel. 😂 #BarbariansandCavemenAreSecretlyFeminists
I enjoyed watching this a lot but my list would be all the opposite dky
"if you can give me a book where a girl has sex with her bf's dad and everyone is jus so okay with it, THAT is the moment" girl LMAOOO ily
Lmao that line 'no one deserves you like I do' in Confess made me cringe. How is that even romantic haha
ELECTRIC CHAIR YWRSYRSYR 😂😂😂
100% agree about the Josh and Hazel commentary! It was one the worst endings!!!
Also just a heads up that Casey McQuiston uses they/them pronouns!
thanks for letting me know! :)
💖
17:08 I choked
NOVEMBER 9 WAS DISGUSTING!!!!! WORST BOOK I'VE EVER READ.
Colleen Hoover books are not for me too.
Also omg, The Kiss Theif was disgusting for me too.
Where’s the flavour 😂😂😂
