This was, by a huge margin, my favorite reason to go on UA-cam. Thank you, Trey, for what you've done and will continue to do.
So, what I got out of this is that music is a contest, and winning contests is the only thing that matters.

Fantastic contest, appreciate the almost infinite amount of work you nailed on every post. Most of all the honesty, and picking the best songs and why you chose them. I just wanted to say something regarding this contest. This is a long one, so bare with me…
I submitted a song for this when it first started over a year ago, at least it feels like that already. I might have submitted around a month or so after it began, so I had a feeling my song wouldn’t show up on a stream for months.
I watched these videos religiously for like 6 or 7 months and never saw my song. Since I wasn’t sure why this was, I decided to just check to make sure it actually went through properly. I emailed the “webmaster” on the submission website to make sure my submission when through, because if it didn’t, I would just resubmit…not harm, no foul.
I received back nothing but radio silence. So, I guess I could have just resubmitted anyway? That makes sense, right? But then, two things…One, would I be outside of the rules if I resubmit? I don’t know. Would it even go through the second time? I don’t know. But I had no way of finding these things out since my inquiry email was completely ignored, or lost, or whatever.
So, after months of not hearing my music, I just threw in the towel and stopped watching. I don’t know if my song ever got shown on here, but I assume not because my submission was a UA-cam link and that video never saw an uptick in viewership. I just assume it never showed. This saddened me, and so this coupled with the apparent dismissal of my email inquiry, I decided to unsubscribe from the channel.
It ain’t even about the gear giveaways. I have gear, I don’t need anymore gear really, especially if you ask my wife, lol! I was mostly just looking forward to getting some exposure to some degree on UA-cam since my channel is basically nothing at this point. And it’s hard to get viewers outside of submitting to contests like this.
So anyway, I’m not looking for a response or anything, I just wanted to “leave a comment card” so to speak on how this contest was operated. Maybe it will help for future contests. Maybe it will fall on deaf ears. Who knows, but writing this was cathartic for me if nothing else, lol!
I am now signing off of this channel for good.
