Not really, russians are just as tired of being put into villain roles as middle easterners into terrorists because of amerikkkan xenophobia But ye, the questions in general were rather unoriginal
@@kodidane5824 The Russian government has been responsible for a lot of terrible things in the past. So has Britain's. And Germany's. Qnd Italy's. And Mexico's. And Australia's. And Columbia's. And America's. Most countries with any sort of power have done terrible things, but some have a stigma stuck to them that America continues to promote that portrays them only in a negative light. Just as it is important to have more African representation on screen, many ethnicities, such as Russian, German, and almost all middle eastern countries are made out to be horrible countries filled with only horrible people and violence. There are good people in all these places too, and media of all types is constantly referring back to certain ethnicities to be the bad guys.
No the interviewer made a good point the villains are Russian 50% of the time America has a thing about Russia. They're almost always Russian or German.
Historically American television and films have overwhelming made bad guys African American Latino, Middle Eastern and occasionally Asian. Russians and Germans are predominantly White and not particularly oppressed. So no one cares about making them the bad guys except the people of Russia and Germany. FYI on an episode of QI Emma Thompson remarked to Steven Fry, John Sessions and Alan that the Americans are always making the Brits play bad guys.
In a lot of spy films American and British, the villian is more often than not Russian. The woman interviewing them is Russian and said in the another interview that she was relieved to see a spy movie where the antagonist was not Russian. It was a bit more of a personal question as well as a question commonly asked by the actors except using other countries (i.e. what would Mexico's cover be)
@@DaftnPunk Ah, Mexico. I so wish they would make a Kingsman with Mexican Intelligence. I mean, we suck at it, and we are very corrupt, but I'd love it. We'd probably make good villains, too. But it would be a great excuse to have tacos in the film. Yay for tacos. :D
He is so nice
Pedroooo
LOVING Pedro’s shirt
Kinda disappointed in the questions. The ones about Russia felt out of place. However, Halle and Pedro are a lot of fun.
@bad dreams agreed!

@@justaboi4791 Its not xenophobia its history and experience.
@@justaboi4791 Hey, let's ask Ukraine how they feel about Russia. They've only got good things to say right now, right?

I love Pedro with all my heart, but I feel his personality is far too distinctive to be a spy. Then again, acting skills are needed.

Because our government sees Russians, Germans, and Chinese as competitors.

Villains in Hollywood films are usually Russian, Muslim, or Latino. It's a tired trope.

"Why do they always portrait Russians as villain?"
Meanwhile in Ukraine...
Pedro Pascal may be brilliant spy !
What’s with the Russian questions?

The interviewer kinda sucked, but Pedro....I could just look at him allll day long.
what a waste
Is he on drugs?
Nah he's just being Pedro
No that’s just how he is 😂
As a neurodivergent person, I get asked if I am on drugs a lot. Some people just behave differently
No… that’s just who he is
no he is an aries
