1 Cup Brown sugar
1 Cup Molasses
1 Cup Butter
1 Cup Milk
1 Nutmeg, grated
1 Teaspoon Cloves, ground
1 Teaspoon Extract of Cinnamon
3 Eggs

HELLO MR MUDBROOKER YOUR CAKE TURNED OUT PRETTY GOOD THE OLD WOOD COOK STOVE IS ADIFFERENT BREED NO TWO DAYS ARE A LIKE TO MUCH WOOD TO HOT YOU NEED A CAKE SAVER THAT MOISTEN THE INNER STONE WITH WATER AND IT WILL MAKE IT A LOT MORE MOIST AND TO MANY EGGS WILL CHANGE THE TAST IVAN FROM ILLINOIS.

A hint that I read in a wood cookstove book years ago said that if the tops of your baked goods are cooking too quickly and the bottoms are underdone, leave a coat of ashes on the top of the oven box when you clean the flues of your stove. I have always kept a good half inch of ash on top of the oven of the three cookstoves that I have used, and I find it makes the ovens behave much better and takes some of the work out of baking in a wood cookstove.
