On line UPS advantage 1.No break of power supply to the load 2.used computer and software systemS DISADVANTAGES battery consumption is High,it's control the load current *Offline UPS ADVANTAGE 1.LOW consumption of battery 2.suitable for home appliances like fan , switch... DISADVANTAGES 1.short break ( fraction of second Power off to on state) 2.not suitable for computer and software systems.

Sir: what is the need of rectifying and inverting (AC to DC again DC to AC) in UPS
Inverter Give DC after it convert AC So rectifier is used to AC to DC and Inverter DC to AC Battery Give only DC so AC to DC convert used to Rectifier
Battery charge only DC suppy. So rectifier is used to convert DC Inverter only give DC suppy and is convert AC. This is the operation of UPS
We need AC only ..so AC to DC to AC...(storage Battery mediator)
