HOW TO CREATE HALFTONE EFFECT | PHOTOSHOP 2022

- Hello! Welcome to this new tutorial, today I'm will show you how to create the halftone effect.
To create this type of effect, we need to apply 4 filters from the "filter gallery" section to the image.
But first, you need to prepare the image correctly.
First, we remove the saturation, transforming the image into black and white.
Then you have to increase the contrasts, the shadows and the lights.
I have used a "brightness/ contrast" and "curves" Adjustment
Go to filter, open "filter gallery" and here we can create our effect.
If you want to quickly modify this effect, before opening the filter gallery, convert your image in a Smart Object.
The first filter is RETICULATION, set density to 0, foreground to 2, background to 36.
Next is GRAIN, set intensity on 20, contrast on 34.
Now we can apply the halftone pattern filter.
In my case, I set the size to a low value (2), but you can raise it according to the effect you want.
Set contrast to 50.
The last filter to apply is film grain.
Set grain to 11, highlights to 18 and intensity to 2

Just a tip for whoever is watching, if the effect is not working and everything is black or white whenever you apply it, go back to the layers panel and press D, it should help.
can you explain better please? i have this issue, when i apply the halftone effect the photo turns completely white
@@youngtortu6337 just cancel the action, go back to the art board, the place you do everything, press D on your keyboard, it will reset the colors to black and white. Then then try again.

@@youngtortu6337 It resets the colors that u pick to a default black and white, if it was already black and white the issue was because the color white was "on top" when u went to the filter gallery because the filter is going to apply the white first and not the black. Thats why u go back and reset the color for the default mode.

reticulation: 0, 2, 35
start w black and white, better if smart object

Before you start creating the filter, make sure the colors in your left toolbar are black and white
when i apply the effect everyhting becomes light blue ?

Hi, you probably set one color to black in the left toolbar of Photoshop, at the bottom of this bar you will find 2 squares, you use these to set the color, you need to set two colors before you start creating the filter, you probably have a first color black and second white
@@thazero Thank You! I want to ask again, why do my halftones cover all the space? I mean even the white parts are dotted too, it's like giving a dotted texture to a black and white photo. Not like the lighting in the comics

Unfortunately you can’t because on mobile photoshop you don’t have the same filters gallery, I tried to use photoshop on iPad but it’s totally different and you don’t have a lot of function that you have on desktop version
