@@jenkemjones68its important to buy live shoots. The time between cutting the shoots and getting them in the ground needs to be minimised. As far as I know many types of willow can be used, that can also be used for pollarding. Look for a willow nursery in your area. There are many videos on this platform with how-toos so maybe those can help you along!
@@jenkemjones68The Weeping Willow in my area doesn't need to be rushed into the ground. It is one of the best natural rooting agents around. You can make other plants root with a tea from it's leaves & twigs. Perhaps you can find some wild Willows in your area?
@helentc Got them in the ground and they are growing quick.Already had to prune them after a couple of weeks to get the to grow outward more. They are corkscrew willows which I'm hoping will reach my goal of a privacy fence.
Nice work, I planted a ditch outside my house just three days ago with willow I was growing in my polytunnel for the last three weeks, all planted and watered again your work is fab.Cheers form Ireland Kildare.
I would love to build that larger stucture in my back yard but i'm asking myself how in the heck am i going to trim it down each year. Best guess I have for me would be to trim it back to just the side poles and let it grow into itself every spring.
idr the name but new company doing funky work with wood, reducing lignin(internal wood glue sorta) and other complicated stuff, they compress it to one fifth it's thickness. oh right the cost.. are you jeff bezos butt buddy? fuck friends with elon musk? no?.....well enjoy dreaming i guess, its new and extremely expensive and experimental.
Wow~! Wonderful! Questions... Can willows be planted into structure shapes if near a septic system drain field? How close can it be planted? If one does not have a pond near the willows, will they still survive...or will they need constant watering? Where can I find enough living willow cuttings to do a project? Has anyone put waterproof liners inside them? Anyone "planted a tiny house" using this tech?
Elizarobin Robinson I am new to gardening and plant propagation but they root easily without hormones. I've started soon dappled willows and will be starting some black pussy willows soon. Good luck.
I have had willow fencing for years...wonderful!

Roots can wreck septic fields and lines
Ich würde gerne sehen wie so ein Zaun nach 10 Jahren aussieht!

I don't think we can grow willows in my country but maybe we can try this with gliciridia which is used to make living fences.
willows are finicky. don't they need to be near a water source to thrive?
how are they kempt from drying out?
Really awesome ideas for making plant structure...Which plant are best to make this structure..?
Are you serious? Willow, of course.
There are hundreds of varieties of willows. Willowsvermont.com has a list of willows suitable for use with structures.

They actually have a natural rooting hormone in them already. You can make Willow Water to root other plants as well.
What kind of willow tree?
I thought you teach me how to make!
