Local Denver encaustic artist, Sarah Starling, debuts her solo exhibition at RemainReal Fine Art

Encaustic is one of the most interesting art mediums, and not a lot of people know much about it! So, the RemainReal team joined up with our resident encaustic artist, Sarah Starling, to learn a little more about the process and how she achieves her signature style of landscape artistry!
Sarah is local here in Denver, and her studio is bright, airy, and has the smell of fresh pine and waxes. She and her husband fixed up their enclosed patio space to be a unique space for Sarah to freely create! (And of course we cannot forget her studio assistant Penny the corgi)
Encaustic is a painting style that uses melted beeswax to create shapes and colors. By melting small amount of wax on her hot plate, Sarah can mix her ideal colors and apply them layer by layer onto a wood panel.
She then carves into them to create texture and remove imperfections!
