Your trucks are the right way. There two kinds, your's are "reverse kingpin" which point the opposite way of what most trucks on skateboards are like. So a lot of people probably think it's wrong, but it's good. Awesome build!
Yes Awesome. Might need a riser to avoid wheelbite though. - www.thingiverse.com/thing:1731039 Reverse kingpin is better for longboards - which this is. Well done.
neonboy22 Well I though about that but as it it better to as be closer to the ground as possible in the first leraning days, I thought it would be just fine without risers. I can always make a pair in a month or so and apply them...it's just a piece of wood with holes. :)
Get Hands Dirty hey get hands dirty, I was wondering if you could send me one of your made longboards and I could do a review on it! Tons of my friends would love to see this longboard! I’d make a review video on it and it probably could get you more subscribers :)
Nicely Done. In our school shop, my skaters use the X-Carve to engrave photos or graphics on their boards. They also include the truck locations in their Easel design so they can carve the mounting holes when they carve the board.
Man.... what a joy to watch your videos. The camera work. The crisp sounds (like dead silence and the little random pop of sound at 5:15; genius). The obvious talent and artistry of your wood working and vision. Not enough can be said. New subscriber.
I came to your channel for small room ideas for my sons room. Needless to say I've been here for 7 months, and find all your work very beautiful. Oh, haven't gotten around to his room yet. One day. 😊
You can typically find different truck mounting hole templates online, depending on the brand. I've had trouble making longboards in the past with plywood from the home store. It seems to work better over time when gluing up your own maple plys and pressing the shape/concave you want. Loved the video and the board looks great
Hey, I'm Zainab and I'm 15 years old and I'm from Canada, when found your channel i was really happy because I'm really interested in working with wood and big mechines and being creative, so i wanted you to help me by telling me what courses i should take and the subjects that would help me be like you in the future, I'm so impressed and inspired by your work. Thank you.
Hi Zainab :) So glad to see your message and to know you're interest in these things at a young age. Well, I studied art and got a degree in Sculpture at the Fine Arts Faculty, although that didn't really give me all I have. Most of it comes from myself and the fact I don't enjoy being still and quiet doing nothing. My head is always looking out for something to pull out to the real world and I am very self taught and self motivated to do things. I don't wait for anyone to ask me for stuff and at some point (about 6 years ago) I just fell in love with Makers UA-cam videos and suddenly wanted to get all this tools and create jigs and build up my work space, step after step. Nonetheless, the artistic background I have helped a lot in seeing the world the way I see it today and to try to go a bit further into the creative process and come up with something that's not just a simple tutorial video or project. (Also because of my personality - so this is hard to separate who I am from what I studied and the environment to which I've been put on) I typically put the aesthetical aspect first and then comes the function. Art is not supposed to have a functional purpose other than intellectual one, so I grew up creating objects that did have meanings and not functionality. That kind of lead me into what I am today, although I am currently creating more of physical purposed projects that are more related to design than art. So it became more of a mixture. I don't know which are the course options in Canada, but I hope this helps. Overall, whenever I want to do something, I search for it, so it made me become a bit more auto-suficient and auto-motivated than the majority of people, including in art school. So, my school route did matter but it wasn't just that that made me who and how I am.
thank you so much for your reply it did help me a lot and encourage me to do what I'm interested in and help me find my path in what i want to do in my career life. and I'm so happy that i found your channel and ill be notified whenever you post, and ill be also taking notes from all the information you give thank you so much again for your advice.
Excellent work I love what you do I am An Architect living in Mexico I also practice skateboarding and I have a carpentry workshop I do kitchens and I have a CNC and I am surprised by your work. All nice wood work
I'm going to agree with a few others. I liked this video, and at first couldn't pick why. It was chill. The lack of voiceover allowed me to pay attention to what was happening on the screen. It highlighted the detail you were putting into the project. It turned out great too. Damo
You should have drilled the holes on x carve when you were cutting out the board for better alignment. But the build looks great! And I like this raw style video! Great work!
Great build :) I'm sure you if you are just starting to skate or if you did it before, but anyway it could help one of the viewers... Get the right bushings (the rubber barrels that keep you trucks straight if you don't put weight on the board) for your weight, it changes the whole 'feel' of your bord and most Truck companies put some cheap hard bushings on there trucks :( Since you wrote in some comments, you didn't know the placement of the holes for your trucks... The holes are always in the same distance look for 'Truck drill templates'
Well done young man great board. I was a very keen boarder back in the 70s/ 80s Ive still got my kyptonics from back then. Considered a longboard myself but at 53 years old feel a bit silly but its in my head
Well I bought a 36" longboard and put my kryptonic wheels on. Went for a cruise and it came straight back to me as if I had never had a break until I decided to go down hill, got halfway down and thought how am I going to stop I can't powerslide because I couldn't get down on my onkers lol needless to say I wiped out big time. It's been two weeks and my ankle is still hurting and stiff lol. I can't wait to get back on the board but need to heal for now and my wife and daughter have banned me from hills hahahaha. My daughter was with me when I came off and was horrified, what I can say now I'm 13 stone and when you come off at speed it bloody hurts alot and not very graceful lol
Normally I watch your video on hi volume to hear what you say. In this video you don't say much but "you say it best when you say nothing at all" Nice work
that longboard looks amazing, great design... side note... aos 6:10 acho que podias ter usado um tubo para inserir o rolamento uniformemente dentro da roda, com essa vareta de madeira e a meter aos poucos podes correr o risco de o estragar... mas acho que nao teve problema, de resto, muito bom.

Your*
And now and here I learned something new. Thanks for pointing that out - I was about to comment on the trucks. Cheers! JM

beautiful to watch and awesome result . Yes trucks are perfectly alright, as longboards do...
I know nothing about skateboards but you always finish everything so well! Love the designs too! :)

I liked this style with just the shop noises. I did have to check if my volume was down because I didn't hear your voice though. 😁
Brian Prusa ahahah i'm glad you liked this calm style as well :)
Man.... what a joy to watch your videos. The camera work. The crisp sounds (like dead silence and the little random pop of sound at 5:15; genius). The obvious talent and artistry of your wood working and vision. Not enough can be said. New subscriber.
Amazing! I like your calm workflow 👌🏼
Dude I love just hearing the machines and the natural sounds
I am really impressed. That looks like a company board.
I came to your channel for small room ideas for my sons room. Needless to say I've been here for 7 months, and find all your work very beautiful.
Oh, haven't gotten around to his room yet. One day. 😊

The longboard look awesome...
I wasn't expecting an ASMR when I started looking into this topic. But that was SUPER relaxing.
I love what the wording says “Then let’s ride all night” your so creative, keep up the amazing work 😍🤙
it's from a Parov Stellar song "All Night"
Cinematography rivaling that of Casey Neistat, yet unique. I love it!
Nick Colvin
