I'm watching this with my 5 months old boy in my arms, my hands itching to try it, but it will have to wait 😁. That's the effect Felix's videos have on me, they make me want to try out myself whatever project he works on at that moment. And once I hear his trademark "Hello UA-cam!", I instantly smile because I know something good will follow. Thank you, Felix, for everything you do! Peace out from Romania 🗡️
Hello Felix I’m enjoying your videos very much. There is good humour as well as good skill tips. I think “enough blah blah let’s get on with the work” is a great catch phrase for you. There’s something about the way you say it and the current zeitgeist that gives it more layers of meaning. Anyway it made me laugh 😆 Thank you for your videos.
Wood carvers who make and sell cups to others not wanting to make their own is one thing. Making one in the forest you are camping in is another story. Making your own is much more special than one you buy. That’s point so called experts seem to forget. You proved this point quite easily.🎇👏🎇🍻
Agree ,those things you make out there ,you cherish more
LOVED the bush craft marking guide. You are a genius!
Thanks a lot for this wonderful compliment!
Felix is the best on the Net!
Wowww, thank you so much!
Felix, you're a bright spot on UA-cam. 🇨🇦
We are so blessed to have you. You’re thinking, you’re approach and open-mindedness is exactly what we need! Thanks! TC 👍
I really like your practical approach to bushcraft, we have a lot of the same ideas and it's awesome to see you putting them into practice!
Very interesting, Felix! I like videos where you don't know what the result will be, so you are discovering alongside us.
Thanks a lot!
My first cup was from pine (pinus brutia). I made it with only 2 hand tools (victorinox camper, and kirschen carving chisel). I like your way of thinking (out of the box). Greetings from Greece..
A craft to build with my grandchildren! I have a few acres of woods on my property in the foothills of the Massanutten Mountains in the Shenandoah Moutains and my sixth son has a few acres on his farm in the Highlands of the Allegheny Mountains. Tomorrow or next week.
Good luck dear David!! Greetings from Switzerland
@@FelixImmler greetings from the Shenandoah Valley of Virginia! Woods, forests, green hills and rich farm land mark the spot from Google Earth!
@@davidbenner2289 We are planning to go to Jerusalem - there is an old castle Latheron, amazing place, there I want to do all that stuff!! Cheers from the Holly Land (Israel, Jerusalem)🔥🤪
@@siegfriedwashburn3484 I lived in Cyprus and Lebanon from 1961 to 1964. But, never visited Israel. I wanted to take my wife on a once in a lifetime visit to Israel but waited too long. She is in the final stage of Alzheimer's. Can a man fall in love and stay in love with a woman being a paranoid schizophrenic, for over 47 years? Yes! And she was a higher level genius IQ. My weakness is super intelligent women! I have given thought to buying a winter home in Haifa, up high, facing the Mediterranean Sea. I probably have 30 to thirty-five years of life left in me. Maybe one day I will visit. I'm too conservative to live in Israel. But, first Switzerland and the professor himself, the Genius Felix Immler! I would have to meet him and take his family out to dinner a few times! Switzerland does not know the they have in him! Japan, my birthplace, has "Living Treasures" of the master of the masters of their various crafts and arts. Switzerland needs to do the same: having Mr. Felix Immler as one if them. His craft? His art? Mechanical and instructional genius! If I were in combat, I would rather face a company of Russian commandos with only my barehands than armed with a match grade Remington 700 in 7.62 NATO facing "Field Martial" Felix Immler armed with a Victorinox Swiss Army Knife! It would be over for me fast! And he would have courtesy to carve my name into the wooden cross marking my grave. Lol! A platoon of men like Felix Immler only armed with Victorinox Swiss Army Knives could subdue the World! Or bring about World Peace! Why hasn't he received the Nobel Peace Prize? That is the question needing to be answered! Enjoy fully your trip to Israel. May God bless you and your group.
@@davidbenner2289 My best wishes to you!!👍 You are awesome!
I like the idea that if you don't have what you want, you work with what you have. Nicely done!
Nicely executed Felix.
The resin part is what to avoid,I use frequent pine wood .
Using for food preparation, never had any issues with it
Thank you for being so open minded 🙏🏼 and for sharing your skills with the world!
You are so welcome Conrad!
Thank you. Excellent video, as usual for you. Your editing showed us the important parts of the process without boring us with 90 minutes of you carving a cup.
I would like to see the cup again in 3 months to see how it holds up.
Wonderful video. Really enjoyed it. Half of the people on the internet don't know what they are talking about. Great job and God bless.
Thanks a lot for your visit on my channel dear John!

Hallo, Felix!
Thank you Felix ..you are very good HANDYMAN . I also carved or made a lot of hardwood Thx for this tips and video ..GOD bless you and keep going buddy! greetings from Canada . 👌💕🍻🌿🍁🍷✌
Next week - let's do some beer with honney and linden. And drinking from those mugs! I gonna try it in my October trip to the crusader's castle 🏰!👍
(Just recently found your channel)
I've been carrying a swiss army knife for almost 30 years , but watching your vids I realize how much I still have to learn
Thanks for sharing your knowledge :)
Thanks a lot for your compliment!
Thank you so much sharing this video and your experience in carving out the cup. I gained insight and inspiration. I will follow your carving method.
👍👍👍
Great video, Felix! I run a youth program that teaches outdoor skills to teen-agers. You've inspired me to have the kids make their own cups. Thanks!
This is a hard task for Kids! But if you help them a bit it can work! Go for it!
Thank you,Felix! I respect your work!
Thanks a lot Sergey!
Felix.

Thank you so much for all your videos.
You are so welcome! Greetings from Switzerland
Beautiful work !!❤ Felix is Awesome !!
Love the bowl !! 🥣
Thanks for your valuable support!
Very cool! I love how you always question things and find new ways and materials to get things done!
That home made scarb is fantastic. I've been using a hoof knife for carving out hollow sections. I might have to make one of those.
Thanks for your comment!
👍🏻 LG Micha
Hi Felix, this is a great video packed with practical insights. Much obliged.
That scorp is sharp. The one i bought from amazon doesn’t even make a dent in the wood. It just slowly scrapes the wood where it’s powdery and doesn’t even make shavings like your scorp does.
Just wrap fine sandpaper arround a wooden stick from about half an inch (10mm or a bit more) and start to sharpen it! I am sure you will be sucessfull!
excellent - as always
Thanks again!
Thank you for posting! Your instructions and the diagrams on why you chose the section of the trunk are much appreciated!
I loved this thank you. I also love your accent, it reminds me of Arnold Schwarzenegger, I would love to hear you say “Get to the Chopper” lol.
I’ll be trying this cup idea and looking at testing it on larger things like a bowl
Thanks a lot for your comment!!
Well done!
Thank you very much!
your videos are very helpful and enjoyable.
Merci bien Michele!
I tuoi video sono bellissimi grazie e ciaoooo
Awesome idea, thanks for sharing. the only step I would add to this would be to use a sandpaper inside and out to make it smoother!
Great video Felix. Definitely want to try it out. I really like how you go over the decision process. Thank you for sharing this with us. I like the end results. Outstanding. I hope you have a great week.

Felix - awesome - watching is how I learn most things - this was perfect for me. next up I carve my cup from fir!!
Super... thanks a lot Ken!
Excelent Felix, thanks!
Thank you my friend!
Excellent
Thank you so much 😀
Thanks Felix. I just made a Hemlock Kuksa today. I wanted to see how Hemlock would perform. I seems very good. Thanks for showing us your practical techniques. Take care.
Thanks a lot for your interesting hint!
Hello Felix. Another outstanding video. Just goes to show that you never know until you try! Thank you for your very helpful instruction. Looking forward to the next video.
Exactly this is the point! Thank you!!
Thanks for showing us.
Good explanation and demonstration on how to carve kuksa. Fir wood is very different in different areas. Hardness and resin percentages. Some places it is almost as good as oak for energy in wood stoves.
Incredibly smart, Felix.
Thank you very much!
Love it that you try non traditional types of wood.
Thanks a lot for this positive feedback!
Nice to see the cup being made in the woods with simple hand tools.
Awesome 👏🏻 Felix! Thanks for proving the pros wrong...at least for the moment we are in! 😉😊🤗 Have a great day brother and God bless 🤟🏻👍🏻💪🏻

Simple straight forward . Enjoy Felix
Great video man
Thank you very much!
Nice work Felix
Very interesting
Glad you think so! Thanks a lot!
Excellent craftsmanship, Felix! Yesterday, 'Boxing Day' I've began working a walnut bowl, a bit bigger - 30cm, using your direction, except my walnut is considerably seasoned, so will take a long time. I've woodcutting tools similar to yours, but mush older though excellent. Been woodcarving about 2 years now. When my bowl is finished I will lightly oil it and then it will be used at table. Happy New Year!
Fantastic! Thanks for telling me your wonderful project!!
Great video, really enjoying your channel and getting lots of good ideas too!
Great video! Useful info, thank you.
Glad it was helpful!
Excellent video Felix.
Brave homme et chouette réalisation, merci
Love how you tackle projects. Thank you
Beautiful.
So cool, and beautiful too ❤ 👍
Thanks a lot Roni!
Yes another great video felix. I wonder is resin toxic? Sorry for such a boring question. Also I wonder if you burned the inside with a little fire. I wonder if that would seal it a little if you didn’t have linseed. Just an idea… obviously you would have to clean out the ash and maybe sand it a little… I don’t have the opportunity to try it at the moment. Keep up the good work though.
This is great! Always wanted to learn how to do this. Your tips video and the one about the tool from an old wrench super helpful.
Your comment makes me happy!! Thank you
Great work! as always I start sharpening the top part of my wood saw like a cabinet card scraper (not at 90 degrees) and works great on flat surfaces. Will try to make a bowl like this and check how it works on the outside part.
Cheers! Marcelo from Argentina!
Cool project.
Thanks
very good Felix. Thanks. I shall try that as all around this part of the French mountains, not far from Switzerland it is pine woods and deciduous woods too.
I love this and understand it. I will not be making my own as I live in zone 10 where the cup might poison you based on the wood. Keep doing, never change.
Thanks a lot John!
Hi Felix. Danke nocheinmal. Zeit und arbeit macht eine supere Tasse! Danke fürs mitteiklen. Bleib gesund. LG. Nigel

I am totally making one of these wrench knives so I can get into making a bowl or kuksa! You are a wealth of info Mr.Felix keep these awesome videos coming my friend! I live in a Douglas Fir forest and they log everything around us so there is an abundance of fresh cut in my area! Thanks for sharing this...thank you for sharing your knowledge! Learning lots from you! Cheers, Jerbs 👍🏼🔥🔪🇨🇦
Great stuff thanks
Super Video Felix, danke! Bis bald und lg Manu
Hi Felix, that was well done again, looked good enough for me, have a good weekend, Will.

Thank you once again, Felix. You are a god.
