Thank you very much. Just installed a hitch for my bike rack and your vid was extremely helpful.
I’m glad it helped :)
Thanks for the electrical connector removal info. The manuals seem to leave that out.
Got to seal around my rear vents... Boot filled up with water which splashed all over rear seats when I braked at a stop light. Rainy season came at me hard this winter
hope it helped
Hello, I want to remove my bumper to seal vents , I am just wondering is there extra steps I need to do if the car has reversing censors ? Also will this affect the calibration of the censors ? Thanks
sorry for the late reply, only step is once the bumper droped down you just need to unplug the sensors
You make this look so easy 😂
3:11 my Maxton Rear Diffuser now covers these screws/tabs. it recently broke off due to a high curb reverse parking. now i have to secure these 2 to the metal bracket on the inside using zip ties. seems secure.
needs must :-)
Or if you need to install a tow bar. Handy video.
Hi i noticed you had a towbar fitted, without cutting the bumper, do you have a video on fitting the towbar, thanks for good one on bumper removal
You need to take the bumper off to fit the towbar
Awesome video! You think it's similar on Golf Alltrack with parking sensors? I got a new bumber so I'm gonna do this procedure one of these days...
Most are similar this will if you a idea most bolts ect will be in same area
Just did it on Alltrack 2017: it's the same.
@@AldekeinI just did it without problems as well.
Thanks for the great vid sir. I apologise in advance if this is a stupid question, but is this the same procedure for the Mk7 golf r,or is there any difference? Ps you got a new sub and a like 👍.
should be the same
Hi, thanks for doing the video. At some point I need to remove the rear bumper on my 2019 Mk7.5 1.5 TSI Golf as I think water is getting in past those daft vents. Would you know if my model of Golf would be the same procedure for bumper removal?
It will be similar
What about the attached pick-up cameras in the rear bumper?
If you mean the parking sensors they unplug just follow the wire to the plug then unclip it
Terrific and to the point. Thanks
glad it helped
Think u need not to edit or fade the vid out a let it jst role the full leant coz seems like uv cut alot of what u doing out..
i just kept in the important parts in, or you would just see me moving about alot with no idea where bolts ect where
@@TwoSpanners well it’s seems that way now even tho uv cut it
Excellent video
Thank you.
Hey there, quick question, hoping you can help; body shop removed rear bumper to blend driver's quarter panel after a rear driver door replacement and broke some clips requiring them to buy a new bumper altogether (this was despite my instruction to not touch the bumper but I digress..). When they installed the new bumper, the fit is so tight that the bumper is pushed into the quarter, which caused rust on the quarter on the passenger side. I've looked at cars on the lots and there's a fair amount of space on all Mk7s compared to mine where you cannot even get a piece of paper through. The question is, did they do something wrong or is the gap adjustable? Body shop refuses to take responsibility for rust/ paint bubbling despite it being exactly where bumper and quarter touch....
Thanks, just hoping for your input.
They bodyshop should sort it out if they caused it, ring your insurance provider and get them involved, and if they broke clips you shouldn’t need a new bumper, you should they didn’t bump in there work shop and now trying to cover it up ?
Can message us on Instagram if you wish two spanners
My bumper is super tight also with no gap to the quarter panel. I think it is because on our cars there is a screw that tightens it together snug. Other years do not all have this screw, just a clip. Mine is a 2015. It is the "awkward" screw unscrewed in the video with the super long screwdriver.
@@richardmang2558 Hi I'm just trying to remove mine. Is the awkward screw also a T25? Did you take your back wheel off to remove yours? Thanks
@@saxilbyjoe4325 Yes I did have to remove the rear wheels. The ratchet extension needed a swivel to get a good angle on the T25 screw.
is it necessary to take lights out?
There’s clips under them if I remmber right it helps to release them so you don’t split the bumper
is the long screwdriver a must? I have a small electric scredriver which may not fit in the narrow space.
no i just use it because its easier to use it :) sorry for the late reply
@@TwoSpanners no problem, gettin that screw out was not a pleasant experience!!
Thank you, bro
no problem
What type of diffuser is that on the back?
hello its just the standard one. i might be able to get the part number from work
@@TwoSpanners hi, I thought it was u working on your own car. But it’s a vid of u working on a customers car. No worries at all man.
@@SuperNovaHeights_ no problems
Cheers mate 👍👍👍
No problem at all
You glazed over the part where you take the screw off where bumper fixes to rest of car. The one that’s awkward to get to???
Hello are you on about the T25 screw that go’s down thought the quarter into the bumper behind the wing liners ?
@@TwoSpanners I think he means where you used the really long screwdriver for the "awkward" Torx 25. You mention the tool at 0:37. But we never see the tip of the tool. Is it a Torx 25 screwdriver?
The tool is used at 1:45 but fades to black. Then again at 2:36.
I am gonna add the word "incredibly" to "awkward". Incredibly awkward screw to get access to. I had to remove my rear wheels and then use a ratchet with a swivel on the Torx bit to get the correct angle to grasp the screw. My Torx screwdriver kept slipping since it was not getting a good grip in the Torx head due to a bad angle.
Thank you TwoSpanners for showing this screw. I guess other years do not have this screw, only a clip.
Mine is a 2015 eGolf electric. Trying to get access to the vents to seal up a water leakage issue.
@@richardmang2558 Thanks - ignore my earlier question. I can see you've answered this here. Mines a 2014. Seriously unimpressed with having to do this to fix a water leak.
@@saxilbyjoe4325 I agree! All of this to get at a poorly chosen , I say chosen because VW chose this cheap seal instead of a good one, seal.
merci !! (Thx!) :)
Your welcome
Which trim tool do you use.
Hey my tools all come off snap on
Thanks for the great tutorial bud.
No problem, thanks for tuning in and bothering to comment, it helps so much and we really appreciate it.
