Here are the tools needed for installing new Zig Zag Springs and where to buy them. Level Spring Bender ( Zig Zag Spring Install Tool ) amzn.to/2TNvxZ1 Spring End Forming Tool amzn.to/2TMJd6A
@@mjamsdenfurniture It was though I didn't have that tool and ended up using a pry bar to get leverage on the spring from the already secure side, and through some herculean effort hooked the dog leg into the edge and hammered it in after. Drenched in sweat after 10 attempts... if you can get access to this tool, use it!
@@MonkeyBananaRaffles Iv been there, done that it really sucks. All the time hoping I don't slip and rip open an artery! This tool just makes life so much easier.
The shop that "repaired" our chair left out the front spring where the clip had broken and replaced the spring at the back .But that spring was fitted upside down so the spring started in a sagging position. If the chair garruantee had run out they would have charged us . Good idea for the lever .Full marks .
There are two methods you can use. One is to pull the springs tight enough to eliminate as much arch as possible. The second would be to add padding in the low places to level it out. My choice is the first method and that is where the tool I use really helps.
This is by far the best video on this ive seen. Thank you.
Thank you. Nice to hear you liked it, I hope it was helpful.

Wow, sounds like they really botched that repair. Sorry to hear that.
Excellent Mike. Never saw either tool before.
Good to see you!

Thanks Jim! Yea the spring install tool is essential for tight zig zag springs, almost impossible without it and dangerous also.
Brother I’ve got a burning question: how do you deal with the arching in the springs when applying the cushion????
