10:28 Ironically, Sans could actually be here without time travel since Flowey mentioned him being a bit of an obstacle when he was killing everyone, so he had to have been present at the time that his reset point is set at. Why would flowey get mad at clover anyways?? They're already at the castle and the king is ahead, so its not like they have to worry about the royal guard or the castle getting locked down, there is no reason for flowey to get mad AGAIN
It would have been better to have a dialogue saying that because of Clover the king is now going to want to hide or absorb the souls and get angry about that, demanding Clover to go quickly and get the souls before the king hides or absorbs them. Obviously Asgore wouldn't do that because he doesn't know that Clover is level 20, he only knows that Clover was killing monsters.
I haven't seen the video and I'm sure it will be good, but I personally love the detail that Clover didn't kill Marlet in Undertale Yelloe, because it shows the humanity and twisted justice of the character, it's not about trying to kill all the monsters, it's about avenging the human souls and will kill anyone who represents a danger to him or humanity. Even on a route in which we kill all the monsters except the common robots (which do not give exp). Marlet manages to convince Clover to stop and even come live with her.
I mean Clover literally JUST got finished killing every monster in ruins and snowdin, and that's literally how this fight happens What i find weird is that Clover lets her go just because she asks him, even though, at this point in the route, she gave him the most rough time this far
I don't think that's the case, many innocent monsters at this point of the story have already asked them for mercy, but to no avail. This moment is just simply strange, especially if considering the fact that Clover knows that Martlet is one of the royal guards and could be the possible reason for one of the last humans demise. Plus, they were the one who originally initiated this battle (not even bothering to give Martlet an actual warning that they're about to strike). But, I still have one explanation, perhaps Clover admired Martlet's battle skills and therefore allowed her to live for some time.
@@tealover2871 im think its becuase marlet stop to figth, yeah the other monster pray mercy but still figthing, and im think the principal reason "spare" marlet is clover start the figth and marlet in the first turns no atack clover, and this probablie make clover thing like "im start this figth, and only she see want kill atack me, she want no figth im no gonna figth this time"

@@Solesteam how is he gonna dodge it? That only works on battles and clover can do his blast out side even battles also isnt that thing huge? Bro needs to get out of the entire room to dodge that shit🤣
This one went a little off the rails compared to your other work, but it was still quite fun. It's sillier, but that makes sense. This is more of an exploration of mechanics rather than the story. Narratively, Martlet's role is just too important. Characteristically, it makes less sense for what clover would do. Martlet is Clover's soft spot. Even in genocide. Especially in genocide, in fact. They let her go on their first encounter when she surrenders. They hear her out in the dunes until Martlet mentions the fallen humans. Then they only draw their gun on her after she "lies" about what monsters deserve. Then, even with their gun trained on her, they let her go AGAIN. Most telling of all, they will NEVER stop Martlet before she transforms. There is evidence that Clover might already have control over the timeline after the Axis fight. Disregarding that, we know for a FACT clover subconsciously remembers things. Why do they keep letting her transform? Have a fighting chance? I have my own theory about that, but that's another conversation. So, considering how this whole what-if is more of about tricking the game into letting you kill her than the story allowing it, bringing in Sans as a cheeky reference kinda fits. I like how you use it as a way to highlight the differences between OG and Yellow. Still, I do think there is something cool in this idea, rivalling your two parter Asgore animation. Genocide Clover will never learn of Flowey's true goal in time because Clover doesn't push his buttons enough with the Zenith fight. Clover will successfully stomp asgore and absorb his soul like in the canon run. However, Flowey will also use the battle as a cover to absorb the souls! Human with a boss monster soul vs monster with 5 human souls. Either Flowey beats clover and absorbs him, Clover manages to win with the human's help like in OG... or crazier yet... Clover, at level 20 and with Asgore's soul (maybe even being able to use monster magic) actually could stand a chance against a weaker Omega Flowey. No human soul help needed! I wonder if Clover could handle that kind of a boss? It's a fun idea to think about at least! P.S. edited just to make it read a little easier.
a human + monster soul absorbed vs a boss concept would be really neat, actually like you could give the player a magic menu of sorts, more fun ideas to play around with from a design perspective,
@@leedlelel2373 My guess is... yes, he would still be there, but I don't think his presence would help or hinder Clover. For one thing, this would be happening immediately after the absorption. If the boss monster is still in there and can still affect stuff or fight back, I think it would take quite a while for him to learn how. It seems that in Undertale, humans absorbing boss monster souls is WAY rarer than monsters absorbing human souls. Even then, monsters still didn't seem to understand that human souls still have autonomy and can revolt if there's a clash of interest. With this dynamic, there's even less information for Asgore to act on, unless he actually knew a human with a boss monster soul on the surface pre-war. Second, even if Asgore COULD stop Clover in time to affect the fight, I don't think he'd be motivated enough to try. Remember, Clover is fighting a Flowey who thinks he finally won. Flowey is going to take off the nice guy act, torment Clover, and make his desires clear now that he's a god. There is no parallel to Frisk asking the fallen souls for help. If I were Asgore and I was watching this battle happening, I think I would see the flower as the bigger threat. Now, once Clover left the barrier and tried to live his life, then I think you'd see more and more of Asgore.

Anyways: Here are two ideas for other What ifs What if you could kill Ed, Moray, Ace, and Mooch during the Feisty Four battle? What if you left the Steamworks with Ceroba? (Starlo couldn't make it to you in time)
imo 10:35 is kinda stupid lol, i get it's for the bit, but all of the points used by sans are kinda nonsensical as arguments that Undertale Yellow couldn't take place in the main UT timeline. Cool video though!!, I liked the switching ammo to shoot Martlet idea.
How are the ideas stupid? If there clear differences between Undertale Yellow's Timeline and his own, all the things Sans points out as differences make Undertale Yellow impossible to take place in the Main Timeline. Undertale Yellow happening too soon within the Timeline? Check, since the game takes place in 20XX, yet Undyne exists and is already the Royal Guard's captain. Sans not existing? That alone is a huge error. Flowey already existing, having the FIRST Save File, AND having power over Clover? Even more problems, since the Photoshop Flowey fight confirms every fallen child had a SAVE file, and the order of which disproves Flowey having a SAVE File before any of them, thus meaning that Flowey CAN'T have existed during the time Undertale Yellow takes place. None of the arguments Sans makes are dumb lmao.
@@tiarahamlin6351 the flowey one is a common misconception, technically flowey could've been made as soon as the first two sould were collected, so flowey existing just before the yellow soul makes sense and bring an interesting narrative to the game, where the human is never in control over the timeline, and the save file "number" thing is never a confirmed thing, it's mostly based off on a popular fan theory based on the save files seen in the game's folder. I actually wrote a post where I talked about all of these claims, I am by no means an expert myself, but Undertale Yellow is canon compliant, canon to the main UT timeline of course not as it's a fangame, but the devs did a pretty good job respecting the characters and expanding upon the Underground while adding something new on top. "Flowey not being able to exist" automatically tells me you have misconceptions about Undertale in general.
@@IamDoru1Flowey "could" exist but it's very unlikely. As for the game sticking to Canon? Yeaaaah, no. Firsty, Ceroba gets the first turn. This shouldn't be possible. Only sans can do that due to breaking the rules and a theory saying that it was because you're at this point an antagonist while sans is the hero. There's also Martlet being able to successfully use the dt for that long without melting immediately
@@jackislegitterrified3689 those are some weak points, Ceroba gets the first turn because you are caught off guard, same happens with sans, sometimes he skips his monologue and attacks you earlier, sometimes later, and its why he always gets the jump on you. As for the Ceroba DT thing, what?
@@jackislegitterrified3689 first of all: Flowey takes the first turn in the original undertale in your first encounter. also, in your neutral and pacifist undyne encounters, she takes the first turn to make you green. Making you go first is more of an etiquette that everyone follows instead of something that only sans can bypass Second, Ceroba never used dt, i think you're confused with martlet. and even then, if undyne could handle DT, why can't martlet? also, monsters don't necessarily melt immediately after using DT. The monsters alphys experimented on with DT were fine for a while until their bodies couldn't handle the DT anymore.
@@Kimolw Honestly she might not be able to catch Clover before he gets to the Dunes. Once he makes it there he's home free until he gets to the Asgore.
Yeah Undyne makes more sense because not only does it stay in line with the “fight a guard at the beginning, fight a guard at the end”, but it also makes sense because Undyne and the rest of the guard is probably looking for Clover, and I don’t doubt Undyne knows where they are and what they’ve done if Asgore knows too.
12:58 waaaait a second, that’s actually really cool - imagine shooting propels you upwards like a jetpack, effectively giving you infinite jumps (maybe the charge shot could be used for bigger jumps)

I REALLY hope that even if the specific dialogue and actions don't make 100% sense, the general premise of a "Flowey Fight" with the other souls resetting makes sense. This isn't 100% perfect, as the souls seem to side with clover automatically on the geno route, but I imagine being absorbed by someone with the capability to think properly gives the other souls the sense to judge Clover this time, too. I hope y'all enjoeyed this what-if, anyway.
I think that fighting asgore at the end would make more sense (he absorbed the 5 human souls this time for some reason) and perhaps at the end of the battle Flowey is going to absorb the souls but you reset and kill him before that
I was kinda expecting that you get LV 20 after killing Axis and without Martlet we just skip into Asgore fight when we kill it and then the new thing would be Flowey thanking Clover for doing such a wonderful job to get rid of the King, immobilizes Clover and then thanks him for being such an idiot just like in Undertale when has the 6 souls, but before Flowey absorbs it Clover load his file right before Flowey immobilizes them, Flowey it's confused and tries to immobilizes Clover again, but again loads file, after a few seconds the battle screen begin and the line is the same as normal Vengeance Route when Flowey tells how much hates GunHat, Clover shoots Flowey multiple times and then normal Vengeance ending with the souls.
A fact im not see talk about its the fact clover no turn in blue, this becuse he cant in cannon only frisk can do it this, and its a good detail. But miss oportunity for clover use laser like a jetpack

I dont understand sans' point... i think he forgot that the monsters attack clover first and want to kill them, therefore it is very much self-defense in that case However, alot of enemies, if not all, decide to become spareable right before they die... essentially begging for mercy And since its a game mechanic, it is a genuine and actual surrender instead of a trick, so theres no justifying the kill of the monster after that
i´m surprised clover even got a chance to survive sans i mean in the original storyline it is said in the neutral route that clover could never survive in the underground too long, probably for lack of equipment or skills to survive i guess the exp obtained from the route clover takes plus the equipment is what makes this fight viable plus that sans is not 100% serious on this one, kinda like "i have to fight to return home" not because he wants to kills you or you harm any of the people he knows so i guess it might had to do with that too, but still is like a weird genocide route, i end up liking it in the end, thanks for the video
@@xaviidkThat's another missinterpretation of Sans character, he clearly cares about Papyrus, he basically tells you to fuck off if you kill Papyrus in a neutral run. He doesn't stop you because there's no real point, Sans only stops you in Genocide because the whole world is literally gonna end
Also when you kill Papyrus in neutral, Sans picks up one of the presents under the christmas tree that was for Papyrus, dissapears until the end of the game, and in the Shyren fight if you sing along the text mentions him standing afar with his hood put on
i feel like this video just kinda misses the perpose it was trying to catch, like... it just turned into another "SANS AND GASTER" type thing. like the poetential to explore an AT where martlet dies earlier in geno could have been done in a lot of different ways than the trope i stated before. idk, just my opinion.

SA-
sans's "real 'just' of you" line made me laugh very hard. just his facial expressions and the way he says it
This one went a little off the rails compared to your other work, but it was still quite fun.
P.S. edited just to make it read a little easier.
a human + monster soul absorbed vs a boss concept would be really neat, actually
like you could give the player a magic menu of sorts, more fun ideas to play around with from a design perspective,
would asgore's conscious affect clover during the fight? is anything of him even in his soul at all after his body dies?

Man, you put a lot of effort into animating that sans fight. Really blew me away, keep up the good work.
Anyways: Here are two ideas for other What ifs
What if you could kill Ed, Moray, Ace, and Mooch during the Feisty Four battle?
What if you left the Steamworks with Ceroba? (Starlo couldn't make it to you in time)
15:36 I like the spamton parallel here.
imo 10:35 is kinda stupid lol, i get it's for the bit, but all of the points used by sans are kinda nonsensical as arguments that Undertale Yellow couldn't take place in the main UT timeline.
Making you go first is more of an etiquette that everyone follows instead of something that only sans can bypass
Second, Ceroba never used dt, i think you're confused with martlet. and even then, if undyne could handle DT, why can't martlet? also, monsters don't necessarily melt immediately after using DT. The monsters alphys experimented on with DT were fine for a while until their bodies couldn't handle the DT anymore.

Undyne should've been the final boss

Yeah Undyne makes more sense because not only does it stay in line with the “fight a guard at the beginning, fight a guard at the end”, but it also makes sense because Undyne and the rest of the guard is probably looking for Clover, and I don’t doubt Undyne knows where they are and what they’ve done if Asgore knows too.

I dont understand sans' point... i think he forgot that the monsters attack clover first and want to kill them, therefore it is very much self-defense in that case
However, alot of enemies, if not all, decide to become spareable right before they die... essentially begging for mercy
And since its a game mechanic, it is a genuine and actual surrender instead of a trick, so theres no justifying the kill of the monster after that
