Every UA-camr has their own thing, like an inside joke that makes you laugh. I have decided this channels thing is drawings on the whiteboard you can't really see. I have come to enjoy it!
Good build, but I have a request. Your videos have become a lot of cool shots of cutting wood and putting things together but after watching I cannot wrap my head around what you actually did. Could you take more time on the informational side of how to do the thing you are doing that day? Would really help me, thanks!
PAINTING TIP: A neat trick is to start painting the raised "X" all the way around each where you did the caulking. Then you can go either up/down or left/right. It will save you time, use less paint, and give you a great coat. Loved the build and all your videos. Keep up the great work!
Best video I’ve found so far. Planning on building a Murphy bed within the wall of our guest room, one wall backs to dead space. I figured I could frame it out and fit a queen size Murphy bed or a full with storage.
A tip I got about caulking in gaps etc. bare wood needs primed or first coat then caulk and do final coat, this prevents shrinkage of caulk to the bare wood. Great Job....
⭐️⭐️⭐️⭐️⭐️ Awesome job! I use to have a Murphy-bed in NYC it was a full-size bed, as a matter of fact, I found it next to a dumpster, and it worked beautifully all I did was painted black to go with my black & white decor then. Prior to finding the Murphy-bed, I slept on my sofa. The best thing about owning a Murphy-bed is that during the day one can use the room as an office & at night to sleep. Stay Safe & Healthy... Abrazos
Nice build 👌 I would add some sort of lighting and a background on the inside of the Murphy bed to give it a nice appearance when it's open. I'd also fill in the gaps where the 'X's meet- just because that's me. Thanks for sharing 👍 Love the idea!
Looks good. I might get the kit. But I’d like to do the front with fixed shelves for legs. The shelves would just be used for the decorative blankets and pillows, for the bed. And the green and the Xs, nice touch. 😊
@@AndrewThronImprovements Andrew, you’re not far away. Your latest bathroom content was phenomenal. You might now have the subs but your quality of work is up there with Alex and Modern builds in my opinion. Keep it up and you’ll be with the big boys in no time. You’ll have my support 🤙
This is great, planning on building my own soon, going to kind of copy a Lori wall bed, it doesn’t have any hardware except to lock it in place when it’s up and shelves that act as legs that I’m planning to use as a desk
Great video. I am getting ready to order the hardware to build a queen size for the guestroom and concern with the difficulty of my wife dropping the bed if needed
Nice build.....very interesting.... Instead of using plywood (3/4), do you think I could use MDF (3/4) for the frame and everything, and then paint it? Will it be strong enough?
Great build! Always enjoy the editing, fantastic! Also, I bought a shirt and will be showcasing it in one of MY videos. Just my way of supporting our maker community! Keep up the great work 👍. COURAGE & SWEAT!
Idaho? I'm in WA. Question. Heavy right? Can you make this with built in book shelves on each side? Will it look ok without seeing the mechanics of the bed?
Exactly, those tools are expensive and when I saw he wasn't using the Dewalt mitre saw, was using the ryobi, realised he must have a sponsor deal so he will use exclusive ryobi tools. Fair play to him getting a deal from Ryobi
@@vitalijudin2920 Exactly, I use a mix of Bosch blue and Ryobi tools only. Though, I only buy during the sale like prime day or Black Friday. If I was doing professional trade, then I would only use Bosch Blue or maybe Dewalt, Festool but I do diy as a hobby.
I need a Murphy bed in my house but all I have seen is built into the wall and landlord would definitely have a cow. This I can see doing if I can follow your caffeine driven instructions, LOL. Thanks.
@Mr. Build It, just wondering but why not cut out a notch for the baseboard in the back of the bed frame instead of cutting the baseboard? Just wondering if there's a specific reason you cut the baseboard and not the back of the frame?
Great build. And thanks for the price breakdown at the end. It helps to know that something like this is within a reasonable price range if you add a little courage and sweat! Quick question, what sander were you using toward the end there? Is it any good?
Do as I say, not as I do. 🤣 Love the realness of this build. Me and my husband always get impatient waiting for items/kits we need 🙄 Hence working ahead and fixing problems later 🙃 Awesome work, keep up videos like these!!
This is an awesome video brother! I’m actually looking to build one for our guest bedroom as well but it will be a horizontal version with maybe a desk built into it on the outside. Sweet job!
Why the change in colour / hardware. As much as I love that green colour I was looking forward to the black with bronze hardware. Keep up the good work 💪
Love the channel, was trying to click the link to get the shirt you were wearing, links seem to be broken. Using an iPad. I opened in safari and chrome...same issue. I’ll check pc later. Just an FYI.
Alex, Do you always caulk butt-joints vs wood filler (referring to the seems of of the 1x4 for the face of the murphy bed) Will wood filler just lead to cracking over time with wood movement?

We need a darker colored marker for that whiteboard - great build!
truth

We love our homemade Murphy’s Bed! A great cabinet front then open & pull down. YEA! 👍

I can't believe it I watch the whole video through .. and it's worth my time.. thanks ofr the vidz
What I like about this guy is he really seems to like every bit of the building process especially the problem solving.
Been watching the videos for a while and you have basically gave me the knowledge, and saved my life.
Looks great, Maybe add some built-ins on either side of the bed to fill in the space
I, too, have been wanting to build a Murphy Bed. Thank you for this build.

Good tip on cutting angles. I need that quite often.
Would it be better to make a hole in the construction rather than cutting a baseboard?
Love Murphy bed still.

Been waiting for the weather to warm up a little then I’m gonna build a Murphy bed good timing on the video thanks man
Tape on the jigsaw cut is cool.
Hey, when you are going to show every body the new house proyect tour?
Fabulous! love that green!

Holy cow! Such a beautiful piece of furniture! Good job as always.
Awesome build, but I don't like the green color. The new craze by us in South Africa is chalk paint. Easy to use and different colors. 😄👍
So inspirational!! Legend in the making
Wow I really want a murphy bed in my room. The extra space would be great!
Tons of extra space
Murphy bed couch next! My mother in law wants one.
Where can I find a cut list and do you have overall dimensions of the final project anywhere?
Is the handle the support on the ground? Seems like a weak spot when someone is actually sitting/sleeping on it.
There are 2 brackets that unfold as legs of the bed it is in the kit. He actually put it the wrong way on first, then changed it 10:28.
The bed looks fantastic. One question, why do you use the track saw to rip plywood rather than your table saw?
Good finishing

I now have the sudden urge to make a murfy bed

At first glance, "that's a great liquor/wine cabinet for your office", then BOOM...comfy bed
boom indeed!
I'm sensing a Ryobi sponsorship. I'd take all the free tools I could. Good for him.
