Yes, I had my replacement shoes with me and left them with a friend in Auckland until I needed them. It’s expensive to buy gear in NZ but it’s not the end of the world. I was lucky and only needed two pairs of shoes. Lake Tekapo is so blue because of the water from the glaciers. So stunning!
Yay enjoying to see you rocking through the south island! Has been scorching hot for weeks till now, how does that go together with the massive output? May I ask how much ahead are you compared to your videos?
The road walking was really rough in the heat! Making sure I had enough water was also something to stay on top of. My videos are about 3 weeks behind now. The cell service on the South Island really set me back!

I am not sure what is worse.... That the chocolate blocks aren't Whittakers or the Chocolate is from Nestle... It is true, Americans really do have no taste ;) Always sad to see Tom go.
KitKats are perfect for dipping in peanut butter! Hikers don’t have the money to pay for Whittaker’s at the Four Square haha! We eat too much! Best believe I buy the Whittaker’s when I’m off trail.
@@aStrayLife you sure you not paying more for less? Whittaker Blocks are 250g and the Nestle blocks are 170 grams, almost 100 grams less.... Also which PB because if it's Pic's then you not exactly roughing it up as a "Hiker" ;)
Ha! Small world! We actually bumped into Tom when we were camped at Crooked Spur Hut on his way back down. Oh wow that is awesome! Great video! I remember you guys passing us one day! We all had some great weather for that section of trail!
