  • In this video I unbox the HBX 16889A PRO Brushless 1 /16 Truck with Oil Shocks, Lights and Wheelie Bar. This truck will be a great option for those who don't have a lot of room but still want the features of a full size basher. It has metal dog bones and drive cups and gears, bearings throughout and looks to be well made for such a small truck! It would also be great for anyone who just enjoys small trucks along with their bigger trucks! If you like what I'm doing, please like, share and subscribe and please tell your friends about my channel! See you next time! - Riff😁👍

    Got one of these a month ago and it's a freaking tank. Got some all aluminum shocks because the stock shocks leaked the oil and bought an extra body but other than that it is amazing. Must buy for the fact it needs no special parts or attention every time you drive it. No tools required bashing.

      Absolutely! Definitely one of the nicest 1/16 trucks I've seen. HBX and WLTOYS both are killing it in the affordable segment. I've been using their products for years right along with my name brand stuff and I have just as much fun with them. Glad to see they've been listening and started adding metal oil shocks, brushless motors etc. The brushed stuff was good, this brushless stuff is great! Thanks for watching and commenting! 🤜🤛💯🔥⚡😁👍

    Can't wait to run this gem with my 6yr old!
    This will be his first hobby grade RC and I know he's gonna flip when he sees it for the first time!

      Wow what an excellent choice for a first RC! Especially since you will be there to help because it is fast and powerful. The great thing is that you can dial down the speed on the TX so it's perfect for him! I love this little truck, it's truly excellent for its price! I do recommend repacking the diffs with good grease so that they last😉 I think you guys will really enjoy it! Thanks for watching and commenting brother! 💯🤜🤛🔥🔥⚡⚡🙏

      @@riffraffsrc Right on, I did quite a bit of digging to find one inexpensive and hobby grade that he could grow with. Thanks for the advice that'll end up being one of our first projects on learning how to upgrade and maintain! Great video, new sub!👍🏾

      @@Zrosum it's my pleasure brother! I think you guys will have a wonderful time together driving this sweet little truck. Doing the diffs is pretty easy, even if you never have done it before. I did a video on it. If you watch it you'll see that the grease they used was doing absolutely nothing. I really like using using Lucas white lithium on these smaller models because it sticks to the gears so well instead of clumping on the sides of the diff casing but really you can use whatever you like to. It helps them run smooth and quieter too. 😉 If you never did it before, take pictures along the way and keep your screws organized so they don't get mixed up and you'll be fine 😁👍thanks for the subscription my friend, much appreciated! I hope to see you guys playing with it and working on it together soon! 😁👍💯🤜🤛🔥🔥⚡⚡🙏

    Feature packed little truck Riff, All the bells & whistles. However, I would like to see the battery pack with more than 1,000mah, maybe a 1,600 to 2,000. Great vid brother!!!!

      Thanks brother, it actually runs a long time even on that small battery. Another thing is the longer the run time, the hotter the motor and ESC gets, so then you might be looking at adding some fans but longer is always more fun! 🤜🤛💯🔥🔥⚡⚡

    • @riffraffsrc

      In the 1/10 size, I'd definitely go with the Arrma Big Rock or Granite brushless 3s versions. They take a ton of abuse and are really fun trucks for their price point. Other than those if you are going Super affordable, I'd look at Redcat. Redcat has some affordable and fun brushless trucks also. I really love mine. I own 4. I have the gen 8 crawler, the Danchee RidgeRock crawler and the Kaiju 6s and the new Kaiju EXT 6s. Another plus is that the replacement parts are affordable from Redcat as well. Take a look at the volcano epx pro, and the blackout Xte or the RCmt10e... All of those are affordable and a nice place to start. 💯🤜🤛🔥🔥⚡⚡🙏

    Hey Riff hows it going
    For under 120$ not bad at all! Looks like a motor from Amazon which is not a bad thing.have one in my sons dromida 18mt, it rips!!! When we are ready to replace the dromida. Looking forward to seeing the video of you running the truck.

    • @riffraffsrc
      @riffraffsrc  3 роки тому +1

      Hi brother! It's a great little truck especially for the money! Speaking of Dromida, I have one each of the Dromida Wasteland buggies that came out a few years ago. They are still like new and work perfectly. Do you remember them? They shoot nerf darts about 20 feet. You can fire one shot at a time from the transmitter. They looked like "road warrior" type things. One is a truck style and is kind of a rusty brown color and the other is a green buggy. Both drive really great. They are a collectors item now because Dromida stopped making them. You can still find them if you look around. They sold them separately and I bought both because they are meant to be ran together 😁👍🤜🤛💯 I really liked the Dromida stuff. Are they still making trucks and cars? Thanks for watching brother! 💯🤜🤛🔥🔥⚡⚡

    I'm wondering why is coming with the box and manual of the previous model, the 16889....the 16889a pro doesn't have its manual / box? it seems quite strange...

    • @riffraffsrc
      @riffraffsrc  Рік тому +1

      It's not strange at all. In fact it's very common in the RC world and even more common in budget RC models. Sometimes they just put a box or sticker on the side of the package that specifies which version it is. It costs a lot to print separate packaging and manuals for several different models especially if they are very similar and share many of the same parts. 😉

    • @scappellos
      @scappellos Рік тому +1

      @@riffraffsrc actually I am not happy at all with this news, it means you get what you pay I guess...not the best as I won't have the instruction and I won't know what I bought, that's the main problem, I wrote to HBX that I am not happy about it and that was a bad surprise that I was not waiting.
      I can even understand the "wrong" box, but to give another manual and not the one for the Pro version (I don't want to read that I have plastic diffs if I have the pro with metal). I'm really thinking to sent it back only for this issue, MJX at least is giving you what you are waiting to receive...
      and double funny, there is no information about the pro version in HBX website, this means that they did not want to really invest for the pro version (God only knows why)

    • @riffraffsrc
      @riffraffsrc  Рік тому +2

      @@scappellos I really don't understand why it bothers you because the parts are exactly the same and work the same and are installed exactly the same. It makes no difference if shows metal in the manual if you know that they are metal. If you are disappointed by this, I hate to say you will be disappointed with a lot in the RC Hobby because this is very common. The only companies that make unique manuals for a model are generally the high end ones, and even then, sometimes a manul might cover several models that use the same parts... You shouldn't let this discourage you from all the fun in the RC Hobby, remember the model you bought is only a budget model, keep your expectations lower on lower cost models. That being said, this particular Model is very tough and runs great especially for the price. I paid for mine with my own money and never have received any free models yet, so I really like it and lots of people who got one do too. You should really enjoy it. 😊

      @@riffraffsrc really appreciates your comment, it is just the first time that I buy something with a different box, maybe that's why I have this feeling, and also maybe cuz I work in a marketing department and to me are important details to make the customer happy but I got your point.
      But when I saw it I just felt like ordering a big mac and receiving it in a pizza box (silly example sorry 😄)
