There is *passion* in that connection between them than Buffy honestly didn't have with anyone (Even Angel, to be honest). None of this is Heterosexual by any means of the imagination, and I am fully convinced that while Faith was obviously and blatantly in love with Buffy (Or if not love at least *deeply* infatuated) in return Faith was the very first girl that made Buffy think: "Well gee, guess I'm not that straight. I learned something new about myself"
Buffy sleeps with a woman in the comics, which are a canon continuation of the series, so... this makes the lack of Fuffy all the more disappointing. :/ It could've been so great.
Soo gay for them! I always thought faith was buffys “dark side” like what she doesn’t let herself be, so it makes sense if there’s a little sexual tension there, the dark side of her that seduced her into letting go of inhibitions. The episode of the body swap was masterful in my opinion. Such a great series ❤️
The sexual tension between them was soooo real! Lol I never understood why the directors played it like that but never gave us gays what we really wanted! Haha. I guess they figured Willow being gay was enough. But they should've had Faith and Buffy hook up at least once! 😄
The writers were toying with making either Xander or Willow gay from the start. That's why there's some gay jokes about Xander in the first couple of seasons (like his scenes with Larry). And then Willows vampire doppelganger being sexual with women. (They say she's gay but she is sexual with men too so it would be more accurate to say she's bi. Which actually translates to Willows character when they say she's gay but she obviously had a very real attraction to Oz and Xander)
The way this would have been an iconic TV moment if Buffy and Faith hooked up and its not like Buffy is straight she ended up being with a Slayer in the comics
At the time, Willow and Tara were breaking ground as the first gay couple to actually kiss on TV. Still, I adored Faith and always felt she was in love with Buffy. Particularly the whole, "You picked your vampire boyfriend over me?! Fine, I'll just steal him, chain you up, and do dirty, dirty things to him right in front of you," vibe.
Oh wow this video just changed my perception of the series, I never really thought about a possible true crush of Faith on Buffy but the thing is really interesting ...
When Faith becomes evil for at least a short time, it breaks my heart! How can you not love this girl, She has nothing wrong with her! In fact, she and Buffy would make a nice couple too - nowhere is it written that she has to be with a man especially if Faith is there!
Buffy only loved Angel as an idea, and she never really wanted to see Spike as an equal. Faith is just on her level, their relationship is so raw, and they just have a more dynamic chemistry, like I could see both of them learning a lot from a relationship together, it would be more challenging and both would be more likely to grow from it

funny how women call that song toxic and sexist, about the singer (tom jones originally, but in your version Faith) basically kidnapping the girl (in your case Buffy) and raping her. That said, love the lyric change you did. Thumbs up
@@AzguardMike Not my lyrics! That's an actual song/adaptation by Buffering the Vampire Slayer (Jenny Owen Youngs) - you can find it here on UA-cam as "Buffy it's cold outside". The original song is unfortunately quite problematic (he is pushing her, forcing her to stay, it is implied that he's trying to keep her there by getting her drunk...). But hopefully it can be reclaimed and repurposed thus.

Buffy sleeps with a woman in the comics, which are a canon continuation of the series, so... this makes the lack of Fuffy all the more disappointing. :/ It could've been so great.
There's some amazing fanfic out there though
@@CarrotFlowers421 Facts, but fanfiction can be written with or without canon. They just dropped the ball on this pairing not being canon.
@@ctrlbox agreed
Dark Horse comics, she comes out as gay with the asian/japaneese slayer.
They’re both extremely gorgeous ugh
Wtf the sexual tension! If they remake Buffy they better give Faith the Spike role
Faith's hair was the highlight of Season 3.
When you remember Xander canonically got with Faith while Buffy never did.....
two people who wanted her but could never have her 😳
Soo gay for them!
I always thought faith was buffys “dark side” like what she doesn’t let herself be, so it makes sense if there’s a little sexual tension there, the dark side of her that seduced her into letting go of inhibitions.
The episode of the body swap was masterful in my opinion. Such a great series ❤️
I had such a big crush on faith 😭
The scene where they dance is great! Faith is invaluable!
Me watching this entire thing be like: 👁👄👁
Love this series
They do make a fantastic couple.
It's pretty much in my head-canon that Faith went off the deep-end because Buffy chose Angel over her.
Their dynamic was literally my gay awakening lmao 🙈 I shipped them so hard!
My aunt was really good friends with her female roommate..until they got married and had kids
and they were roommates
Hauahauahaua
I mean, getting married and having kids is just par for the course for totally hetero gal pals!
Had kids? 🤔🤔 They seem to originate from a different dimension 🤷
@@martinusv7433u know what they mean martini, don’t act dumb
Oh wow this video just changed my perception of the series, I never really thought about a possible true crush of Faith on Buffy but the thing is really interesting ...
That kiss on the head was in the mouth in the original script
DEFINITELY bicurious vibes from them both, ESPECIALLY Faith 💜
ive literally watched this series w a y over 6 times, how have i not considered this....
there's a whole lot of season 7 missing from this video.
I’m gay and now all I want is a Buffy and Faith To be together.
When people say have a little faith this is what I think about 0:50
All this needed was to cut to the PHub theme at 1:23
Probably the writers saw the rushes and were like "it wasn't supposed to sound like that!"
The window thing was cute, I'd melt if a woman did that to me
Holy shit looking back at this as an adult NO WONDER I had a huge crush on Faith lol
Yessssss, in general I thought Elizza was just daaaaaaaaamnnnnn ... that bad girl vibe she carried so well
These two had the best fights in the entire show. Not many was on par with them.
Wow how did I'm miss all that before? That's ok I ship it now.
When Faith becomes evil for at least a short time, it breaks my heart! How can you not love this girl, She has nothing wrong with her! In fact, she and Buffy would make a nice couple too - nowhere is it written that she has to be with a man especially if Faith is there!
The amount of tension between these two...
Buffy only loved Angel as an idea, and she never really wanted to see Spike as an equal. Faith is just on her level, their relationship is so raw, and they just have a more dynamic chemistry, like I could see both of them learning a lot from a relationship together, it would be more challenging and both would be more likely to grow from it
Yep, just gal pals being regular good old girls, doing the regular girl “stuff”
That's why Scott thought she was gay.
Omg new headcanon
(I really can't stay) But, Buffy, it's cold outside
(I've got to go slay) But, Buffy, it's cold outside
(This evening has been) Was hoping you'd ask me in
(So very nice) I've heard vamp hands are just like ice
(My mother she loves to worry) B, c’mon, what's your hurry
(My watcher will be pacing the floor) Listen to the fireplace roar
(So really I'd better scurry) B, c’mon, please don't hurry
(Well, maybe just half a nog more) I’ll put some leather on while you pour
(The neighbors might think) B, there’s a big bad out there
(Hey did you just wink) The alleys are dark out there
(I wish I knew how) Who knows what monsters prowl
(To braid your hair) I'll take your stake, just stay right there
(I ought to say no to this tryst) Don’t you wanna kick the gearshift
(At least I'm gonna say that I tried) What's the sense we’re gal pals for life
(I really can't stay) I think you’re patrolled out
[Both] Ah, but it's cold outside
(So, Faith... thanks again for... the gifts.)
'Tis the season... whatever *that* means
funny how women call that song toxic and sexist, about the singer (tom jones originally, but in your version Faith) basically kidnapping the girl (in your case Buffy) and raping her.
I didn’t know I needed this in my life, but thank you
0:49 That dance was recreated in X-Men: Evolution between Rogue & Kitty Pryde. Another case of gals being pals?
Back in the day I never picked up on the gay subtext, I literally just thought Faith had a shtick she just used on everybody to manipulate them. Of course, I also didn't know that Dushku played her as bi with a crush on Buff.
I used to be an idiot, BTW.
Why not both.
I dont think Faith was ever into Buffy like that directly. Sure Faith may be into girls but I think she was just having fun with Buffy for the most part.
@@KrisBryant99I think Duskhu admitted that that was how she played the part: she was into Buffy.
Their chemistry >>>>>>>>
Honestly, it's satisfying to find out that ur celebrity girlcrushes have fruity roles. Like literally I watched Bring It On (2000) days ago, had a crush on Missy, saw this vid, and realized I watched this A YEAR AGO
I’m screaming at the dancing 💀
please i love them so much-
I’ll say it again and again we were ROBBED of that kiss 😫
I hate we never got a fluffy relationship 😩😩😭
1:18 I THOUGHT THEY WERE GOING TO KISS I GASPED (ive never watched the show 😅)
Buffy, the vampire layer
Good lord Eliza is beautiful
The kiss on the forehead- they were not fooling anyone
"you are a sucker for the inherent erotisism of the enemies to lovers"
Always thought Faith was into Buffy, it's funny how the showrunners didn't seem to realise what they'd done, if this was made today they'd make a bigger deal about it.
It's that much sweeter when it's kept subtle/offscreen/implied.
@@madelaki
I think both approaches have benefits. It depends what the story is about
Ok I have to watch this show again, cos I don’t remember any of this!
1:19 We all know she missed what she was aiming for lol
Bring this show to 2021 and they would be a couple already.
I had a feeling if I looked for this video it would exist. I'm so glad someone put it together
How did I NOT pick up on this as a gay teen? I watched this in the late 90s and early 2000s when it was on television.
The funniest part of this video was when faith drew the heart on the window 🤣
omgg why did i never notice the TENSION!!
Who saw that dance scene and thought Rogue & Kitty X-men Evolution?
This dance was the inspiration behind the X-men one
AH i KNEW id seen that dance somewhere before. It was driving me mad. Yes it is the one from Xmen Evo in the opening credits.
Think Eliza had a little crush on Sarah Gellar for real.
