Feel the intensity of fans sitting & standing there, cheers doing there for these 5 superstars. Lost this now somewhere. Damn those were golden days of TNA.
The Phenomenal, probably the best in ring performer today AJ Styles. The King of the Mountain, a Hall of Famer, Jeff Jarrett. An ECW and WCW legend, the enigmatic Raven. A future hall of famer, the 24/7 Champion R Truth. And... James Storm's former partner Knock Knock Braden Walker lol.
I love the King Of The Mountain match one of the best matches to watch with a group of friends. Keeping up with who's eligible to hang the belt , who's in the penalty box , how much time your favorite wrestler has left to be in the penalty box and can your favorite wrestler make it to the top to hang the belt without getting knocked down is a blast!
I recorded this episode of the old Asylum PPV'S and boy me and my late Grandma really enjoyed the rules for this match it was very easy to understand. 😊😊😊😊😊😊
Hys best work as A Pro (for me personally) ... inring work rate subpar but guts as a legit heel in TNA , I give him props ... just imagine That era J.J in a Prime Double J Body.... just maybe he could have been talked about , along the lines of Triple H as a All time Heel.
I enjoyed him in TNA better than WCW and WWF combined because I feel like he was able to just be a good character there and expand it and he was a really great heel especially like the early days of TNA he was amazing it being heel
i mean it may seem stupid but in hindsight the name of the stipulation matches what the match is. king of the mountain. you pin someone to be eligible to hang the title up on the rack and sit on the ladder the king of the mountain
Really?!?! It's a reversed ladder match, where you can hang the title only if you can score the fall on anybody, then that anybody will be punished by putting him in the so-called penalty box for two minutes. It's really not that hard to understand, in fact it puts a bad light to wrestlers if they complain that they don't get something as fairly simple as this one.
They have to catch him! Is an entertaining and great stuntmen, even can be dangerous an painful but they have to help themself to not get hurts as much they can
@enigmatik. I don’t get this Jeff Jarrett hate. When he changed his gimmick in 98/99 he started to look like a main eventer, and when WCW pushed him as a main eventer in 2000 he didn’t look out of place at all. So I really don’t get all this Jeff Jarrett hate.
I think Jeff was a decent wrestler, but let’s be honest, he pushed himself to the moon in TNA. Dude was the main NWA Champion for like two years straight. Sure he lost it a couple of times here and there, but he won it right back weeks after. It was almost as bad as when Triple H was the main Heavyweight Champion from 2003-2005.
TNA Wrestling had good thing going on especially when you had the king of the mountain tournament and if you get pin you go to the penny box for 2 minutes back then Jeff Jarrett create a different wrestling league when it got to the six size ring it got totally awesome ! 👍.
Man I miss Mike tenay and Don West they brought so much excitement and emotion to everything something that today's announcers don't have the new ones are so boring and Bland
I really do miss them. To me, JR & King are #1 & Mike Tenay & Don West are #2. I'd give Tenay & Schivonne back in WCW #3. The AEW announcers are cool. WWE & Impact need some work tho. Josh does his best but if it wasnt for the back & forth heel banter from Don I wouldnt like it much.
I took TNA for granted back in the day and didn't pay much attention to it. Now, I regret not being here in the beginning back when it was basically WCW reincarnated.
Chris Harris should’ve been a big star, he had all the potential but unfortunately he wasted it. Chris Harris and Sean O’Haire are imo the 2 biggest wasted potentials.
Cowboy James storm achieve a whole lot in TNA Wrestling he was partner with wildcat Chris Harris with America's most wanted Bobby roode with beer money even tag team with abyss but he did win the TNA world heavyweight title . I guess cowboy James storm had more than Chris Harris but their reunion was off the hook ! 👍
There's been good King of the Mountain matches, but only because of the talents and not the stipulations. I think all of these matches would have been better as regular Ladder matches
If the match was the King of The Mountain Rules and then once someone was "Eligible" they had to just get the damn belt from the hook like a normal Ladder match it would make 100% more sense
Yea... To win: 1. You need to pin/submit one of your opponent to eligible to grab the title from the official. 2. you need to hang the title above to win (like reverse ladder match). Some rules: 1. If you were been pinned or submitted, you need to locked up in cage for 2 mins. (idk, violation or for other to not get the pin from you). 2. You can't hang the title above if you haven't pinned someone yet.
Babyballs was going to force his way onto TV one way or another. Him having to be there to climb into the ring and hand them the belt was clearly extremely necessary.
The best part of this era of the NWA-TNA association is that Jeff Jarrett trying to sell himself as the franchise when he was the master of "Dusty Finishes" for both promotions. The only thing that made this version of Jeff's heel persona tolerable was how man fans *_LOATHED_* (and in many cases _still loathe_ ..._ Vince Russo. Him as "director of authority" when he was on a choke chain similar to what Bob 2.0 has on Kathleen Kennedy over at Disney right now was poetic on many levels.
I like the concept of the match, but instead of them hanging the belt, why not have the belt hanging and the wrestler has to get the belt down. This way makes no sense. Also, they could use two penalty boxes.
Feel the intensity of fans sitting & standing there, cheers doing there for these 5 superstars. Lost this now somewhere. Damn those were golden days of TNA.
I love how TNA's "titantron" was a flat screen TV 🤣
I say they should have cinema screens nowadays
Ye due to the stage being kinda small
Most of their early TNA sets were actually part of WCW's old stuff.
