    They are awesome mowers. It looks identical to my Frontier Mower I bought in 2018 along with my John Deere tractor. Only difference is yours is red while mine is green.
    As you said "rebranding" and changing names. Great video.

    I'm glad that you like yours, our Frontier SB3106 turned out to be a lemon. Wasn't put together properly at the manufacturer. And of course Deere won't fix it cause they didn't build it. As of todate, it doesn't match up to our old JD #8 mower. JD will be used later this year. If you get a chance, perhaps make a video changing out the sickle.

    • @LedgemereHeritageFarm

      I'm sorry you got a lemon. I'm surprised JD won't fix it, I thought they repaired frontier implements? I'm going into my third season with it now

      I adjusted the pitch of the bar, upwards, level, and downwards. It flat out would not cut our oats. Alfalfa, no problem. Grass hay, forget it. On the back of the Frontier mower, at the bottom where the pulley is, that thing has almost eaten through the shield cover. Deere's fix was adding 2 washers on each side of those bolt tube to try and push the cover away. It worked for about 15 mins and then it failed. So this morning I've got the JD #8 hooked up, prepping to grease and apparently I'm looking at rain clouds now here in northern Idaho. 🙃 By the way, I did post 2 videos of us using the Frontier model along with our Ibex baler.

      @@stewartfamilyfarms1835m the belt does bind on the PTO shield now that you mention it. I have to run right at 540 or it just knocks it down. I have 7 IH mowers and every one of them cuts fine at just above idle. Very strange

      I can tell you what I'm doing this morning. Was using the #8 last night, was mowing perfectly, and then the pitman arm snapped. So, I'm replacing it today if any of the Deere dealers have them stocked.

    Frontier...I was looking for a brush hog a few years back in Kentucky. Frontier brush hogs are made by Tarter here in the state. The frontier 2072 6ft cutter is $2400 or something crazy like that. I bought the same thing as an unbranded factory 2nd brand new for $950. It has proven to be a pretty tough machine...not a heavy Bushhog brand tree whacker, but it will hold its own for what it is. High lift blades pull a little hard to run it with the 230 farmall, but perfect behind the B414 diesel.

    • @LedgemereHeritageFarm
      @LedgemereHeritageFarm  2 роки тому +2

      I read somewhere that frontier farms all it’s implements from a host of other manufacturers. Now that I’ve reclaimed all of my fields, it’s just a matter of occasional trimming and this cutter works very well. I demolished a Land Pride cutter getting those fields back. That b414 is better suited for that type of work than the 230 I think? Thank You for watching

      @@LedgemereHeritageFarm I'm surprised you dont use a farmall sickle mower. When those old mowers are in good order, ain't nuthin' cuts better! We have one for the 230 that I want to start using here...MAYBE to cut hay eventually, but at least right now just to mow and lay down grass to build soil. You can really only do that once in a season since the sickle mower will choke up on the last clipping, but the brunch hog chews everything up so much more. I also have a 4ft sickle mower for the cub, but it doesn't run right now. You're awfully rocky up there, but do you ever have moles? We have so many dirt mounds here in this pembroke soil, I wonder if it will ruin a sickle mower. It is nothing to shear a shearpin on the brushhog unless you keep it 5" or 6" cut height.

    • @matthewtaylor2185
      @matthewtaylor2185 2 роки тому +1

      @@LedgemereHeritageFarm yes, the 414 is more of a bulldog, stout and safer on hills, but if that little farmall had live PTO, well, you are familiar with how sweet they handle! The 230 turns on a dime.

    'm considering an Enorossi to clip pasture fields. The online manual gives a 1-3/16" (3cm) minimum cutting height, and I assume that's using the lowest settings. I was wondering what the cutting height would be if you select the highest skid plate setting in under the bearings and highest sled setting out at the bar end.

      I get them from my Mahindra dealer. Every dealership (regardless of what tractors they sell)here in Maine gets all their allied equipment parts from JS Woodhouse the wholesaler. I have gotten a couple things off eBay, I’ve also just put the part number in Google . If you can find out who your regional allied equipment supplier is up there, you can email them and they’ll tell you where your closest dealer is.
