Great video! Bugs + Molino (+ Millie) is great fun with great views! I live at the base of Mt. Lemmon, but, even so, I'll shuttle up rather than ride (see: suffer) all the way up... and then that .25mi hike-a-bike. Blech. Well done. I hope this winter training in AZ is going well for you guys. Cheers.
I ate crap so hard on that trail both times I’ve rode it. Last time in October last year I cracked a rib and still had to ride 15 miles back to the Safeway parking lot! That sucked, third time’s a charm I guess.
i feel like the difficulty rankings on those 2 trails are switched. Bug Springs is supposed to be higher rating but i'm almost positive Prison camp is a little more demanding. Anyone else feel that way? Also I'm pretty sure you beat my strava time, its in the 1400s for Prison Camp lol
The upper part of bugs is much harder than prison camp. The lower part of bugs is similar to prison camp. Prison camp doesn't have the larger drops and rolls.
Hey Syd/Macky (S'Macky?), I'm entering my first enduro race ever in April :) The You Yangs Enduro Wars here in Australia. I'm just scared of entering as an Elite instead of a Sport woman for fear of being absolutely wrecked in the leader board haha. Also my rear wheel is so broken that my tyre leaks air if I pull at the tyre, possibly not the best way to start. Might need to chuck an inner tube in there...
You got this! In my opinion, always race the highest category you feel comfortable doing, as long as your ego can take it. 😁 That way, all the people around you will push you to get faster. And yeah, might be time for some new rubber... -M
SYD and MACKY thanks for the tip Macky :) I'm going to try some race pace runs tomorrow and see how I stack up against last year before making my mind up. Also, more like time for a new rear wheel haha. I've got my eye on a bontrager line pro.
Chasing Strava segments I guess would be quite similar to race training for Enduro I guess? My issue with MTB segments is that I am suspicious that half of them are now e-bike users!
That's certainly not a bad way, but I think the better use of Strava segments is to be able to compare your previous times and trying to beat yourself. It's a good way to figure out how to make up time on a trail you already know. And then you don't have to worry about e-bikes -M
Good point! After all the only segments I'll be the KOM are obscure places and odd variations... but it's great to see progression. Sometimes it's fun to see how close to the "best" you can be though.
Love watching you two ride, especially when Syd leads. Syd your technique is so smooth.
Beautiful to watch, isn't it? -M
I think because she is skinnier and leaner than any of the guys on here it is easier to see her move around on the bike. It definitely helps me learn
Syd switching her led foot for the turns was cool to watch, nice riding!
Yup, something we've spent a lot of time working on! Really helps for cornering!
Syd and Mack Both of you Guys Rock! Syd you are so Fluid when you Ride those Trails..Keep it up Guys Both of you are Awesome!!!
Thanks!

Definitely! It's a delicious honor, hahaha.
'Tis a wonderful thing!
I did that exact section a couple weekends ago. So much fun!
iSeabeck the climb to get to the downhill part sucks tho
Highly agree, and it happens twice too!
Damn Macky what a awesome wife Syd is, one lucky guy. Keep the wheels turning guys.
Oh, I know it! -M

Brutal! Yeah, third time's the charm!

Interesting. I find Bugs harder overall, but I can sorta see what you're saying... -M

Summit burritos!!?? Brilliant!
Many a ride has been saved by a summit burrito!
Great video . Peace
What goes into a Summit Burrito? Is it something other than PBnJ?
Enjoyed the video!
In this case, they were steak and egg breakfast burritos. Normally it's something like that or beans and rice!

Ruh-roh! That bad, huh? Better get it sorted! GOOD LUCK!
Nice ride
The GoPro makes everything look easy :)
Always!
SYD and MACKY
Even Hangover and National. Lol
SYD and MACKY u guys should ride the east Mesa stuff (hawes). Super fun
that road climb.... had to do it so many times for the MBAA enduro, practice and preride.
It's a rough one!
How long is that road climb? Time, miles?
The way we did it (Molino Basin campground up) is about an hour. Not sure on mileage...
Man I was just there wish I could said hi to you guys

How is the road up? The shoulder looks wide enough to climb without distracted driver paranoia.
Yeah, it's pretty good. And lots of people ride that road so cars are used to seeing them there!
It's on Mt. Lemmon. Heavy roadie presence. There are a few narrow spots but not bad overall.
Lucky Man you are to have a wife like this 😁
Yes I am! -M
hey do i need a full suspension or can i do it on a hardtail
I have friends who do it on a hard tail but I would definitely want to be a full squish
Bug springs caught on fire today😢😭
Oh no! That's terrible news. Thanks for letting us know.
Sorry for saying this ,but Syd has nice and sporty rear,
No offense
National Summit Burrito Day??
Good idea!!
If you're still in Tucson. Hit Fantasy Island...
We did. Fun stuff.
@@sydandmacky sorry you got to see it in that condition.
Anything to be concerned about as an advanced intermediate
First for the first time ever.
Well done!
