I never realized Bach had arranged his violin sonata No.2 in A minor, BWV 1003 for harpsichord - or maybe it was it the other way around? Wonderful playing as usual. Thank you.
This is the arrangement. The violin sonata is the original. Although, there is some doubt as to whether Bach himself arranged it (partly because composers, especially at the time, rarely wrote transcriptions of their own music). It may have been one of his sons, or perhaps a contemporary who was a fan of Bach's work.

Very nice played, why not the Adagio and the Allegro (thema) before the Andante and the Allegro? I play from the edition Peters nr. 213 Bach 3 sonaten.

Come mai tutti gli interpreti barocchi moderni si muovono e fanno smorfie mentre suonano ? Fa parte anche quella della prassi storica ?
Too much legato and the "more than legato". The first mvt. is not a piece in the "style brisé". And the Allegro is too slow.

too legato? i thought the note-to-note connections were fantastic and the tension logically followed the chord progressions; personally, i'd rather listen to this than "typewriter" playing or an allegro played extremely fast but without any character or life to it.
I am with you Chroboe! Lovely, lyrical and simple and well suited to the music. Ms. Massini, don't be talked into playing this any other way! It is wonderful as it is.
This legato is beautiful. What is important is the result and not what you think about the style brisé or not brisé. The Allegro is fast compared to the 1st mvt : what is important is the contrast. Chiara obtains a beautiful result.
