I don’t know if you’ll see this comment. But how much would a typical battery replacement cost? For reference how much would you charge given that apple will charge me $90 for an official replacement
Why edit the health on the new battery from 88 to 100? Isn’t that a bit scammy for the customer? 88 is definitely better than it was before, but it’s not perfect and you need to own that.
Because the new battery has 100% health. The battery cycles are stored in that strip on the flex cable that they desoldered from the original battery to the new one.

@@edde3244 of course it will. They're just resetting it. With this method, they bypass the notification that says "cannot verify this part is genuine"
@@edde3244they just keeping the old strip so tha iPhone not knowing the battery are not genuine part , and to avoid a notification message on the screen that battery its aftermarket and not the original.

You dont need to put another battrie just boot it with its own like another one
If you want the battery setting to say 100% battery you do. If you simply reset the battery health with the battery tag on flex and install it the phone it will still have the old battery data saved. Once you get the phone to see the device has a none genuine battery it wipes the memory.

@@Mradam912 Not saying you're lying but this is just my personal experience. I used to just move the BMS over and wipe the battery data but I noticed the phone was still reporting the old data. Since I started booting with a test battery to bring up the warning message I have not had this issue. Unless there is a change with the newer iOS updates I don't know as it never occured to try.

You remove bms put in another battery, you put the tag you upgrade it , then you just boot up the phone with same bms +tag this time , it will show you battery geniun message then restart the phone it will apear the health the exact percentage on the tag

The battery flex can detect the battery healthy situation, so if you want to restore it, the flex is vital

I’m Canada it’s $119 for Apple themselves to do it, not to mention you need to ship your phone to them which adds up.
I would recommend going to a local phone repair shop, they might offer a lower cost. Make sure before you do it to copy yours phones data onto like a computer so if any data to be lost you can backup and restore

That’s normal if you haven’t soldered off the battery percentage reader or got it changed from apple. It does not affect anything on the phone and your battery will still be better than the old one, most of the time.

You can never get it back unless you got your original battery from the local shop.
Not to worry though, Apple likes to give those warnings because they want to scare you away from using the local shops so you go to apple and pay 3× the fee for the same job. Most local shops do quality work and even use better batteries than Apple original. You shouldn't worry.
