Will do! Try this little trick with the C to D chord. Use your ring finger as the lead finger for both chords. When you play the C chord, put your finger on the C note first(A string-fret 3) then place the others. When you go to the D chord, place your ring finger on the D note first(B string-fret3) then place the others. keep doing this until it becomes an instinct(should not take long). This is really close to how it’s actually played for filling in the details yourself. The only difference is with the starting lick you dont play a C, instead you play an Am7. You did a great job!

Hi. You are right! It's a Strat! It's a Mexican made 60th Anniversary model "Fat Strat". The Fat Strat comes with 2 single coil pickups for neck and middle and a humbucker in the bridge postition. I very seldom use the bridge pickup because I prefer the lower pitch tone of the neck or middle pickups. I put a Fender Eric Clapton Noiseless pickup in the neck position, and it sounds really punchy even without any kind of overdrive. If you watch any of my funk tutorials, you will hear it! Thanks!

Very good video thanks ... Cmaj7 sounds good but I like the Am7 sound a lot better .... seems a little bit sweeter to me and it goes with the song but I guess since the Am7 is used in the chorus Cmaj7 is more practical in the verses ... it's just my preference is all ..... again ... Very good video

I have also eternally loved this song! Nice that you are making it more accessible to people. One thing I play differently: Instead of the Cmaj7 right after the E on „Friday night….XXX“, I find an Am7 sounds more like the original. The Cmaj7 clashes a bit. Of course, one can only properly hear that when playing in exactly the same weird tuning as the original, or shifting the original to standard tuning using an app (I use Anytune Pro, and tune this song down by 0.34 of a semitone). EDIT: Another twist that is easy and sounds great is on that flute (?) fill-in on top of the G at the end of each verse. I just use my thumb to hold the bottom G and pinch that G plus just the open B string, then use my first finger to hammer on a C on that same string, then the third finger to hammer on a D on that same string, then cycle back down and end the figure with an open G on the 3rd string. I pinch the lower G together with half of those hammerings, in the tempo of the song. That makes that nifty, signature run sound rich and full when played on acoustic, alone.

Will do! Try this little trick with the C to D chord. Use your ring finger as the lead finger for both chords. When you play the C chord, put your finger on the C note first(A string-fret 3) then place the others. When you go to the D chord, place your ring finger on the D note first(B string-fret3) then place the others. keep doing this until it becomes an instinct(should not take long). I hope that this helps! God Bless!

This is really close to how it’s actually played for filling in the details yourself. The only difference is with the starting lick you dont play a C, instead you play an Am7. You did a great job!

You are right! It's a Strat! It's a Mexican made 60th Anniversary model "Fat Strat". The Fat Strat comes with 2 single coil pickups for neck and middle and a humbucker in the bridge postition. I very seldom use the bridge pickup because I prefer the lower pitch tone of the neck or middle pickups. I put a Fender Eric Clapton Noiseless pickup in the neck position, and it sounds really punchy even without any kind of overdrive. If you watch any of my funk tutorials, you will hear it! Thanks!

I have also eternally loved this song! Nice that you are making it more accessible to people. One thing I play differently: Instead of the Cmaj7 right after the E on „Friday night….XXX“, I find an Am7 sounds more like the original. The Cmaj7 clashes a bit. Of course, one can only properly hear that when playing in exactly the same weird tuning as the original, or shifting the original to standard tuning using an app (I use Anytune Pro, and tune this song down by 0.34 of a semitone). EDIT: Another twist that is easy and sounds great is on that flute (?) fill-in on top of the G at the end of each verse. I just use my thumb to hold the bottom G and pinch that G plus just the open B string, then use my first finger to hammer on a C on that same string, then the third finger to hammer on a D on that same string, then cycle back down and end the figure with an open G on the 3rd string. I pinch the lower G together with half of those hammerings, in the tempo of the song. That makes that nifty, signature run sound rich and full when played on acoustic, alone.

Great Lesson - I especially like the "When I come home from a hard days work" the way you show it sounds right to me and I've seen it a bunch of ways and didn't like any of them - yours works for me. My singing of that part is "suspect" but the guitar is solid...lol. Thanks for the lesson!
