Still need to put a link to the tire test spreadsheet in the description of your vids. I never knew you had one until i saw someone ask for it a couple of months ago. It was really helpful. Great vid as always!
It's Deep Woods Deja Vu all over again. Gonna have to give the Jon Voights a try in the moist environs of Mythigan. Thank you for another enjoyable and informative review.
The Deep Woods is my favorite trailing tire. It works on everything, it shines through streams, mud, snow, sand-it’s perfect for Mythigan trails. The thing it’s best at, as far as I’m concerned, is wood. It handles logs like they’re nothing. I can’t wait to get a set of Champs now, this seems like it’ll be just a bit better for trails. It’s a true all-rounder.
I didn't see much "conforming" of the tires to the rocks with the CC inserts this time around. The truck may be a little light for this tire/insert combo. I like the consistency of using the same insert though and appreciate the time and effort you put forth for us.
Interesting foams in there, mine came with grey “non-crazy-crawler-style” foams here in Germany. And yes, they will load for sure. We cut the 2 lugs in the middle of the champs.I cut mine, one left, next row the right lug and so on. Others are cutting both middle lugs of every second row.
Interesting! Louise also makes the Champs in class 1 size, but that design is clearly same as the Pivot. Since we don't have a score for the Pivot it would be nice to see in the future.
They're good very very good on the smaller stuff one thing I have found is you can really tell her Tire once that like stickiness kind of wears off like J Concepts you know I have found they get better obviously the further you get with them
Cut Canyon Trails? They gotta be cut. I've always found the traction profiles of the Deep Woods/Champs to be similar to the CTs, so I can see how terrain/conditions could swing it one way or the other.
@CrawlerCanyon yep! Cut canyon trails. However, i am using my own 3d printed inserts and my terrain is very different from the Canyons. Mind you, they have held their own on a few trail days with the local club. Keep up the good work good sir😎
Have you heard of guys taking their tires and straight out of the bag straight to the Dawn dish soap washing them in a sink and then letting them dry and mounting them up I done that on the Pro-Line trencher little 1.0 I feel like it made them stickier
They have Green stickiness, and they are the same compound as the Mallets, thats interesting I expected more grip from what we saw on the bench, but overall they are as good as we want them to be. They ended up with a really good score They get 8th place, only below the TSL Boggers and all the JConcepts tires. I didnt expect that
I've been building up an Enduro SE as my second rig. :] I unbolted as much weight as I could, but I'm thinking of building an aluminum chassis to shave off even more. How much do your custom rails usually end up weighing? With my shock towers still attached, the stock rail is 5oz.
In 1/8" 5052 aluminum, a pair of rails will land around 4-5oz for the pair. Carbon will cut that weight in half again. You might be able to find some cheap Amazon flat CF rails for SCX10 that can be modded to fit with a couple freshly drilled holes-- something like these: amzn.to/3JDWXKg Now they won't be a drop-in, as the Enduro and the SCX10.2 are like much different just enough that holes aren't going to want to line up quite right, but those rails are barely 3 oz for the pair. Aluminum is (IMO) a better choice for DIY, as working carbon is a nightmare. You might be able to go down to .090" thick aluminum if you add a couple more chassis braces.
@@CrawlerCanyon Thanks so much. I was afraid of building them only to find I'd saved half an ounce! I did consider getting those 10.2 carbons, but my frontend setup leaves no room for cross bracing behind the bumper. I'd have to build massive shock towers to get the braces above the battery, like I did on the stock chassis, which would probably add back the weight saved by the lighter material. Even an LCG rail kit might have that problem, and I don't think the Stealth XF would work with an angled skid... I have a big piece of 1/8 plate left over from said shock towers, though!
After I seen these and heard about them I tried to appeal and it's the one with all the little pins and I tried the champ and then I tried the Rowdy and the Rowdy so far is the best one of all now this is all on smaller scale stuff but they're still the same stickiness still the same trade block
Do you remember da Octopus toy dat ya threw at da wall n it slowly claimed down because it was so sticky, n when ya washed it with Fairy liquid (dish soap) it got its stickiness back..........they should make tires outa da same stuff ,ya could climb a straight up vertical wall 😆 🤣 😂
yes. the more the hobbiests(lobbiests??) say its a good price and buy into it, the worse it gets for the hobby itself. that's not capitolism where companies compete with each other by better value for money, this is something else.
I guess that depends on the rock. They do better than anything G8 here, and even my oldest sets of Deep Woods are still in good shape. If your driving surface is particularly abrasive, you don't need to rely as much on compound, so you'd likely be better off with G8 or X2S3.
@@CrawlerCanyon mine were run only on rocks(granite and pumice) and were done in 5-6 months of weekend crawling...the sidewall was eaten by the beadlock way before that😖 I dont know if duratrax and louise use the same compound though.

Crawler Canyon, This is fantastic! I subscribed because I love it!

I have been running them for years. great tires.
Had a set of these for a long time. Always get more grip from them when mounting them "the wrong way"
I'm so thankful you tested those tires they are so damn good even in the micros

Wow,bought a set last summer they were not even close to this sticky, maby i have to get a new set 😊
I bought a set now 😊 like the tires 👍
🤩
I have those and they are awesome!
They're good very very good on the smaller stuff one thing I have found is you can really tell her Tire once that like stickiness kind of wears off like J Concepts you know I have found they get better obviously the further you get with them
Thanks for a review of my most wanted tire. Now I will never be able to get any because they will be sold out. 😂
Really enjoyed this one. I've got the fastrack rockos on a trx4 and they massively improved the performance. Yes, even over canyo e trails. 😱

well i suppose i know what to put under my SE then!
Have you heard of guys taking their tires and straight out of the bag straight to the Dawn dish soap washing them in a sink and then letting them dry and mounting them up I done that on the Pro-Line trencher little 1.0 I feel like it made them stickier
this might be the right truck for me, how it looks ;)
Susan in tip top shape!

Mr Canyon is baseline just an element enduro? Or a better question is how much “canyonization” has he gone through?
Its just an SE with some parts replaced as they wear out. he's got a whole vid update on his channel about it.
Yeah, some shocks.. overdrive 25%?,metal links...
When did the blue hobby time RC koozy show up???

Wait. How’s Susan on the rocks.
Jeez Louise, am I going to have to buy all your tires?

You really shouldn’t full De-bag. I hear it throws off your natural Ph balance 😪

Haloo
Well...they have their flaws...no good on rock, sidewalls are pretty weak and they get eaten very quickly. But they are economically.😎
