- Jim McCann was a member of The Dubliners from 1974 to 1979. Returning to his solo career he had a huge hit with the song ‘Grace’ and released an album of love songs by the same name. This is one of the songs taken from that album.
One of the best ballads ever written and sung by one of the best ballad singers ever r.i.p jim
R.I.P Mr McCann
Gone 6 years today
Legend among many
Great singer singing a great song in his native Dublin. If this is not a lost paradise nothing is. Rest easily and pecefully. Jim McCann.
It's SO sad that Jim has left this world now, as we know it!!! However, he will surely live for ever with his legacy to the World!!! xoxoxox
The loveliest man and a voice of pure honey! RIP Mr. McCann. Never a week goes by without me listening to your beautiful voice. Hope one day to listen to you sing again. ❤
Nobody could ever sing this like Jim. Magic and listen to this so much ❤
Wat a beautiful song one of my favorite ballads from one of my favourite singers r i.p.jim
A voice like that of Jim cannot be surpassed ❤
Great voice, sorely missed!
One of irelands finest singers,a sweet and strong voice !
My wee mamaí's song!!!! Ulpthera. DLTBGYD XXX
Loved his voice, the best Irish singer in my opinion. Sadly missed.
Why do I / We keep coming back to songs like this?....Because no-one since has compared
to the ubiquitous Jim McCann with his talents and voice.... There will never be anyone like him!!
Too right!
My Favourite ballad singer. This is also the best version ever recorded of this song
I agree wholeheartedly with both of your statements! Jim was also a very kind and friendly man. I had the pleasure of meeting him and thought the world of him! Still do!
I've been a 'Folkie' and guitarist for many decades now.... There is 'No-One' that can do it better than Jim....
He makes me truly humble in my old age, and leaving me with a desire to be even better........
Jim McCann. Great and gentle voice. RIP.
Absolutely beautiful.
I agree 👍
One of the most lyrical and melodic of all the Jim Mc Cann songs. Ar Dheis De go raibh a h-anam dhilis.
The reference to Kingsbridge reminds me of my Grandmother who grew up around the bells of Christ Church. Kingsbridge has been called Heuston for decades so even in the 1970s was a reference only used by the older generation. (renamed after a young clerk who worked at the railway station, Sean Heuston not to be confused with the Euston in London)
Beautiful song - beautiful old Ireland...
Great singing
Love this song and his lyrics..
That fountain shot after the refrain is pure gold
Me encantan los pueblos y ciudades para envejecer tranquilo.🌟✨✨✨
Fantastico! Grazie. Thanks.
Beautiful
Jim RIP
