Yes you are right that giving citizenship to immigrants on the basis of religion is violating the secularism of the country and moreover providing them shelter will gives rise to increasing scarcity of resources as the usual population of India was increasing rapidly and causes issues like- inflation, unemployment, pollution etc. and to solve this govt needs to take international loans while the previous loans are remain unpaid then India also caught in debt trap like neighbours.

If we apply your same logic, the Hindu temples in control of government is also not Secular nature of the country. Every country has the right to know who is their citizen and who should be given citizenship. Open border is not a border.
