Man, I really want to get my hands on the SS. That is probably going to be my next. I have an Isbell Tele with 7.25 radius and I love it. Do you have the Core of SE version?
Bought a SE McCarty 594 about 2 months ago. Never really liked PRS but man, that 594 is a very nice sounding and playing guitar. It quickly became one of my favorites.
I just got the se mcCarty and I honestly believe this is my favorite guitar to play live. It's so versatile and comfortable. The vintage profile neck is fat the pickups are not high output so it sings in a classic tone. This guitar is different than any prs se I have played. If you have tried prs but couldn't really bond with one this model just might change your mind.
I could't agree with you more. I have had 2 PRS before and did not like this one. I love the 594 for all the reasons you mentioned. Such a great guitar. I'm really intrigued by the DGT too. Have you tried that one?
No I haven't tried the dgt . I was thinking about it too but it was out of stock at the time. I'm sure it's a good one too. I have the Santana too and same thing it is different than other SEs . If I buy another PRS it would probably be the dgt.
I just bought single McCarty 594 SE version and it plays amazingly well. I usually play my Fender strat Pro II but for PRSI don’t feel about the thickness of the neck at all, it just feel more natural to me, and I also like the humbucker sounds a lot
I purchased the singlecut version of this guitar a year ago. It's very versatile, and the neck is chunky, like a 50's Les Paul. With the coil taps, you can sound very Tele like. It's the Swiss Army Knife of electric guitars.
I have a 594 SE that I haven't played as much as my other guitars but I will do so soon. I'm with you on having different spec guitars. Big necks, thin, humbuckers, singles, etc. I just adapt. But I love the neck on my CME road worn nitro strat that has the finish worn off. Don't like sticky necks either. Hey, keep the vids coming. People will catch on soon enough. Thanks bud.
I bet the CME is amazing. The Isbell Tele I have is totally worn in. Love the neck on that thing. Thanks for the kind words. I'm not stopping on the YT vids for sure. I will definitely keep going. I have a decent amount doing ok. It just takes time on here. Keep rocking whatever guitar you decide to pick up at that moment.
I bought a SS SE but took it back for this exact guitar, I’m a Les Paul fan, I’m sure a Silver Sky will make a return to my lineup eventually, it was a really nice guitar.
You got it. I was thinking I definitely need to do some kind of update or overview of the guitar. Stay tuned and I will make it happen. Keep playing my friend.
Yes, it is a great guitar and I love the neck. The thing that surprised me about this one and the DGT is that the coil taps sound great too. I think the neck is the best asset on both the DGT and McCarty. I just got the new LP Studio and it has a great neck too. I love all 3 of those guitars and they all have their own thing going for them. :)
I like prs guitars because I like simple designs and how cleanly smooth they are in general. The SE McCarty 594 singlecut is my dream guitar, or possibly a Christmas gift since it’s 2 months away. I also like PRS because of Linkin Park.
Yes, I absolutely love my McCarty and my DGT. I just got a new Les Paul studio as well and I still love the PRS just as much. And I can’t fault you for loving LINKIN PARK. The most tragic thing is so many of these great artists. Left us way too soon. I hope you get your PRS McCarty 594 soon. Keep me posted and let me know how it goes. The only thing I did to my McCarty is sand the gloss off the back of the neck. I did a video on that too. It only took about 10 to 15 minutes, but that’s more of a personal preference than anything.🪼
Excellent guitar, I just bought the single cut model in flame blue & I ABSOLUTELY LOVE IT, HIGHLY RECAMEND IT, LOVE the JAWS poster in the back, you ROCK my friend, Rock On & God Bless.
Thanks so much. Yes, one of my favorite movies of all time and I have always been pretty obsessed with sea life. Sharks especially. The MCarty SE is so good I ordered the DGT SE which comes tomorrow. I bet that flame blue single cut looks amazing. Stay tuned and I will drop some thoughts on the DGT. Keep going!
I have to agree with you on the review. I have two PRS SE. They feel and look immaculate. The one thing I wasnt used to is the wide nut width. It's reminiscent of an acoustic guitar with how wide the neck is. I think it works well for fingerstyle stuff. The Custom 24 is wider thasn the Standard, but the way they are finished is so precise that the standard still feels like on of the best guitars I own. The gloss necks aren't an issue for me because I'm not skilled enought to notice it messing with my play. Although I did take 0000 steel wool to a gloss neck a little bit on an IYV les paul and it made it feel so smooth and fast. I can't bring myself to do it on a more expensive guitar than that though.
Yeah, I will probably play it a bunch and see how I get along with that finish. If I don't like it long-term, the steel wool is coming out. haha. PRS guitars are all so consistent and perfect. We all have so many amazing choices these days. Have a great day and play something fun today.
I recently got a PRS SE Standard 24 08 and it's awesome. It didn't disappoint. It's my main axe now for my gigs, and can just cover all genres from metal, rock, blues, jazz and so on. My wife named her Donna from the Suits series. My next purchase will be a SE McCarty 594 doublecut :)
Nice, sounds like an amazing guitar. Yes, they cover so much ground. You will love the 594 I am playing here. It's just a great sounding instrument. You are gonna love the neck. The PUPS sound amazing in all positions too. Have. blast with it. I named mine Ocean. :)
