I’m not a fan of YM, but this cover is pure art. In a way, to me it rings nicer than the original. Great effort. Yngwiee has done very little first class music and this certainly is his best piece of work. To my ear.
@@MagyHimself Very welcome! I remember b ack in about 1986 or so trying to play this. Took me about 6 months to work out fully (no internet for help back then) and your version is better! I also had trouble getting the slurry part of the solo right. You get so used to Yngwie's picking being so accurate and then this tune comes along with legato soloing and my left hand didnt want to cooperate!
Great playing my friend! What year is your YJM strat? Do you find you need a relatively high action to prevent fret buzz on the strings. I’ve had that issue since I bought mine new in 2017. Had a professional fret level and still not perfect but a lot better. Thanks!
Thanks! Mine is 2016. Every guitar should have fret buzz when played unplugged, but that disappears when plugged in. I do play with quite a high action, but because of personal preference.

Because only a man/machine hybrid could not only reproduce these notes flawlessly, but also reproduce the emotion, drama, the accenting in the pick attack (light vs. aggressive). Yngwie can't even reproduce his own work this well. This is fucking beautiful.

You have done an absolutely amazing job and totally nailed it in my opinion. Both so different from each other, but they’ve been two of my favorites since the mid-80s. Eddie Van Halen, being my all-time favorite-first heard him when I was really young around 1980. I saw Yngwie once back around 1988, I think that was at the forum here in Los Angeles. Then just about five years ago or so, I saw him at one of the ‘Canyon’ clubs here, around Los Angeles, where he still comes and plays just about every year. But I’ve never had a chance to talk with him. I did meet Jeff Scott Soto at a party in the mid 80s, I was around 16. I drove home real quick to get my Rising Force albums, and he signed the first one, and marching out. Anyway, anytime someone can play Yngwie like you, or some, that can really nail Stevie Ray Vaughan, is just so amazing. I can play a lot more Stevie, than Yngwie. You are so amazing, I think that’s probably why people started to just have fun in some of the comments. Just speechless, nothing else to say. I hadn’t noticed that till recently. Hi, not sure if you’ll reply to this or not considering this video is two years old now but here goes! Firstly I would like to say that this is an absolutely outstanding cover of what is probably my most favourite Yngwie song. You have done an absolutely amazing job and totally nailed it in my opinion. Could I ask you please, you seem to have got everything down pretty much note for note perfect, did you learn everything from listening to the recording and working it all out or did you have tablature/sheet music that you followed? This song is definitely something I would love to play myself, I can work out some of it, but not everything, so I’d appreciate your advice. Thank you 😊

Thanks a lot! Yes, it is a pretty atmospheric tune :) really hard to name only 3 :") but judging by the highest frequency of listenings, I'd say Yngwie, John Norum and Gary Moore. But also Sykes, Uli Roth, Michael Romeo, Slash, Michael Schenker.
@@MagyHimselfwe actually have very similar taste in music. Love Gary Moore and Shecnker as well. It’s sad to see them not get as much recognition and appreciation like Mayer or Hendrix. Truly some of the best and classy guitarist the world has produced.

Gosh, not even Yngwie himself would have been able to put all his parts together as on the original track; because the editing show how intrincate was this song as the sum of all its parts. @@MagyHimself Hey, I’ve had this video saved for a couple years now. Every few years I start doing a deep dive into Yngwie… and Stevie Ray Vaughan.
Both so different from each other, but they’ve been two of my favorites since the mid-80s. Eddie Van Halen, being my all-time favorite-first heard him when I was really young around 1980. I saw Yngwie once back around 1988, I think that was at the forum here in Los Angeles. Then just about five years ago or so, I saw him at one of the ‘Canyon’ clubs here, around Los Angeles, where he still comes and plays just about every year. But I’ve never had a chance to talk with him.
I did meet Jeff Scott Soto at a party in the mid 80s, I was around 16. I drove home real quick to get my Rising Force albums, and he signed the first one, and marching out.
Anyway, anytime someone can play Yngwie like you, or some, that can really nail Stevie Ray Vaughan, is just so amazing. I can play a lot more Stevie, than Yngwie.
You are so amazing, I think that’s probably why people started to just have fun in some of the comments. Just speechless, nothing else to say.
