Cały czas na FB ogłoszenia się przewijają że skupują auta stare na wysyłkę do Afryki. Myślę że lepiej je sprzedać tam pośrednikom jak są w miarę działające niż złomować w Europie. Myślę że tam spokójnie jeszcze ładnych parę lat pojeżdżą. A tym ludziom znacznie ułatwią życie. Swoją drogą ..jak przeglądam ciekawostki takiego typu na UA-cam to widziałem już wiele aut z Polski w Afryce. Niektóre jeszcze z naklejkami z firm. Do różnych państw tam trafiają.
Jak jeździłem częściej po złomach 2-3 lata temu, to toyoty były nietykalne. Pozamykane i zabrane kluczyki. Podpisane sprajem. Czemu? Afrykańce ponoć dobrze płacą za half-cuty, czyli ucięty przód z całym napędem. Nasze 300 tyś km to dopiero dotarcie. Jak zycie ziemskie- umiera tylko skorupa! Hehe W afryce silnik dojedzie do miliona km :)
So all he did was bleed the air out of the fuel lines. This happens if you let them run completely out of fuel. the air prevents new fuel from getting into the system due to the high pressure.
In the U.S. that would have cost $300 to do that....of course the mechanic would have recommended and engine change though. So hard to find an honest mechanic.
Yea, do it yourself for free. Just do suction on return line till air is bleed out, problem fixed. This is one of the most simple diesel engine issues to fix.

Set up!!, As a real motor mechanic and someone who has worked on Mercedes many times, they have just undone the injector pipes and let air in the system, then tighten them up, which needs the engine to turn a few times to prime the system then all works ok. Plus the noise on tick over (a sort of low pitch rattle) is the pulley on the alternator which has seized, these engines need a one way pulley so the belt does not jump, in the end this engine will destroy the the belt and the tensioner after a few thousand Km's. if it's already done that by the sound of it.

C’mon, you can tell us the truth, as you DO NOT intentionally introduce air into a pressurized diesel fuel system… he had just cracked the lines loose to purge air OUT. If you’re certified then I need to quit my day job of nuclear engineer and pick up a 17mm spanner.

Looks like the mechanic did a good job,maybe a vacuum leak or something making it idle rough. Still a good job bleeding injectors and getting it back running.
Get him to put in a new starter next :). Also new engine mounts cant be a bad idea and you know the belt chirps pretty good too. Is there supposed to be a radiator shroud or is that bare fan factory? That intake piping looks jerryrigged and will blow apart soon probably.
Engine mounts? lol I don't think they care about that stuff as long as the engine is still sitting in the engine bay 😅. Squeeky belts? HA, that's to let them know the belt is still in place and spinning lol. That missing cap on the rad overflow might be an issue, i think the coolant system is supposed to be a pressurized system. But hey, it's running 😁👍
@Atlantic Thunder Because an engine needs to be at operating temperature in order to have the correct clearances for all the moving parts. Also the oil doesn’t work properly until it is warmed up to operating temperature. Otherwise the wear and tear on the parts is very high when revving it high, especially the turbo doesn’t like it at all
@@starstencahl8985 Nah i doubt there will be wear on the engine they were made to take it, they are old diesel engines that are designed to be run hard for better reliability because if you baby these old diesels they tend to carbon build up fast which causes even more problems down the line compared to just revving it with no load. Upon revving you can hear that the engine sounds smooth and not rattly that means the oil is doing is job well , its not going to harm the engine that much doing it every now and then it will actually clean the oil channels and burn off deposits, but if you rev the hell out of it everyday then yes it will die faster.
@@nikosgreekman8812 I was talking out revving it out WHEN COLD. Of course you can use them normally when they’ve already warmed up and are at operating temperature. But when you’ve just started them up for the first time of the day, you need to bring it up to temperature first, before flooring it

I had a mechanic that worked in a shop in Clarksville Tennessee very knowledgeable and would actually work with you wouldn't rip you off that because of him having property over there yet a certain amount of time to go back otherwise the government was going to sell off his property

To me it sounds like a flooded engine so my guess is that the fuel to air ratio is way, way off. Opening the throttle and cranking the engine probably cleared it.
They smacked on the fuel pump with a wrench to try to get it to kick on. then tightened down the fuel rail. Was loose probably from them trying to clear some fuel out, then they gave it the beansssss
it's a diesel, he just bleed the air off the fuel lines (between the fuel pump and the injectors) kinda simple process, i used to do this on tractors and old trucks in the farm
Air was in a fuel pump and it made fail to good pressure at the fuel line. Hand pumping through with getting out the air from the all fuel injection system have got result to a certain time, then air will accumulate slowly at the pump and the problem will returns again.
Bleeding the injection lines from the injection pump to the injectors. The easiest thing in the world. In Poland, just any farmer can do it and knows by ear when the injection system has air and it has to be done. Odpowietrzanie przewodów wtryskowych, idących od pompy wtryskowej do wtryskiwaczy. Najprostsza rzecz pod słońcem. W Polsce byle rolnik potrafi to zrobić i wie, na słuch, kiedy się układ wtryskowy zapowietrzył i trzeba to zrobić.

You are wrong there. First problem with diesels is trapped air or blocked lines, short of fuel and dirt. Fuel caps go walkies but life moves on.

I always throw water over an engine with a dodgy intake pipe as it is a much quicker way to inspect the top of the pistons.

lol theres no vacuum on a diesel engine vacuum is created from an auxillary pump. my guess is that he ran out of fuel

I used to have to do this to the forklift every morning to get it started. Found out later water was getting in the fuel tank and floating to the top.

Isn’t necessary to bleed every injector line. Just 2 or 3 on a 6 cylinder engine will get it started, then tighten as it’s running

Can someone explain to me what he has done my mechanical knowledge doesnt get to this point all i can think off its that he gave it some beams to clear the air intake and the inyectors but not sure at all
Edit: i repeated the video and i think that map sensor its not conected at all
To me it sounds like a flooded engine so my guess is that the fuel to air ratio is way, way off. Opening the throttle and cranking the engine probably cleared it.
They smacked on the fuel pump with a wrench to try to get it to kick on. then tightened down the fuel rail. Was loose probably from them trying to clear some fuel out, then they gave it the beansssss
it's a diesel, he just bleed the air off the fuel lines (between the fuel pump and the injectors) kinda simple process, i used to do this on tractors and old trucks in the farm
Air was in a fuel pump and it made fail to good pressure at the fuel line. Hand pumping through with getting out the air from the all fuel injection system have got result to a certain time, then air will accumulate slowly at the pump and the problem will returns again.

Bleeding the injection lines from the injection pump to the injectors. The easiest thing in the world. In Poland, just any farmer can do it and knows by ear when the injection system has air and it has to be done.
