Excellent information. Western Ghats are always mesmerising, treasure for mankind and happy to see rare variety of jackfruit which is largely confined to Western Ghats.
Thank you for your reply sir, Are you using the seeds of rudraakshi to raise rootstock and grafting the same mother tree's scion or bud. Have studied the early bearing character of scion graft and the budding graft?.
No sir, however we do use Rudraxi seeds for developing seedlings/rootstock which we use as rootstocks for all of the jackfruit grafts (not Rudraxi varieties in particular). Also early bearing character, depending on the type of grafting method used is not studied by us. However budding ensures formation/initiation of a straight trunk which helps creation/maintaining of an umbrella shaped canopy which will help more fruits to set on main trunk and primary branches.
Thank you so much for the clearance of my queries. In furtherence of developing a good canopy why don't we fix and develop four buds on the four sides of one and the same root-stock?. In Tamilnadu jack tree lovers of their own interest at the instigation of you tube called uzhavar kalangiam are identifying trees having high brix and are weighting for the approval of the horticultural department. It is claimed that trees with 40 brix has been identified.
In our place (high rainfall areas) this variety may need up to 10years to start yielding. Whereas in dry areas like Tumkur, Bangalore etc it has yielded within 5 to 6yrs after planting.
@@dr.pravinsalunkhe9521 There is a variety called Singapore Wada, it has Reddish Orange bulbs and it yields multiple times a year similar to Vietnam Early. There is also a variety called Prakash Chandra, a Malaysian Off Season variety with Orange bulbs with yields from October to March.
Pruning is necessary for Mango especially in high density planting conditions. But in Jackfruit pruning is carried out for the first few years before the yield has started, just to get the umbrella shaped canopy so that more horizontal branches are created at eye level to facilitate ease of harvesting also ensuring more fruits are set on these horizontal branches rather than the main trunk at higher points
Sir. I saw this fruit 20 years back... I really happy to see it now in your video... Thanks for making video on this... I want this plant sir... Can I get rudraxi plant home delivery... ?
Please make at least two hundred grafted plants of this rear variety of jackfruit tree and plant it in your farm as well as sale it to your neighborhood immediately.so this effort will save our bio diversity.
We do have few grafted plants of this variety at our nursery. But do not have any shipping/courier facilities in our place. You have to visit us to get the plants. Contact 9449311761
Hallo sir In a jack festival conducted by Haridoss a retired govt. Horticulture Assist. Director an IIHR scientist by name karunakaran delivered a speech , he told that Shimoga is subtropical place with humid climate and the Raudrakshi red variety doesn't produce jack fruits. But in this video a photo is inserted which shows multiple rudraakshi fruits on a tree. You are telling that red rudraakshi Trees in tumkore and Bangalore perform very well and gives good yeild. Kindly give the name , address and mobiles numbers of the farmers to whom your good self supplied red rudraakshi patch budded saplings. Similarly the address and phone number of the farmers having mankalale red jack your good self has supplied. I am very much interested in planting 50 saplings of red rudraakshi, yellow rudraakshi and mangalale red. I may write a letter to you detailing my requirements. With regards to your self and your father.
Sir, the statement is not correct in stating that Red Rudraxi doesn't produce fruits at all in our (Shimoga) high rainfall climatic conditions. We have totally 3 insitu grafted mother trees (the photos displayed are not of these but of Yellow Rudraxi variety, 4yr old at IIHR, Hirehalli) at our farm (which were planted at 15ft x 15ft distance and in the vicinity of a big ficus tree and few eucalyptus trees which block most of the sunlight) which started yielding on 13th and 14th yr after planting, whereas in open field at 30ft x 30ft distance the Same variety has yielded on 8th yr after planting. Even Mankalale Red and Yellow Rudraxi mother trees at our farm took about 9 to 10yrs to start yielding (under similar spacing and shade). Whereas all the 3 varieties have yielded within 4 to 5yrs of planting at IIHR, Hirehalli campus as well as at GKVK, Hebbal campus (The budded/grafted plants supplied by us)
Thanks a lot for a detailed reply sir. Have you assessed the brix value of mankalale red , yellow rudraakshi, red rudraakshi and batravathi yellow. If assessed please give the brix value and recovery percentage of each variety. It is encouraging to hear from you that red rudraakshi trees are tend to grow errect and may give timber.
@@neelamegamlawyer7788 Sir, at our place, the brix value (with recovery percentage) for the varieties are as follows 1. Yellow Rudraxi - 28 to 30 (about 70 to 75% recovery) 2. Red Rudraxi - 26 to 28 (about 68 to 70% recovery) 3. Mankalale Red - 30 to 34 (about 65% including false carpels' weight) 4. Bhadravathi Vishveshwara - 25 to 28 (about 60 to 62% recovery)
Grafting is basically cloning. And the resulting tree will be true to the type (having exact same qualities) as the mother/source plant. Usually we raise wild seedlings to graft onto as they will have better tolerance and survival instinct.
Sir, I am yet to receive feedback from Tamil Nadu farmers, in this regard. But I am positive that it will definitely bear fruits since it is by far not a humid place but with dry climatic conditions which is conducive in general for all jackfruit varieties for early and higher yield as compared to humid conditions of our wester ghats
I'm very lucky to explore and gain knowledge through your channel. Ankur Anna hats off to your knowledge. Love from Hubli
