Beach Camping at Davenport Creek | Epic Thunderstorm and Hezza Slaying
Вставка
- Опубліковано 24 гру 2024
- We made our way into Davenport Creek for some beaching camping, on our last stop in South Australia for this trip. We copped a massive thunderstorm that first night - soooo much thunder and lightning and plenty of rain which was awesome to give our setup a good wash off!
Jed headed out for a recon mission once it cleared up the next day and managed to bring home some good King George and a few Hezza's too.
Thanks for watching!

Another great episode, with some great advice.
Proper preparation prevents piss poor performance! 😎🎣
Haha that's it hey! Jump ready to Fight! 🐟🤺
Just what I needed on a cool night after hockey. Cheers for the laughs Jed, I'm in for a storm too, but whiskey and and a storm - judging by Kels face that was a hell of a whiskey 🤣🤣btw great footage you got of the storm - and Kel! Another awesome episode Guys 👍👍👍
Did ya have a few jars with the young fella cos " Your in my spot " 😀😀😀
When i'm in the van I want it to rain and thunder above, but in the camper I worry about getting a wet ass😁😁😁, awesome footage of the storm above 👍👍👍
Keep the good shit coming, cheers Andy 🍺🍺🍺
Cheers Andy mate! 🍻
Yeah we had a few good chin wags, I gave him a few rigs to try 👍
I do like canvas rain though as long as she doesn't leak! Ha
Another fantastic spot. Reminds me of a dream i had the other night. Try to get our heavy hybrid caravan up a very similar sand track. Didn't make it. ahhaha. You should go back there, mate. Spend a few more weeks. That way, you can help pull us out. 😂 Lovely spot. 👌
I forgot to mention. I do love a good storm ⚡️⚡️⚡️
Haha, dreaming of sand dune towing! Awesome 👌 😆
Definitely keen to go back, I'll bring the tow rope!
Yeah how good are storms, you woulda loved it!
@oldmate_adventures yes mate. Deam on. It's great. It's a good learning curve haha. Would be some great storms up NT mate 👍🏻
I really like you ,Another great episode
Cheers Pete mate 👍 🍻
HA MATE 👍 FOR CLEANING RYOBI DOES A 18v PRESSURE WASHER THAT YOU COULD USE FOR THE CAR VAN AND BOAT FROM A BUCKET OV WATER WITH SOME VINEGAR WILL CLEAN THE BOAT SMELLS 👍👍🇦🇺🇦🇺
Isn't vinegar an acid? Like maybe not so good on an Ali boat? I was a big Pineocleen fan for most smells but this stuff Canesten Disinfectant Laundry Sanitiser, we saved a freezer that had frozen crays and fish in that a person unplugged and we didn't realise for 3 months over summer. Trust me when I say I'm impressed at what that laundry stuff did in getting rid of the smell, cause Pineocleen gave up.
Yeah mate we usually hit up drive through wash but could be something to look into for sure 👍👍👍
Ooofff she woulda been on tha nose hey!! 😬
my favourite place to camp, those mangroves directly across from where you where camping hold Copious amounts of fresh wild oysters, easy to grab 20kg in 10-15 minutes wading in the mud, plenty of good KGW to be caught in the bay and Big Gummy shark in the channel entering the bay. be carful of the tides though, I've seen your campsite underwater, We usually camp at the wooden shades and park the cars as high as possible and leave the boat in the water for a week, peel and salt the cockles as you would pilchards for bait longevity. Keep a wood fire going 24/7 to keep the mozzies away
Hey there Beno! Yeah right good to know mate! Was a lovely spot and can't wait to get back over there to explore more!
Do you get Blue Swimmer crabs in that channel also?
Thanks again mate and have a good one 👍 🍻
@@oldmate_adventures yeah mate you should be able to, Summer would be your best bet for Blueys, I've caught them on baits while chasing the KGW so I assume nets would snag a few, Dabbing for Gar can be productive at night along the banks in the creeks too
that storm wiped out half of bunbury
I heard bunno is copping a bit of rain finally 🙌
Great episode Jed might stop at Davenport on my way to WA do you think you would get a 16ft van in there? I have seen other UA-camrs camp there but you got to watch the tides I've been told.also you need to make your vids longer it's raining here in Adelaide and there's nothing to watch on TV.lol.😢
Cheers Heath 🍻, yeah enter and exit at low tides makes it so so easy. Though once you get into the dunes be prepared for some pin striping on the van and there is one small sand dune you'll have to send it on. Take crab nets if ya into blueys as I seen shells everywhere.
Haha sorry mate, 😅
I’ve never ducked into Davenport Creek for a look on our 18 plus trip across the Eyre Hwy, might have to next time.
How’s fishing in the NT going when you can get a line wet?
Yeah mate definitely worth trekkin in for a look!
Not much fishing unfortunately as we are a fair trek from the coast. Missing the ocean!
@@oldmate_adventures Bugga. So which is the closest place to you?
King Ash Bay is 300km to the north of us 👍
First!
Shut Yeahhhhh Mate!!! 🤜🤛
