I like this Radiant Hope theory. She could be the mysterious alicorn. How awesome would that be? A character from the comics brought to this new generation. Of course Radiant Hope may have changed her name, but still a great theory and I hope, pun intended, that it becomes a reality. You could be onto something.
Due to the colour differences being a bit of a stretch for Twilight, Cozy and Flurry, the idea of it being Grogar in makeup actually makes a lot of sense haha. Am not ready to accept that the sweet Radiant Hope could turn out to be G5’s newest threat...though Posey (aka, literally Fluttershy) did turn out to be an antagonist so we shouldn’t really be surprised if Hope does turn out to be the intimidating alicorn 🤔
I could see twilight actually, but I do agree that cozy and flurry would be stretches though. But opaline is never really shown in the light so the dark color could have to do with being in the darkness, or if it was twilight it could be dark magic that had corrupted her coat. Like how nightmare moon's coat color changed from blue when she's Luna to black as nightmare moon, and back to blue when she was reformed. Maybe Twilight gave into some kind of corruption that shifted the purple of her coat to a darker one. It's something I could see
I think this alicorn may have caused the split of all three pony tribes because Twilight made a mistake back before her rule that caused the magic to drain away. I think it happened around season 8 and 9 of MLP: FIM that caused it. Let me know what it is.

Here is another theory! The villain in the Friendship Games, Abacus Cinch. They look very similar and all the principals of the schools were alicorns, and we never saw her in Equestria. But that could mean time works differently in the other world, and since she is curious about magic after what happened, she might have slipped through.

@@WindStriker I think your wrong, Sunny could Marry into royal blood and officially become a princess Almost like twilight did and the only reason twilight became an alicorn princess is because she finished a task from starswirls journal and because of Cadiences wedding, which is exactly what Sunny did she brought all three tribes back together using friendship and magic, and putting the crystals back together too, and then became an Alicorn. But it just seems like it’s a special power and soon it’ll probably become permanent and she’ll likely become a full princess in the future, hope this doesn’t sound too mean and let me know if theirs anything I missed… Edit: Twilight Also only became a princess so she could study friendship and become the new ruler of Equestria now I’m not saying that Sunny might do the exact same thing since we don’t really know what happened to twilight and her friends and even if we did we wouldn’t be able to uncover he truth because of all the stories that have mist-used and put into Earth Pony perspective anyways just wanted to let you know that and have a great night or day 😊
I don’t think it is radiant hope. There is 3 examples 4 if you include the comics. Princess Luna is has a blue coat, but as nightmare moon it was black. ( it got Darker) Sunset Shimmer. She’s Amber but in her demon form it was red. ( and isn’t red darker then Amber?) Sci-twi ( lavender) midnight sparkle ( almost dark purple blueish) So the only way to figure out the truth is to lighten it. The villain is FLURYHEART!
If all mlp generations are gonna be connected now, I guess gens 1, and 3 take place in alternative universes, gen 1 being the alternative gen 4, and gen 3 being the alternative gen 5 I see this because in gen 1, things were very insane and wacky, idk I never watched gen 1, but i guess it was pretty similar to gen 4. And in gen 3, it's a version of gen 5 where technology isn't a thing and the tribes are united but still mostly separated by towns, who knows, maybe later in gen 5 we'll see the breezes, and maybe even Starcatcher, maybe she'll even show up as an alicorn (she was very alicorn for not being one since alicorns weren't invented until gen 4), and who knows, MAYBE WE'LL GET A GEN 5 VERSION OF MINTY (which I could consider to be Misty honestly), and I'd love to see a gen 5 Starsong, she was the only gen 3 character to not be adapted into gen 4 (Pinkie Pie and Rainbow Dash are a part of the main 6, Scootaloo and Sweetie Bell were a part of the Cutie Mark Crusaders, Cheerlie was made into the teacher at the school (not of friendship), Tulaloola was made into a filly who fights with her friend in the episode "Fame And Misfortune", but Starsong is nowhere to be seen), I guess I could accept that Pipp is our new Starsong, but I'd love to truly see her again since gen 3

Your flying normally and then out of nowhere you fall out of the sky because some unicorn disagrees with an earth pony. This problem probably KILLED ponies!! The Pegasus castle is sharp, what if someone was flying right above a spike?? Squired pony anyone?! YEAH! Any sane leader would give up the ability to fly if ponies were falling out of the sky!!

I'm afraid this is the most likely answer: a brand-new character exclusive to G5. I haven't seen any signs that the G5 creative staff are interesting in linking up with the G4 lore.
