@@digwillhachi awesome to hear! that makes the time i spend making these videso worth it! static hosting will wrok well for lots of sites, but wont work for lots of sites, specifically, any dynamic data! make sure you test it and only use it on simple sites
yes, i've traditionally done it just on cpanel but curious how others handle it. seems like good solution for a remarkably high # of websites that just need contact forms and have content.
@@BrendanOConnellWP exactly, i am wondering how it works with bricks builder and metabox....it would be great for simple websites with it; give access to WP behind firewall and export it every time as the content updates
you know, i didnt even check if the dynamic data from metabox would work on static...shoulda done that in the vid. i'm gonna check really quick and let you know
yeah, confirming it doesnt render dynamic content from acf/mb, which makes sense, but wanted to confirm again for you. tried with pagination and just a post query with 3 posts, nothing else dynamic
Ah thanks for the info. Yes I am getting it on every site I try it on, and I got pro version too. Usually just logging in and out does the trick for me, sometimes have to wait a little longer
@bztwwc4690 not sure, I ran into a few snags myself that I mentioned in the video, including: ssl, using ngnix instead of apache, and the .local domain extension not working. One or more of those may help you?

webflow is something i've only following at a cursory level as i'm just so used to the open nature of WP w/ different themes and plugin stacks, etc. theyve got an amazing product. new UI soon?
To me they still have the best controls of any visual CSS tool in the industry (I actually wish Bricks took more inspiration from them). It's neat, compact, and looks amazing. Other than that… I find it limiting and expensive. I'm especially bothered by two aspects: - the limits around CSS selectors (and I'm really not a fan of their combo classes concept). - the limitations around integrating other systems (JS plugins, external tools, etc) with it. thanks for sharing that. that is basically my impression. i've used it to build simple site to get the feeling. i am with you that some of the UI stuff can definitely benefit bricks. they have a great education pipeline and other creators which is hugely beneficial
great info. I didnt realise exporting a static site was so simple.
Yeah! Pretty straight forward to do now
@@BrendanOConnellWP I just done this with a few sites. So good for simple sites. I will free up a ton of servers 😆

@@BrendanOConnellWP 100%. just those static brochure type sites that never change. Perfect for them!
Great tutorial Brendan. I'd love to see a complete walkthrough for GIT control and how to push updates. ;)
good reminder, i'll add it to my list. it's a good skill to have on hand as it certainly gives you more control than the method in this vid
@@GeneralEnthusiast btw I did a full walk thru on git with simple static
Great, I wish we could see more of such static alternatives :)

So contact form 7 will not work when using simply static?
i believe with the pro version, cf7 integrates pretty directly, but i havent tried it.

simply static isn't working with my website, "there are no record to display"

So in Wordpress if I am using contact form 7 it will not work using simply static?
