I started liking digital art since you can make animations and draw what I'd like easily without the digital paper (Is that what you call it?) won't get dirty...I'm sure that I'll improve when making digital art. ;D
When a traditional artist wants to become a digital artist:
*they search for things like these.*
When a no-artist (yours truly) gets a Wacom tablet on their birthday:
They search for things like these
im a traditional artist and i didnt know digital art is as hard as traditional. it feels like im learning how to draw again
for me traditional art's better and more comfortable by hand.i just want to upgrade into digital bcus i want my art to be more detailed but i cant seem to get used to it:(
My brain : start learning about digital art
Me : why! What's wrong with papers?
My brain : just do it

People: Why am I here? I'm a traditional artist.
Me: *can't draw at all but desperately wants to*
*requires a drawing tablet*
Me: welp, looks like I already failed.
there is a $50 tablet called huion s610 it is not small and it supports pressure sensitivity, it is really good and btw there is a lot of reviews about it on UA-cam you can buy it without regret
When you have no experience in drawing traditional and digital but you're still here
Me: *cries at the corner
When you wanted to start so bad at digital art but you’re so broke that u only have your fingers and determination as a starterpack 😂
This hit me hard because it's true for some of us. Like me... I wanna get a tablet badly but I'm broke asf and sketchbooks are the only thing that I can afford 🙃
Mad Dancer I used ibisPaintX and then switched on to MediBang when I used my phone. They’re free and I still use them with my iPad. They’re actually not bad at all.
It’s really hard to get from a traditional artist to a digital artist....
It's okay if you get the easy things first. I started out with a cheap tablet and Fire Alpaca and Gimp 😂 both are freely available hope that helped somehow😂😅🥰
Dixi Dixi I had hard time too... my first digital sketch was like wobbly lines of the lineart... lol Maybe I should make a video about before and after xD It's going to be fun. But I think you should not give up O(≧∇≦)O It'll be totally worth it.
I thought it was easy. You can erase where you can’t normally, there’s less items to carry if you want to bring your materials with you, and you can ERASE. I traditionally paint in oils and transitioned recently to digital and I find it easier. I guess everyone’s techniques, etc vary
I went from drawing on paper to drawing on my phone over a year ago, I used to suck at it but now I’m pretty okay But my I need to work on drawing on paper too so I can get better at that aswell ; v ;
life hack: find a drawing timelapse and put the time thingy at the pace u wanna go! :)
Me: *Looks for Huion reviews in comments*

issue with some computers
I know is late BUT, Huion is reaaaaaally good for beginners, they are really cheap and they probably will keep working for years without breaking or something :)), (tell me if i said something bad english isn't my native language)
I'm using Huion H610 proV2 and it's really good for beginners. The pressure sensitivity is incredible and setting it up is easy as well. You can connect it to the phone as well as the computer 👍
@@sehaseonia4202Actually I use Medibang paint pro, i LOVE it, i heared that Krita is good and another other i can secure is good is Paint Tool Sai(it was the first program i ever used, its really simple for beginers) :)
7:55 "...comes at a Price"
*chuckles and downloads krita for free*
oof, when i transfer krita files to my phone they become really pixelated so i use medibang for coud saving/ transfering
I personally don't recommend Krita, it's great! If you are good at using it's features, and with a drawing tablet, I have trouble using it, because the brushes aren't exactly to my liking. I use Ibis X Paint on my phone and a version of Paint Tool Sai I got from someone on deviantart who gave it for free to be nice to people
Me: *looks at the prices*
Me:OK LETS JUST DRAW PEN ON PAPER!
You can get some for like 20 bucks like the Huion 420 on ebay. Wacom is just overpriced. I got my h640p for 50 bucks.
@@practicemakesperfect8444 i got my xp pen g640s for 45$ and it's amazing , huion is very nice too!
@@studyingsucks The H640p? Yeah, perfectly. No wobble, good drivers and software as a whole, good quality overall, no need to charge the pen and good surface area. I have no complaints other than it doesnt have a screen.
@@practicemakesperfect8444 Hey thankyou ..and does it have pressure sensitivity ... I am actually new to this and I want to try digital art but UA-cam is just overwhelming with information and I don't have a budget more than 100 dollar so should I buy that huion h640p one?
I really love how she gave so much information rather than just basics, she even dove in the prices and brands, so greatful
Love it ! it wasn't over-explanation, just to the point for a beginner who knows nothing. Also love how it was organized, like things you need and then the software and then the progress.
THANK YOU!

I'm trying to find a beginners tutorial that teachers you how to paint and doesn't start with "SO THIS IS A PAINT BRUSH. SAY IT WITH ME, P A I N T B R U S H"
I know it's pretty late for a response but I strongly recommend ctrlpaint.com. A lot of content for free and really hight quality.
@Frank Parker Nah, ctrlpaint is legit. Lots of really good starter tutorials that don't insult your intelligence. He sells paid courses which I've never used, actually, but I've come back to the free stuff numerous times. Highly recommend his stuff.

I want to learn digital art because it's the only way I'd touch colors and shading X_X
WE LOVE PAPER DRAWINGS!!! Everything has it's own niche. For example, ebooks and fanfics are now in....but nothing will ever be as good as a actual book, with crinkly yellow pages, and that "book smell". Keep up with the traditional drawing methods💓💓
I just bought an Apple Pencil 1st generation for my iPad and I’m really exited to start digital art seriously
Oh btw! If you dislike the feeling of glass on the IPad/Iprad pro. For artists there is available a screen protector that has the feel of ‘paper’. I’ve personally used it and is amazing since i also did not like the feeling of glass.
Yeah i always see ads on Facebook from one company which has great reviews
This is the one i get ads for on facebook heaps. facebook.com/PaperLike/
@@riyamaan8398 The Nillkin AR paper like is great also so there are multiple options out there. Dont get the cheaper paper likes because they are terrible like sandpaper and degrade the screen down more then normal.

This really motivated me to discover and learn about art and colors. I’ve always drawn on paper but never felt the need to complete. I feel like digital drawing with help me complete them. Time to learn!
me: time to start my drawing journey!
Also me: realizing I'm still in middle school and I'm broke because I can't get a job
Ask your teacher if they can help you find a non-profit that could give you a tablet, or try to find a used one for cheap on an online auction site like eBay or craigslist (with your parents' permission, of course). You don't need a fancy, new tablet if you're just using it to draw with. If you really can't get a tablet for digital art, get some printer paper and a Number 2 pencil. The skills you learn on paper won't be wasted when you finally do get your tablet.

Just bought my first graphic tablet today. It'll be delivered in a day or two. I'm so0 excited!!
I needed this tutorial, even though i have neither pc, nor tablet and nothing! xD but will be useful when i buy a tablet and a computer.
Might I add the *XP Pen* .
They have screen display tablets for around 200$ and they are REALLY good. The model is *Xp pen artist 12* with 11 inches drawing space
I'm getting one for Christmas this year and I can't wait.
It's great and affordable beginner display tablet
I have the XP-Pen Artist 15 Pro. It's amazing. I originally bought the Wacom Cintiq 16 but returned it after seeing the XP Pen. The Cintiq cost $200 more and has NO shortcut buttons or wheel. XP Pen Artist Pro has 6 shortcut buttons and a wheel.

Watching this because i ordered a Huion Hamvas 16 2021 edition and ive been drawing traditionally my whole life, thank you for helping us out so much!
You forget krita on pc! It’s in Mac too, love it!
Krita is amazing in every way except for its smoothing. I’m not very good at drawing digitally so my lines are not very smooth. The smoothing in Krita doesn’t really do much but in other apps they work without even having to click the smoothing option. I do like that Krita has such a wide library of settings brushes and even has animation and comic layouts though.
im literally downloading that as i was watching this video, and i got a wacom. im a beginner and i guess i started out how i was supposed to!
Krita blows all the competition out of the water. And it's free. And it Runs on Windows, Mac, AND Linux.
I recommend getting ibisPaint if you are on a tablet, it doesn’t cost any money, and is free to use and supports pressure sensitivity!

This was so helpful when i was feeling so lost with this new medium. I am usually a pencil and charcoal artist, where i only work with monochrome colors as i find choosing an entire palatte quite hard and being as indecisive as i am, quite a task. Thank you so much.

For anyone wondering: I bought the $30 Huion (since I’m a beginner and thought it’d be a better investment to practice on). I love it! It gets the job done, the size was nice for me because it wasn’t too heavy in my backpack when going to campus. I think if you’re just starting out and possibly unsure of your commitment to drawing as well, this is a great starter. It was super easy to install and adjust, and again, it worked just fine with my programs.

Guys, it's alright to start off with a poopy setup (Ibis paint X & finger, DIY pen, old tablet, ETC). Eventually, you'll get what you need. Of course. I say this from experience. I used to always make gacha edits, and reference my really bad sketches that were on my sketch pad onto ibis paint. I was getting impatient. REALLY IMPATIENT. I decided to make my DIY stylus. Pfft, I couldn't get myself comfortable with the wire connected to the top and the tip of my lead pencil with the cotton in the bottom. I just wanted a tablet connected to my laptop. :(.
I gave up on ibis paint X entirely.
Well uh oh guess what? I still had speed paints on ibis paint with people using what I have but didn't want to use anymore, my finger.
I now own a 75 dollar huion tablet. If you don't want to spend much on your first tablet, its alright, it won't affect you 100%. But trust me, it's really worth struggling at first, because you'll love your setup even more than you do, and you'll be really proud with yourself. Keep looking up guys. (Btw I dont do gacha edits anymore)
Thank you so much! I am good at traditional art but when it comes to digital art i look like i have absolutely no art experience. This really helped me. THANK YOU!♡

Step one: Sell your soul
Step two: Profit
Step three: Spend profit on art supplies
Step four: More profit
Step five: Buy back your soul
Step six: Sell it again because who needs a soul these days.
I can confirm that this is very accurate xD
I think this is the same logic some people use (if they use any) when deciding to get their ear lobes stretched wide enough that you can put your hand through the holes, or covering their entire body in tattoos without a thought about how they'll look in the future D:<
Anyway, just out of curiosity, what's a fresh, delicious soul go for these days? .. I'm asking for a friend!
How are we gonna draw when we dont have a soul? .-.
