On the subject matter of drinking alcohol I asked the question in the chat did they touch on what it says in 1 Tim. 5:23 regarding being able to drink a little wine from time to time for the stomach sake and your often infirmities. Isn't this scripture saying that we can drink a little bit of wine for these reasons alone? It does make sense because alcohol to a certain degree does kill bacteria in the body. If someone could confirm I would appreciate it..ty.

Murray mentioned the verse as reference from the brother, but he quickly moved to the negative Scriptures on it. Of course, this is a VERY sensitive subject for Murray as it affected his family to death (and I understand). So as expected, he would focus on ALL the negatives of drinking wine and its prevention (which is very Scriptural) and did not support the brother in the positive Scriptures on it.
@@bernardshand3697 Brother Bernard i agree 100% with what you say. I understand why he feels the way he does. I was the brother asking the question just looking for clarity because that type of teaching can cause those who drink not to drunkeness to feel as if they are in sin because of what their Pastor has said unscripturally about drinking wine not to drunkeness. But as Murray said there should be caution when one chooses to do so as it can ruin people's lives if they arent wise.
The apostle told the church what to do concerning wine and told the bishop.Now the church of GOD is a doer of the word and not a hearer only.

Now the brother that asked the question is not talking about grape juice he talking bout getting high but he said make merry lol see that's being deceptive and not wise, and what did peter say? These are not drunk like y'all used to but this is that what joel preached that in the last days I will pour out my spirit so in ephesians 5-18 I think be no longer drunk with wine wherein is excess meaning can't get enough, but being filled with the sprit can I say how can we compare that old stuff to the joy of the Lord unspeakable and full of Glory decernment is very important the bible never contradicts. And for us that used to drink we can't be deceived on this issue
@@kevinjackson1338 Appreciate your view. I'm the brother from the video and i never said anything about people gettin high or drunk but instead made mention of not drinking in excess. Excess is the key to drunkeness/deception. Your breakdown of Proverbs 20:1 you added the words "anyone who drinks it" to the scripture. It actually says "whosoever is decieved". Only way your decieved is by be carried away with it. If thats what you felt i conveyed thats not what i meant. I listened 3 times and i carefully worded what I said so people knew i never meant for them to get drunk but to use wisdom. And yes Peter was speaking about not drinking too much so as to be drunk. But be overcome with the spirit. Be filled with the spirit letting it control you instead of being filled with wine(drunk) letting it ruin you.
@@kevinjackson1338 I do agree that we have to use discernment but thats with anything. Lack of discernment and poor choices will be made. I pray you understand my position and know i was not telling people to pop bottles and drink as you please. But instead if one chooses to drink alcoholic beverages to keep it at a level that doesnt get you drunk.
-Romans 14:22 "Hast thou faith? Have it to thyself before God. Happy is he that condemneth not himself in that thing which he alloweth."
-The previous verse explained that we shouldnt drink wine in front of a brother if it causes him to struggle in the flesh. So we should not drink it in their presence. But when we are not with those that struggle with wine and different foods then you have liberty.

Grace & peace be unto you, Elder Murray. I was drawn to your teaching of Yahshua, and I agree that he's the son of God. I disagree with you on his name. For you to use scripture that is translated into English to validate your point of calling him Jesus is erroneous. You do know how to pronounce his name, even though you're not Hebrew. Even though the (Roman Soldiers ) wrote his name in different languages over his head, it doesn't mean they were right to do so. Please remember that these were his executioners that were mocking him and his name & Title. The Angel Gabriel gave his mother thorough instructions on his name to be called. When and if you used the name Jesus, I agree that it represents Yahshua, but it's not his name that was given by his Father. There's a difference. There is a huge significance in using his name. Acts chapter 4 clearly states: For there is no other name under heaven that has been given among men by which we must be saved.". Why is it so hard to use his given name? Justifying that we are an English-speaking nation doesn't justify right vs. wrong.

Not a drunkard, yes, but it didn't say he can't drink wine at all... but those who are severely affected by alcohol, or their loved ones, would quickly take the defensive in favor of "drinking wine is a sin" for a Christian.
If you want to justify drinking it is your choice but a a Christian you don't want to play with your soul

-Keywords in this passage are follow and inflame.
-If you follow then you dont lead. If you are inflamed then you are consumed. If you are consumed then you are following what you are consumed by. God wants us to be sober minded so that nothing takes hold on us except his spirit therefore having sound judgement. We follow only after our Lord...nothing else should control us. If you follow after strong drink all day you place more emphasis on it than God when he wants your all. When you follow that strong drink it will end up consuming you and therefore you will be drunken by it not using sound judgement.

Was fruit of the vine called wine weather firmented or not?
Good question bro. I think it's called "new wine" or simply grape juice before its fermented. And it can ferment naturally (from the sugars and yeast). And I don't believe Jesus used fermented wine that last passover night, else He'd use contaminated or wine with yeast, and yeast (leaven) represents sin. So he wouldn't drink or serve that wine that represents His pure blood. So yes,, its called "wine" whether fermented or not. But I have to get Scriptures for all of this. Lol. (And I have them)
I feel that all preachers should do what Elder Murray is doing and that is allow the congregation to ask question. A lot of preachers tell you that asking too many questions means you are questioning God. To me that’s because they don’t know the answer to the question so they do not want to say I do not know the answer.
That’s what Elder Murray should have said to the numerous verses the guy kept bringing up that shows Jesus drank and so did others in the Bible. What Elder Murray and the guy do not understand in the numerous scriptures that they both brought up should let them know that any time you see the word wine in the Bible it is speaking of SIN! So no one in the Bible is actually drinking what we refer to today as WINE. Now read all the verses about wine and keep in mind when you see the word WINE think SIN. It will make sense
The Baptist church have women preacher baptized in the name of the father son and Holy Spirit. These people are crazy Elder Murray talk about the Son of God but yet denied him in Matthews 28:19. Every organization have something that not right including Elder Murray

Suppose a believer had a drinking problem but overcame and pledge NEVER to drink or touch wine, liquor or any strong drink again. Now,, the church uses wine (fermented, some use grape juice) for communion/ Lord's Supper. Should that believer partake if fermented or alcoholic wine is used? Love you too bro. God bless

Also He's the Bread of Life and its literal bread -- unleavened bread, that's used to represent His sinlessness. The cup also should be pure... pure blood of the grapes, (nothing fermented) Deutetonomy says...
But we must NOT be like the Roman Catholic church that believes that the bread and wine LITERALLY turns into Jesus Flesh and Blood at communion. No sir! That's cannibalism. They call it transsubstantiation. The Jews also thought Jesus was crazy.

Walker Light wanted to make this about skin color but im worried about scripture. Color dont matter to me. Humanity fell...not a color of people. We were all guilty of Adam's sin and thus we all needed Jesus 2 become righteous.

the guy thats disputing about wine and the bible clearly states what it says about wine. If you cant accept what the word says and the way the spirit says about it then move on. The word wont change because people disagree with God.

@@Janemailse Thanks I appreciate you having an open mind. I respect Elder Murray and love them guys but on this topic I feel they are following what they've been taught and their own personal views instead of scripture. It's one thing to have a viewpoint on the topic but if we can't back that viewpoint with scripture then we should earnestly seek the Lord on the matter. And in me seeking the Lord that's where he has led me. The issue with alcohol is drunkenness. At that point the Holy Spirit will bring conviction because of the sin.
Look at these comments! Did I not say there is a difference in Brother Jennings comments. EM is a bickerer, griper and thus the people follow his lead. But First Church under Brother Jennings is peace in the comments, clarity, rarely does anyone attempt to type out scripture and argue BECAUSE they have proper teaching. These comments are an example of a wreck of a false prophet with undisciplined followers.

@@ministerjbradley I like Elder Murray too. He's a good brother and its my belief he wants the best for the flock he leads. Wine in and of itself is not sinful to consume. Indulging excessively in it is and people should be very cautious as to not be drunken. Murray wants to protect those he leads and I myself would feel the same because some dont use wisdom. But the people have to govern themselves according to the Word. I cant place bondage on those who drink wine when our Lord made it to be consumed with thanksgiving just as other foods.
