This topic reminds me of the argument : whats the difference between ogres and trolls. For me a lot of it comes down to how langues change through time, and what was meant in the original story. Just becuase the word in old french or german has that root part we derive ogre from. I meen look at how the consept of elves have changed. Used to be mischivas spirit, very much wat we could see a goblin being today. In my opinion in old tales elves, goblin or gnomes were interchangble
