When 40 dropped this album and this song, My wife and my kids and me were living in public housing and I was selling whatever anybody was buying just to put diapers on my daughters and keep the bills paid while my woman was going to medical school and I was on paper trying hard not to let my family down in the worst of ways. I used to play this song on repeat on my headphones and watch my woman and my babies sleep while I was serving out my back door on the late night shift. “ I’m just happy to be here...”
