Yeah its chaotic but when you listen to the lyrics I think it can encompass your emotions during something like that at least mentally, you've "moved on" being with someone else but mentally you're just trying capture that feeling of the person you used to be with. Sure that would be a very chaotic and troubling feeling to deal with so the craziness in the video captures that and obviously at the end where the MC is seemingly "there" but is in a totally different headspace especially with the car on fire, everything is chaotic much like the emotions when clearly they just want that person again much like the lyrics described. I think it fits so well, just wish the audio of video was a bit lower because it does feel like it drowns out the song a bit
@@macha8155 considering the alter ego he doesn't want us to mention It probably could be him, tbh I won't be surprised if not but looking at history, remember the cakes, oh lord
The music video tells an emotional story. Once you understand the lyrics, the music video really punctuates its meaning. I was very saddened by listening to the lyrics while watching a painful story. Joji’s voice on top of the unsettling videos really dug deep on the emotions his lyrics are illustrating. Two complete opposites and yet they go perfectly together. Joji’s an artist.
but the only thing joji did was preform it right? wasn't ir written by Alexis Kesselman, Castle, Riley McDonough, and Connor McDonough. and the video was planned, directed and filmed by Dan Streit. nothing of what makes the song what it is came from Joji..
The video is distracting at first. But as it plays it begins to make sense. The chaos in it it is the same as the chaos in his mind that he’s feeling from the pain of losing someone.
In my opinion the video is reminiscent of people who have lost something that meant alot to them and they're doing everything to distract themselves except in the end with the guy slouching down its never enough to get over it.
I had to watch the video and song separately to understand them better. After I did I said to my fiancé "after seeing the video and song, idk which is sadder". The song is song, but the video is also sad. An its almost amazing how they don't fit each other at all, yet fit perfectly. I cant even think of a song that remotely fits the video better then this. Its crazy
the best way to describe this song is that it's a sad lullaby - I think that's why it makes a lot of people emotional because it's a familiar sound with a sad message. Joji is good at putting two and two together.
It happens to so many men dude, only women children and dogs are loved unconditionally. When we go unloved especially after losing someone we truly love leaves us. We will destroy ourselves to feel anything other than the pain of being alone.
This is what happens when you cant cope with losing someone you care about when you are in your rebelious youth. That one person who made you happy and kept ypu same. Then you lose it and between ruining your life as a coping method for not knowing how to deal with your destructive emotions, you rebel. But secretly you google search how to win them back knowing you wont get them back, or you text them when you shouldnt. Very raw video, been there before and it hits home in a very real and melencholy way from an unhinged few years of rebelion after losing a fiancé to immaturity.
She'd take the world off my shoulders If it was ever hard to move She'd turn the rain to a rainbow When I was living in the blue Why then, if she is so perfect Do I still wish that it was you? Perfect don't mean that it's working So what can I do? (do ooh) When you're out of sight In my mind 'Cause sometimes I look in her eyes And that's where I find a glimpse of us And I try to fall for her touch But I'm thinking of the way it was Said I'm fine and said I moved on I'm only here passing time in her arms Hoping I'll find A glimpse of us Tell me he savors your glory Does he laugh the way I did? Is this a part of your story? One that I had never lived Maybe one day you'll feel lonely And in his eyes, you'll get a glimpse Maybe you'll start slipping slowly And find me again (again) When you're out of sight In my mind 'Cause sometimes I look in her eyes And that's where I find a glimpse of us And I try to fall for her touch But I'm thinking of the way it was Said I'm fine and said I moved on I'm only here passing time in her arms Hoping I'll find A glimpse of us Ooh, ooh-ooh Ooh, ooh-ooh Ooh, ooh, ooh 'Cause sometimes I look in her eyes And that's where I find a glimpse of us And I try to fall for her touch But I'm thinking of the way it was Said I'm fine and said I moved on I'm only here passing time in her arms Hoping I'll find A glimpse of us
The video is actually hard to watch- whether it's real footage or not, I think there are things going on in the video that are so relevant to what actually goes on during times of struggle and hardships. It's a glimpse into humans being what they are in their rawest emotions- extremely self-destructive. A double meaning of a "glimpse of us" that's being used here. The song itself is a masterpiece, but when coupled with the actual video- I don't think anything comes close to being able to portray the pain that we can endure and how some cope with it. Bravo to the director.
Always love seeing people so confused by the video, but as a man it resonates with me when losing someone and going into self destruction to try take your mind off the pain.
I feel that the music video puts some time of deeper feeling that cannot be reached only with the song. The ‘offness’ and still sort of matching the dealing with difficult feelings caught me.
Am i the only one who don't know Rebecca but at the same time when You see her in the videos, You feel like you really like her, love the way she is as a person and how sincere she is. ♥️
This reaction is a great example of how people just close their eyes but still dont hear his message. Most people could never deal with joji's darker side.
i felt like we guys wants to watch it, because it show the destruction love can do, I found most women reactions are so different from men's because they just don't get it, sure sound is great, but the entire art is the contrast of the video
Pay attention to the guy in yellow. In the beginning we see hair getting cut off, tattoo, gf comes in and looks like they break up, etc. The song ends piecing together a serious story amongst the chaos or maybe I'm reading to much into this.
"just behave". Eazier said than done when your life is in the middle of a dumpster fire. Takes a therapist to get there and for some people even that doesn't get you where you need to be.
I know you've done some Tyler Joseph live at the lounge but would love to see you react to him live from Brooklyn. The dude's a one man show. Love your insight!
The video describes how some people cope with heart break and loss with a destructive lifestyle. Joni has a girlfriend like in the video but like the lyrics say he sees a glimpse of him and his ex girlfriend in his current girlfriends eyes.
Having such a distracting video is great for this track because that's the exact thing that is going on in the video. Everyone in the comments is saying it, but if you've ever tried to distract yourself from heartbreak you know how desperate you can get. There's a desperation to get the emotions out and an anger at yourself when losing someone that is incredibly hard to control. No matter what you do, sometimes you still end up sitting in the floor unable to stop missing someone and just wanting a break. The lyrics are so emotionally raw and in pain, but the video is literally trying, and failing, to cover up the fact that the singer is a broken person.
Angelina Jordan have a new cover out. Elvis Presleys « Suspicious mind» She Also sang on a Norwegian tv show 3 days ago. She sang «Bohemian rapsody» and « I have nothing» live. Search for «Allsang på grensen 2022» and «Angelina», and u will find it😍
I might don't know or don't even understand what it means. But it's ok. When u find the sens of what u seeing and what u listening then u can say u're fucked up or seems to be it.
Pretty solid “Yank” accent. I certainly wouldn’t record my Brit-stralian accent which I’m sure it would be if I were to attempt it, which I also will not. Cheers from Mississippi

There's just something so unique about the music video. At first glance it doesn't fit but idk I think it's strangely beautiful when combined.

idk why but the music video reminds me of Lana Del Rey's Video Games. it's probably the compilation of handheld footage
