- Chuck Loeb, a versatile guitarist, composer and producer best known for his associations with Stan Getz and Steps Ahead, and a musician whose compositions have been recorded by a variety of smooth-jazz and pop acts, died at 9 p.m. on July 31, according to his family. Loeb was 61.
last guitar hero in times when there are not guitar heroes...what a so beautiful song...and what a prodigy Chuck was...he was brilliant in all fields...swinging bebop, rockin´as nobody, understanding the latin styles...miss him forever

It's coming up on the one year anniversary of Chuck Loeb's passing July 31st. Such an incredible talent & yet so humble & beautiful person with lovely family. To watch him play like that in videos cheers the heart. One forgets he's not on this earth anymore. My prayers are with his wife & daughters. Such a magnanimous loss.

He was by far such an incredible musician and wonderful person. I was blessed to have met him years ago and saw him play live a few times. I was away on vacation when he passed and just found out a few days ago that he had died actually on my birthday :(
I have to say when I heard he had passed, it really hit me. May you forever live on in your beautiful music :) You will be truly missed Chuck - A true fan and an old friend CF
