Well, duh. Ethnic cleansing could refer to any genocide, like, say, the Armenian one. Palestine is an obviously more specific term, especially right now. If UA-cam were to target any related term, they Would reasonably go for Palestine, Gaza, Israel etc, and not for Ethnic Cleansing and the like.
I'm not allowed to say that one, either, so, seems the algorithm is more complex to the point of seeming arbitrary.

I can’t express how much it lifts my spirits to hear someone like Hakim express genuine optimism about the prospects for this century.
I will remain a pessimist through and through. If history is any guide, it's that no power, great or small, has _ever_ done anything to prevent genocide, even after codifying the term in the Genocide Convention. More people will die in Gaza, and predictably, no one will lift a finger against Israel because it has nukes and is best friends with the second-largest owner of nukes in the world. The Palestinians will never forgive the world's indifference to their suffering or the appalling lack of material action on their behalf.

It's easy to prove that the earth is round, but if a flat earther asks you to prove it, you know there is no point in responding. If this seens pessimistic then you're correct, I don't believe Palestine will be free. Much more likely that Israel will annex all the remaining territory and then fall into obscurity and decadence as USA supports decreases with time (after all, USA is already quite decadent and still hold a tight grip in the world economy). I would say It's better than the last century but that's only for a few, for Palestine I say It's about as bad as XX and that they'll be entirely removed since all necessary change to tip the balance of power won't come in timely.

At first I thought nobody in my network was talking about this. then i realized all of our posts on facebook are being de-prioritized and when i go to people's profiles i can see a huge outpouring of support for palestine that is completely invisible in my timeline. I have several 1st gen palestinian american friends and even their posts are totally buried unless i go to their timeline.
I donated what little I could to Medical Aid for Palestine and ShareTheMeal's aid campaign in Palestine. While not as meaningful as actually fighting on the behalf of Palestine with a rifle, its still more than "thoughts and prayers". I would encourage anyone else who cares about the well-being of Palestinians to do the same.

I recall cartoonist Joe Sacco wrote two graphic novels about Palestine. One is a 9-part series simply called Palestine(originally published in the early 90s), the other is Footnotes in Gaza(2009). They're a bit dated, but I'd argue they are both still of critical importance.
I just want to add in terms of modern resources Abby Martin (The Empire Files) has been one of the loudest voices on the topic for years and I absolutely think you guys need to get her as a guest for the Deprogram.

I'm glad you put an optimistic note on the end of this video. I think it's really easy - and not completely unjustified - to fall into the "doomer" trap on this and many other issues but there are indeed reasons to be hopeful even in the face of the horror of the current moment.

Hakim's positive attitude towards contemporary China is weird though - it's obviously a capitalist state nowadays, with vast inequality inside, imperialist ambition and aggressive export of capital outside (which results in economic conflict and military tension between them and the OG imperialist countries like the US), and is socialist (in a Marxist understanding of the term) only on paper. Of course we can safely assume that the CPC has some real Marxists in it (if only because of its sheer size and legacy), but at this point it's clear that orthodox Marxism-Leninism is, at best, in opposition there, while the official line has obviously degenerated into revisionism and opportunism.

China is governed by a worker's party and employs central planning for all major projects whilst maintaining a tight grip on its large privately owned corporations. The rest of the economy is closer to standard capitalism
It's a mix of both capitalism and socialism so you can see it either way, but it's arguably a lot closer to socialism than anything in the west.

At the same time I personally think that at this point the "Chinese NEP" experiment has already gone too far for the progressive elements of the CPC to disarm and eliminate the capitalist elements without violence, if/when it comes to that - the capitalists and their supporters hold too much economic and political power to just give it all up when the supposed orthodox ML wing takes over and says that it's time to abolish private property. Basically, even if the CPC really is going to move fully back to Marxist socialism sometime, they'll have either a civil war or VERY serious resistance /sabotage from the pro-capitalist part of society.
Personally, I'm pessimistic about the CPC - to me, it looks like something along the lines of post-Stalin CPSU, where the Party was still de-jure communist, but de-facto the general line drifted further and further into revisionism towards open restoration of capitalism, even though many individual members remained actual communists and somewhat tried to oppose the official position.

I agree that this argument against the Palestinians and their right to a sovereign state unoccupied by the Israelis is stupid beyond belief and doesn't stand up to scrutiny, but the comparison isn't really apt, at least not at the scale you present.
The only current nations in Eastern, Central, and Southern Europe that didn't have a cultural, ethnic and religious progenitor state Pre-WW1 that had existed for at least a couple hundred years before Russian, German, Austria-Hungarian, as well as Ottoman occupation were; Slovakia, Estonia, Latvia, Finland, Transnistria and depending on your criteria as to what constitutes a sovereign state, also Montenegro and Croatia.
Though with Croatia you could also argue that before Hungary's attachment to the Habsburg dynasty, the Croatian lords had enough power and autonomy that they might as well have been a separate state from Hungary overall. Separate laws, taxes, customs etc. just with a single king on the throne of both nations. The same can be argued to have applied to Finland as well, given its autonomous status under the Russian Empire as the Grand Duchy of Finland.
Pretty much all other states not mentioned had been an independent medieval or early medieval state for several hundred years, though not perhaps as nation-states that housed most of their ethnic and cultural population within their borders, but if having a pre-existing nation-state is the criteria, then we'd be arguing on the same terms as the Israeli zionists who claim Palestine and the Palestinian people didn't exist.

I really think someone should make a long-ish review of the history of Palestine and Israel, from a Marxist perspective, which would dispell the usual (and also unusual) lies about the topic. As someone who grew up there I know a lot of the history and practical aspects of the fight for Palestinian liberation and equality for all. I also know how to respond to all the lies I've been told in school, etc. And as a proud Jew from a German Jewish family which barely survived the Holocaust, no sane person can dismiss my opinion as "anti-Semitism". The problem is that I have zero knowledge and ability when it comes to making a YT video, so it will be very boring. If anyone has the knowledge and abilities to make something more visually appealing than just a guy talking with some pictures in the background - talk to me! I would love to contribute this way.

I guess I hate myself cuz I dug deep into the comment section and I feel like this should be said: A majority of the Palestinian population can trace its genetic roots back to the Canaanites, the same as ethnic Jews, this is easily researchable. A lot of people groups outside of Arabia identify as Arab. Being Arab doesn't mean they all migrated in from Arabia. The Palestinian people have existed for a long time, just because a people group doesn't have a state doesn't mean they don't exist. Every time I say anything it’s either “hamas should give themselves up, if they don’t want their own people to die they should stop hiding their leaders in Qatar” or “we tried giving the Palestinians peace and freedom but when they were given entryway to Egypt, they radicalized the country and assassinated Anwar Sadat and even celebrated his death, so don’t be surprised if the whole world hates them” All I got in response is “watch PBS Frontline Documentary’s bro, they go really into it and they never lie”. Just for additional context he’s Muslim who immigrated from Bosnia who thinks Joe Biden saved him & his people…I don’t even know what to say to him at this point
