"303 Aerospace Protectant" - this is the single best thing to clean the rubber cymbals. My very expensive kit was looking a little worse for wear, and I googled what would be best to clean them. After literally wiping it on and wiping it off they looked brand new again. I do it every month or so, and every time they go from having all the stick marks to perfectly new again. Best product I've ever been told to use.
I used a Waterless Car Cleaner spray you can get ready available at your local autoshop for my cymbals and drum parts, module etc. Also works on your car as it saves you wasting water!
But if you know how to grade a V-cymbal (in terms of rubber degradation and asking the seller to confirm choke function) then this allows you to pick up some great deals!
I use my metallica flag i got from death magnetic special box (why on earth i bought it) to cover my drums so they dont dust up so quickly so they look kinda okay. This video will help.
@@RADERFPV Oh yeah, The album was way better than the last one they did, first time i heard cyanide i was in awe but i mean the coffin box edition was shit except the demos on proper CD. I dig that.
@@jezusmylord Yeah, it was a cool album for sure. Just wish the recording quality wasn't such trash, especially on the day that never comes. Sounds like my speakers are blown everytime that song starts getting heavy with the drums coming. I don't know how they let that slide, it's like they didn't even listen to it after it got mastered. At least we have the Rock band remastered version, sounds so much better.
I loved D.M. I was not a real fan of Hardwired. It had a couple of really good songs, but the rest were a bit .....meh. Death Magnetic was imo, an all round good album.
I just use a car cockpit spray or any other plastic cleaner. I am in Germany 🇩🇪 I grabbed that Nigrin stuff. The 🇺🇸 guys should try that Chemical Guys stuff. Years ago I cleaned a rather old cockpit with that chemical guys natural shine. Awesome. What do you use for your cars in 🇬🇧? Or sometimes I just use the WD-40 silicone lubricant. For many plastic parts...
Hey I picked up 2 PD 85's to expand my Alesis strike by splitting with 2 Tom's on a quick test seems to work well. The pads are not quite mint but can be with some cleaning. Using the dishwasher method could the heat from washing or drying wreck the heads?
I still hav Yamaha dextrose 111 set from bout 2007 still great .blk rubber pads h4 the white ones. .bookshelf n bass speakers .spent bout 3600 .clean wit 1/3 lemon ammonia mixd 2/3 water .stay n bounty towel off .pads etc..65 now still hav orig 67 ludwigs
Hi there, I was kind of afraid to clean the cymbals, but you've convinced me. Thanks I would like to know your opinion on old Roland modules. Would you say that td9 and td11 are still worth it? What would be the maximum money value you would give those?
Hope you're happy with the results! To be honest, I can't really say - I've not used either of those modules and am not really sure what the current market prices are, sorry.
@Edgar Sousa I got me a used td-11 drum set in the past 2 months. It's a 5-piece kit and it came with hi-hat, ride and 2 crashes. It is plenty for me. I do not play the bar circuit but I could with this kit. I purchased the drum-tec acoustic package for $36, making the td-11 sound amazing. The itself was $850.
My mesh heads have never been black from dust or dirt (same heads for 4 years), and I'm a heavy hitter. I am just curious how these mesh heads are black from dirt. Even my coated remo heads on my acoustic set don't get that black, thank you for the video for the cymbals btw. Didn't want to come off harsh, love your videos
No worries! It's not to do with hitting hard, the marks are transferred from the rubber parts of my kit via the sticks. I'm not 100% sure what's causing it, to be honest! It didn't really used to be an issue so maybe I'm not buffing the 303 out well enough or something and there's a residue build-up or dust is sticking to it. I'll need to look into it!
I’ve also cleaned my mesh heads with soapy water and they come up like new, and… I’ll probably get banned from owning electronic drums for saying this.. but I’ve used glass cleaner and a clean microfibre cloth to clean my cymbals for the past two years and it works perfectly, and also seems to retain the deep black shine for very long periods 🤘🎵🎶
Interesting! I hope it doesn't dry the rubber out over time, but if it seems to be working, fair enough! I'm not an expert on what different products do to rubber, I just know that 303 has worked well for me and has been highly recommended!
@@TheeDrumWorkshop I see there is a Marine and an Automotive version of the 303. The Automotive version is 1/2 the price. I think both product are plenty good for the rubber, aren't they?
I probably wouldn't. I don't know for sure but it could dry out the rubber. If you just want to wipe them down, I think a damp cloth is probably the safest and make sure to dry it off well with another dry cloth.
Hey Folks, Question; my Roland CY14 C-T crash needs repair. The edge sensor ribbon has come unglued from the surface resulting in auto-choking and unplayable. Anyone know what type of glue I could use to re-glue the ribbon?
Well you shouldn't through them into a water but a bit of water on the outside of the cymbals shouldnt do anything there isn't much electronics in there and all that's there is under the rubber and should not get in contact with the water that way
I clean all the plastic and rubber parts with the same Car Dashboard UV protector liquid or wax, which gives me very good results.

Did it work with the rubber cymbal pad?

This hasn’t damaged your drums? I’m willing to try this tommorow
This is always a good idea to do when selling a kit. So many people sell their electronic kits without cleaning them and it can affect resale value.
But if you know how to grade a V-cymbal (in terms of rubber degradation and asking the seller to confirm choke function) then this allows you to pick up some great deals!
Thanks so much for posting this!! I had to scroll through several videos to find something that would help, so again, thanks!
For protection I use shower kaps to keep it clean as well as the drum heads
By the caps at the dollar store. Where were the good for dust.
Thanks for the great video. Ive got 303 delivering tomorrow, Saturday. All the best neal sw fla

Ive noticed that wood tips leave marks on my cymbals that nylon tips dont. So I dont use wood tips anymore. My mesh heads dont get dirty either.
Thank you for posting this. My mesh heads got dirty from a roof leak. I wasn't sure how/if they could be cleaned
Excellent video with demonstrations. Explained much better than it is on the various forums, where you sometime leave with your head swimming.
Thank you 🙏

303 say they don’t do the Aerospace anymore. I have their ‘updated’ product in a blue bottle - not labelled Aerospace, and it seems fine.
Interesting! I wasn't aware of that, will have to have a look. Cheers!
I've used tire spray for the cymbals and my rubber pads only a little bit though!! I then rub them off with towel!!
What is the best way to even out scuff marks on rubber drum pads please?

Then what about the Metallic part of the drums? What’s the ideal type of polisher you recommend?
It's not often I polish up the metal parts, but Brasso seems to work well when I have done!

I guess the covid virus makes the "spit on the cymbals and wipe down with a t-shirt" method out of the question these days 🤣

I imagine they'll come out fine but I only wanted to do my own cymbals. The GEWA stuff is on loan so I'm leaving them as they are.
